Reign of Winter: The Snows of Summer

Stephen decides to try his hand at getting on the stag but trying to avoid any permanent damage on the creature. He swings his mace at the stag being as careful as possible.

Stephen's swing goes horribly awry and he almost hits himself in the leg. The stag is too focused on Stampy to care, but the fey lets loose with a string of taunts about Stephen's skills, his mother, his heritage, and his body odor. (The rest of you think he smells fine.) The fey then spins over the top of Stampy (provoking, but Stampy misses) and disappears into his mighty fur. As the stag attacks with its antlers, the fey pierces Stampy with his rapier, doing four points of damage. (All physical, no cold) The stag misses. Stampy groans in pain. The sound is sad to those of you have never heard it before, and enraging to Erril.

Hatano, Erril, and Raydine can take their turns.

Raydine was lying in the snow, desperately trying to move, but it was like her body just wasn't able to respondÂ… Till the healing energy's flowed inside her body. I should really learn how to do that too.

She rolled into a better position, and sang:

I'm fiiiiine and we
will diiiiine tonight. Probably stag.

Bardic Performance for that reliable +1 to attack and damage as a Standard Action and deciding to lay down. Remember that +1 stays for this turn AND the next one.

Erril grunts in anger as the fiend and his stag gang up on Stampy. He attempts to move into a favorable position and attacks the stag.

Erril uses a Move Action to get into flanking position if possible and Standard Action to attack.

Erril and Stampy savage the stag and it collapses into the snow. A small, shrill voice screams from somewhere in Stampy's fur. (Make a perception roll to find him.)

Hatano's turn and then Arcatek.

Hatano leans on her spear and glares at the body of the stag, muttering recipes for venison in orcish.

Hatano and Arcatek both fail to spot the fey. Arcatek readies a small crossbow bolt.

Stephen's turn.

Stephen decides to try to increase his chances of hitting the target by first putting his shield away and finally by casting a spell to increase his confidence and skill in combat.

The angry fey stabs Stampy again, for four damage, but the spray of blood reveals his hiding place. Stealth of 1 (total).

Everyone has Bless and Bardic Music. Raydine may stand without provoking.

Everyone can attack, including Stampy. (I don't know how that would work, but go ahead. He's not in a grapple.)

Raydine stands up and points at the fey.

Wait, there is a three-headed monkey behind you!

Stephen attacks with the best of his skill by swinging his weapon at the stag. "No other choice, I suppose...."

With the stag already down and bleeding out, Stephen and Arcatek both spot the fey and successfully hit. Stephen's mace has the damage reduced a little, but the acid splash is highly effective.

The fey, noting that Stampy is no longer fighting back, turns its attention on Stephen and stabs him for 1 point of damage. If he is intimidated, it doesn't show on his tiny feyce.

Everyone may go.

Erril attempts another stab at the fey and Stampy continues to try and shake the fey off.

Raydine takes a sip of the possible burning stuff and try's to spit it on the tiny fey.

It can be set on fire with a torch or a Spark spell or whatever for (1d3)[2] Fire Damage.

Arcatek fires another acid splash that misses and melts some more snow. Hatano and Stephen have the last actions before the fey.

Stephen decides to attack the stag by swinging as hard as possible to possibly get it off the stag. This was the chance to hopefully save the creature from more damage. "Get off!"

If possible, yes. I am trying to hit the creature down.

Hatano? You're the last one... The fey has kerosene on it. Are you going to cast "spark?"

Hatano casts spark and the kerosene ignites in a flash of light as the fey screams in agony and falls to the snowy ground, continuing to burn and melting the snow in a three-inch radius.

The threat is over, other than you being lead away from the road, into the forest, in a snowstorm.

"This is really staring to feel like the fey might actually be behind all of these." Stephen replies feeling worried about their current situation. "Is everyone alright and ready to keep going?" Stephen decides to ask in case he had to assist in healing.

Erril pats the bloody, matted hair on Stampy. My friend could use some assistance if you are able, Stephen. This battle has exhausted my magical limits. Perhaps we should make our way back to the road? Find a place to rest and recover? It may be dangerous to continue on.

Raydine shivers and checks the wound where the tiny fey has stabbed her. She whinces and try's to get near Stampy to shield herself from the cold.

I feel pretty bad… If you can spare healing I think I would need it, but please help Stampy first. Do you think the fey has lied regarding the hut? If we had one it would be way better.

Raydine squints at the direction the stag and the fey had led them, perhaps there really was something further ahead?

Not that I have experience or extensive knowledge of fey, but recent events tell me they are not trustworthy. Still, he did mention a game trail and a fire burning. Perhaps there is something further this direction...

Erril squints as though hoping to see a path or trail of smoke in the distance. Even the smell of a fire would be welcomed.

Stephen nods. "I can help patching stampy up. I must confess this might be the last spell, I can cast though. Lets make sure to be careful while we find some place to sleep." Stephen casts his spell to heal Stampy.

There is no sign of shelter anywhere nearby. Do you want to press on along this old trail, camp here and attempt to build a shelter or fire, or go back to the road you were traveling?

I mean this actually is a trail it must lead us somewhere. Let's risk it! Raydine grits her teeth and with fierce determination follows the trail, hoping against all odds that they were really going to find some shelter.
