The gem is with the balor inside a special chest, but we have the keys, that way, no one can use the gem without the consent of everyone. As for how we invaded Askaretha's palace, that was all the balor and the succubus who cast the spells, I dont know anything about magic other than the stuff that makes me fight even better. I know they had to set up the base outside of Rennador and they described it as "tunneling" through all the planes, I lost patience and stopped paying attention after a few days. My part in the heist was to slaughter everything that got in our way. And what else would we do with the power but to cause chaos and death? Do you know how much power shes got stored in there? Its enough to level Erandol completely

She shows Roxana her key, in the background, the brachina can see Sabrina methodically chopping down hapless cultists so like much dead brush. (think Darth Vader going to Mustafar).

Is that craving you have for a marilth's special massage? I can give you and your lady friend one that you will never forget

From the look on Sabrina's face, its clear she has no idea of what the marilith is talking about.

To Sabrina: ~With a little shapechanging on my part, in a form more pleasing to you than the standard marilith, I could show you sometime.~

As the marilith holds the key and offers the massage, the look Roxana gives the demoness makes her heart beat a lot faster. "Oh yes, my love. And so much more. But before we enjoy ourselves, I have a surprise for you. One your succubus friend could never hope to top. Close your eyes... and enjoy." Once the marilith has closed her eyes, the demoness feels her face being introduced to the softer parts of Roxana's body, building anticipation for where things are heading. As the marilith gives herself to the anticipation, Roxana takes her key, once again lamenting the loss of such prime material that could have been put to much better uses.

I can at least half respect a marilith. All the lesser forms are just balls of slime and succubus are mindlesss sluts, but mariliths, they can be sex fiends if they want, but they can outfight any epic warrior. I wouldnt go one on one with her

The marilith obediently closes her eyes in anticipation as Roxana presses herself against her, her many arms encircling the devil. As she kisses her and lifts her key from around her neck, Roxana expects the demon to do something spectacular like exploding into flames, but this time, nothing seems to happen (other than the marilith clearly becoming turned on)

Huh. This is indeed a most fortunate outcome. Hiding the key away (unseen by both Sabrina and the marilith), Roxana whispers to the marilith words of love, comfort, and bliss, at once melting the heart and turning her every desire towards Roxana, physically and emotionally, building her anticipation, now beginning to cradle her head with both arms. No more thoughts or communications with her remaining balor ally or anyone else. Only Roxana. Once Sabrina is done with the slaughter, Roxana informs her ~I am keeping this marilith. I will not hear a word against it. And I need to recover my witch powers. I require an hour, but I can create a hideaway a plane shift cannot simply enter. For there is no focus for a place that did not exist until I create it. I leave it to you whether you wish to accompany me or not.~

As soon as Sabrina touches Roxana or decides against it, Roxana teleports away with the marilith (and maybe Sabrina), multiple times, and the next moment, a portal springs into existence which they step through, disappearing behind them in the material world. What they step into appears like a palace of every luxury and comfort conceivable, as if sprung from the dream of a dark goddess of love, the phantom staff appearing like gorgeous fallen angels, and even the mere entry hall has numerous spots fit for moments of intimacy between lovers. The next moment, they are in a master bedroom putting even the rooms of Lythala and Roxana in Askaretha's palace to shame. Roxana retrieves a blanket from her purse which she spreads over one part of the bed in a practiced motion, before lying down on it, and with her the marilith. She telepathically asks her name, and then it is time to fully make the marilith her own, as well as recover her powers.

    Spoiler: Actions
    Show
After teleporting, Roxana casts Mordenkainen's Magnificent Mansion. The mansion can only be entered by those who Roxana wants to enter, and since a specific focus is needed for a plane shift per plane and this is a spontaneously created extraplanar space, entering is next to impossible, same with discovering the entrance or even knowing it exists. The mind blanks on everyone further prevent divination, but Roxana is still under the effects of privacy for good measure.

She uses her Fortifying Bedroll to rest for an hour and have it count as 8 hours of rest. She won't recover any spells, but she will recover her daily abilities.

After finishing up with the marilith, Sabrina makes herself presentable and then turns to Roxana to see if she is ready to go. There is a tenseness about the erinyes, as this is the first time seeing Askaretha since her demotion.

Surgery went well, feeling good so far. Inernet seems to be working.

Having enjoyed an hour more in her wheelhouse, having enjoyed herself with Sabrina and Ly'Telia, Roxana tells the marilith that she is free to rest and enjoy herself in the mansion, as it will remain for another 25 hours and all amenities and servants are at her disposal. After Roxana learns how she can find her new marilith lover even after she leaves, the brachina also checks the position of the balor, as per her previous wish of knowing the exact location of the balor until he dies. If she does not get a position, that means the balor is dead, courtesy of Askaretha. If she does, she gets to offer Sabrina to take the balor down as well, fully learn what they did, and perhaps find the chest, too.

When Roxana casts her spell, she gets a location, alright. Rather, a location on the corpse of the balor.

I posted about my hospital stay in the OOC a few days ago.

Not likely it matters, but the location thing was still part of the previous wish, so Roxana did not cast a new one. She in fact can't even do that, since the last one was only on a scroll.

Honestly, Roxana also has no idea if or how much of a fallout there is going to be for her. Readying the keys and hoping the gesture is not in vain, Roxana does a sending to Askaretha: "Mistress, infiltration was done by tunneling through planes. Portal location was significant. No specifics. Succubus dead from key, marilith knew basics. Returning with two keys."

Taking Sabrina's hand, Roxana looks to her for a moment in silence. Perhaps she has a weakness for the erinyes, perhaps she does not wish to see one of Lythala's dearest lovers be punished. Either way, Roxana can only hope for Askaretha's mercy. Or to perhaps divert some of the blame.

With that, she teleports both of them to the throne room, where Roxana immediately bows. And if Sabrina does not wish to offer the keys herself, Roxana does so instead. Either way, she does not dare to speak unless spoken to.

(in order that you do not have to read posts in conjunction, I have agreed to post Sabrina's actions and reactions as a part of my post)

When Roxana and Sabrina arrive, the body of the dead balor is being hauled away by two of Askaretha's pit fiends. Askaretha herself is holding a chest aloft. When Sabrina offers up the two keys, she pretty snatches them out of her hands, without even a word of thanks. Sabrina takes a step back as she opens the chest, bringing out the fabled gem.
With the power of this gem, we will end the feeble rule of Asmodeus to great cheers of the assembled.
Shergan, you will lead my forces in this glorious battle. As for you, Sabrina, because of your long service, i wont be killing you for the number of times you failed on this mission, but you are no longer even in charge of the erinyes air division. Report to Glayana for assignment...or run away and sulk, I no longer care.
Roxana doesnt even need her ability to read people to see Sabrina's reaction. Even though she knew it was coming, to actually hear it is a slap in the face, from the woman she has given all of her service to. Her back is stiff as she walks over to the battle map.
Askaretha and Shergan move to it as well, putting the final touches and moving the last pieces to it, its even more of an insult to Sabrina that 95% of this plan was designed by her. They debate a couple of points, and unseen by the rest of the assembled, the erinyes backs away and out of the room. Without a sound, she leaves completely, probably headed for her room.

Ah, sorry, I've been pretty scatterbrained these past few days. Yes, did have surgery. Wasn't anything big and doing relatively now and am home again, but I'm still pretty beat. Sorry if anything in this post looks incoherent. I've never really been sure how Roxana fits into the court and Askaretha's graces, so I am currently assuming Roxana is similarly unsure.

Indeed, the crossroads Roxana is standing at are looking ever less enticing. She has a great many options, but the outcomes are based upon the success of Askaretha's mission as well as several unknown factors. And for many of them, she will likely not get a sufficient answer. In this entire matter, Roxana has been beneath notice. Her presence not acknowledged, her performance seemingly irrelevant.

Needing a bit more information to see what she can actually do right now, for Sabrina and for herself. So she has to gather a bit of courage and get a quick impression of her perceived worth right at this moment. Askaretha feels a demure telepathic query, and the brachina watches her mistress' reaction closely. If she is allowed to speak, she asks ~Do you have need of me, mistress, and do you desire a mission report?~

There are no missions left, no briefings required...all that is left for us to do is crush Asmodeus forces and take Hell to new levels of glory. Bloodlust battle is really no place for you, go and be with your disgraced erinyes or join with the healing corps, it matters not to me.

(Note: Did not see the request for Sense Motive before making this post. Please keep in mind that this post may change based on the Sense Motive)

Ah. Not fallen out of grace, but overall unimportant in the grand scheme of the court, outside of being an agent sent on missions by Askaretha. Given her mistress also being busy with preparations for war, there is little to do for Roxana than to leave, silently withdrawing from the throne room.

Should Sabrina still be there, Roxana quietly enters her room, floating just above the ground as she is wont to do when not disguised as a mortal. "I appear to be in no position to advocate for your value to Askaretha. In the matters of war and warriors, my voice holds little weight." Sabrina seemed like she had made her mind up already before, but Roxana still wanted to know that if she could return things to how they were, she would. She is no Lythala, she was not there during Askaretha's rise. Seating herself beside Sabrina, there is a moment of silence.

"If you still wish to leave the court, I do not blame you. Baatezu hold grudges for a long time, and there will be no shortage of abuse in any way others can get away with it. However, perhaps you can sit this war out. If Askaretha wins, you can join Glasya's court. You would still ultimately under Askaretha's rule, but would be spared most of the mistreatment and still serve the Nine Hells. If Asmodeus wins, you are a prime recruit. Powerful, disgraced by Askaretha despite loyal service, did not war against Asmodeus, coming highly recommended by Lythala. No need to gamble and risk throwing your life away by joining the wrong court at the wrong time."

As for Roxana herself... to be quite honest, she is dealing with such low stakes at the moment as to be irrelevant. She has not acted in opposition to Asmodeus, she will not be directly involved in the war outside of perhaps doing medic duties far away from any battlefield, she can charm any Asmodean assailants into submission to get her an escort to the court in case Asmodeus wins, and she, too, would come highly recommended. An easy, highly qualified hire. If Askaretha wins, very little changes. She is still an agent directly tasked by Askaretha, she still is the court's top brachina, and is a vital part in maintaining loyalty amongst the court, just like Lythala did. Sabrina has already been publically branded irrelevant, her service unwanted. Her departure does not matter to Askaretha, and thus has little to no repercussions for Roxana. And if she is not feeling like being a member of Askaretha's or Asmodeus' court, well... she can always leave and do her own thing. She stays out of Baator's way, they stay out of hers, she still manipulates demons and mortals that could be outsourced to the Nine Hells, everybody wins.

Come with me. I am defecting to Asmodeus, tonight. Lythala has already assured me that I will at least be given a hearing, and with the battle information I can bring, I will be given a top position. Knowing she is coming and what she plans, Asmodeus will crush her. With your skills, boh as a brachina and as a witch, I am sure a plum position could be carved out for you or you could carve yourself one. Not one of those demons could stand against your spells, one on one, and Im sure the same would be for the devils. We would be with Lythala, we would still be serving Hell, and we would avoid all the negative reprecussions. What do you say? Im going, no matter what your choice is, but I want to have you with me. Even if I am given top billing, I would still like as many allies as I can be absolutely sure of, and I count you as one.

Once more, Roxana sighs. "Sabrina. I believe Asmodeus represents eternal stagnation, content to do nothing but fight the same stalemate without ever making progress, but not even managing that since he messed up by siding with the old gods and not managing to create any counterbalance against the rise of Nocticula, a demon deity, and the Three That Are One empowering Chaos and the Abyss. The Nine Hells are increasingly the punchline of the cosmic joke that is the Blood War. I do not like how Askaretha is treating you, seeming far out of proportion for what happened. I hope this is not a prelude for her beginning to act foolishly and cast aside valuable allies whenever her temper rises. But I have no reason to defect while she lives, not if I wish to see things perhaps finally changing in the stagnant Hells and the Blood War finally shifting, however slightly. All Asmodeus can offer me is Lythala's and your company, all else is utterly meaningless and can be easily obtained elsewhere, be it wealth, status, souls, servants. All that is easy to achieve for me."

There is a little moment of silence. "And you just placed a blade against my throat by telling me that you will not only defect tonight, but also divulge Askaretha's war plans. With that, by letting you go tonight, I willingly betray Askaretha. And she will find out. Not even Lythala could ever keep things from her. And that is going to cost me my head. The 'choice' you are giving me is between maintaining the same old status quo in the Nine Hells, exile on another plane, and death."

The rise of the Three or Nocticula is not of my doing, and I can do nothing about it. I am only one erinyes. As for Askaretha representing change, how can you think that? She is tossing away her most loyal ally for nothing. Asmodeus is too strong for her, and even if by some sort of million to one long shot she were to win, what good would it do? Do you think the other male archdukes, Mephiso, Belial, Baalzebul are going to accept her rule? Theres not a chance in the world. Beating him would just touch off a fight that would weaken Hell even more.
I ask you once again, I am defecting now. While the one bargaining chip I have to give me a better standing still has value. I ask you to come with me. I know you have more than enough spell power to stop me. You probably even have spells that could make me love the enslavement you would put me in. But deep down, I would know the difference...and you would know you had done it to me.
Im begging you to come with me. Join me with this new venture. Join me in making a new order in Hell.

Roxana is quiet for a moment. The next, she touches Sabrina and they suddenly are standing in a rolling field under a dark sky in Daystor. She retrieves her runestaff, and directs a sending. At Lythala.

"Sabrina is telling me things about you. Come to the place where you made me fall to devilhood. Bring no one. Now."

She looks to Sabrina. "I will see if she confirms everything you told me. You will stay here with me, and you will do nothing but listen, and answer when prompted."

The sending is made, and although it feels like a long time, its actually only a few minutes until there is a puff of black smoke to reveal perhaps the most powerful brachina in Hell, Lythala. She looks to both women for a moment, and then only to Roxana. With a slightly quirked eyebrow, she speaks...you rang?

Very much opposite to how Lythala may remember Roxana (if she has not been keeping tabs on her and thus isn't aware of today's events), the brachina does not display her usual pleasant loving warmth. And it takes a lot for that to happen. "I learned today from Sabrina that you were sold to Asmodeus by Askaretha and that you have been contacting Sabrina to get her to come to Asmodeus' court. I want to know if that is true. I also wish to know why. And if Askaretha is playing any games with all this. And why I never heard so much as a peep from you during all this time."

"You did not answer the last question," Roxana says. "Also, I find Askaretha suddenly selling you and throwing away Sabrina suspicious, in the absence of some sort of plan. Everything I had seen of her and heard from both of you thus far sounded like a highly competent, ambitious, and devious pit fiend who gets things done, with successes the entirety of her competitors and even other Lords of Hell lacked. And now she is suddenly acting like an idiot with a short temper, an even shorter sight, and a monstrous blinding ego, like the average Lord of Hell. This does not fit. Something is off. And I feel like either someone is manipulating Askaretha, or I am being kept in the dark about something."

And no further insights are coming forth. "So that's it then. ******* infernal politics forcing me to go on nothing but a guess on who to stick with and whether to betray Askaretha or not, and if I guess wrong, I am either dead or serving a Hell I do not give a **** about, trading one suddenly braindead master for another living abortion."

Roxana shakes her head. "**** this. For all I care, hell and everything in it can burn. I'm done looking for a master to serve, be they Lord or God or some rotten plane."

And with that, Roxana disappears. And Lythala and Sabrina get the feeling that it was a great act of restraint and rewarding what love she was given in the past on the part of Roxana that she did not take their minds.

    (okay then, here we go)
(assuming that somehow, by whatever magical means you want, Roxana sees this)

Sabrina and Lythala teleport back to the palace of Asmodeus, and Sabrina goes into an audience with Asmodeus himself. She outlines the plan that Askaretha has to attack him, and as she details everything, Asmodeus planners arrange forces to stop her. As they finish, Asmodeus stands With what you have given me, I will crush that upstart, I knew I had promoted her too quickly, and after this is done, I will reduce her to lemure status with her memories intact, so that she can suffer her humiliation for centuries. And you two will be at my side to watch it happen.
The next day, as Askaretha's forces move on Asmodeus, she is shocked to see his legions prepared and waiting for her, as they both stand on craggy peaks overlooking the battle field. You will now pay the price for your treachery In desperation, Askaretha looses power from the Gem, it washes over Asmodeus and his general staff, doing some damage but nowhere near enough to knock any of them out. He laughs, and prepares to cast in retaliation....but it never happens.
The blast of force had stripped him of his protections, and before he can cast, a long sword protrudes from his chest where his heart would be and a second one slashes him across the neck, severing it completely. Without even knowing why she is doing so, Lythala grabs his staff as it falls from his hand, and touches Sabrina to teleport them both to Askaretha's side. Dumbfounded, the forces of Asmodeus hesitate for a moment, and Askaretha fires again. This time, she aims at the mass of his forces and staff, and this time, she unloads the entire stored power of the Gem, making the first shock look like a firecracker, compared to a nuclear blast. The whole Gem is emptied, it falls to the ground a broken lump afterwards and the blast devastates the Asmodeus host. What few ranking devils survive suddenly decide that somewhere, anywhere, else is the best place to be and they teleport away, leaving whatever is left leaderless and they are fallen on by the host of Askaretha and Glasya. In a grand sweep, Askaretha has destroyed Asmodeus and taken his symbol, his staff, making her the new Queen of Hell.
Sabrina turns and addresses Lythala and by extension Roxana. You once told me that a secret told to more than one person is no longer a secret. And thats why we could not tell you. Your reactions, everyone's reactions needed to be genuine. Otherwise, there would be no way that I could get close to Asmodeus. Lythala, you knew nothing, even the "sale" of you was a sham, all that we did was implant a subconscious order during one of our sex hypnosis games to grab the staff and teleport us out. When you were "sold", it stung and we counted on you advocating for myself to your new master. Roxana, you knew nothing as well and it was needed that no one in the court see what was happening. Even Glasya didnt know, she was allied with Askaretha and joined in some small way in the attack, but she was used as a conduit for false intel to Asmodeus. I hope you can forgive us.

In the weeks that follow, many more changes occur in Hell. In the first layer, Bel retains his position, this archdevil held himself above the politics of Hell and since Askaretha is moving to advance even more forces from the dukes to his campaigns, he is more than happy with the change. Layer two was controlled by Dispater, and as the first archdevil to make alliance with the up and coming Askaretha, he keeps his power, in fact, he is able to reduce his paranoia. Layer 3 was controlled by Mammon, but the archdevil suffers a fatal accident, and suddenly, Tiamat takes over his fortress, rebuilding it in the fashion of her old fortress on the first layer, and now instead of being resident of Hell, she is granted archduchess status. Layer 4 was co-ruled by Fierna and Belial, however Belial suddenly finds himself completely without authority, instead of being at least the nominal leader. Fierna was long an ally of Glasya and thus, by extension, Askaretha. Layer 5, Askaretha's old level, is handed back to Geryon, who ruled it before Levistus, his return to glory ensuring his eternal loyalty. Layer 6 was ruled by Glasya, as the #1 supporter of Askaretha, she continues to rule in this layer and is clearly Askaretha's #1, in many ways could be called the Princess of Hell. Layer 7 was the abode of Baalzebul, and while he still rules there (having had no love for Asmodeus) with Askaretha promising to research a way to reverse the curse Asmodeus placed on him, he also must check all major decisions with his first consort Lilith, who owes loyalty to Askaretha, because of this promotion. Layer 8 was ruled by Mephistopheles, but Askaretha knows he will never bend a knee to her and he, like Mammon, suffers a fatal accident at the hands of his consort (which is just an unproven rumor) Baalphegor, who takes his place. And, of course, Askaretha takes over the 9th plane

Roxana does not see any of this. She has had suspicions that something was up, that there was some secret plan. But to expect that there was a plan, that everything would go right in the end contrary to hard evidence and in the absence of the need to hope for a miracle, is lunacy. One does not plan for miracles. Lythala's and Sabrina's conduct did not help, and even with Askaretha having had a secret plan after all that involved the bizarre selling and tossing away of Lythala and Sabrina and news of the new rulership reaching Roxana, she does not come back. Not much would have been needed, not even any indication of a plan, simply to stay in touch with her and to not make her feel like she was backstabbed when everything was falling apart and she was struggling to have at least some sort of control over her life only to have it taken away by someone she thought loved her. But even with how generous Roxana is with giving her love, it is not to be taken for granted. Should Lythala and Sabrina want her back, they will need to build those bridges again, and it will not be quick. Only then may Roxana consider returning to Askaretha's court, if the pit fiend also wants her back. Until then, she was right. Even without her there in Hell, things still happened regardless. She has carved out her remote home on Daystor, enjoying herself with her occasionally shapechanged familiar and her new marilith lover (and the two succubi of the Bellagio occasionally visiting in between their moneymaking business; their "handlers" were not exactly difficult to introduce to her love either), spinning her webs as she is wont to do, for she still has ever more love to give, and even when it starts as a spell, it is soon turned into genuine love... and those who spit on it shall suffer dearly.
