Taara clutched her clothes and her face warmed, watching the others closely and hiding her back from them.

[Xihirli]

Lana noticed Taara's modesty and stood in front of Taara to keep the others from staring at her.

Rose waved a hello and then looked away while Taara got dressed again.

[Zergrinch]

"The privateer Red," Zanza emphasizes the name with more enthusiasm more akin to hero worship, "told me that her crew informed her of a light coming from a supposedly-abandoned building on an island not far from shore. Nobody uses it unless they're hiding or holding clandestine meetings, and we can get there by rowboat. What have you learned from the sea-life, Lana?"

"They're not very talkative," Lana said bashfully. "But do you want me to check out the island?"

[Zergrinch]

The goblin shrugs. "It's the only lead I've got, so I'm going. In fact, I'm going to the docks to look for a boat we can rent."

[Xihirli]

"No swimming?" Lana asks, pouting.

[Zergrinch]

"Uh, do you know how dirty the water can be in a town like Qsen? Where do you think the trash goes to? I mean, if you want to swim, I'm not stopping you, but it's better to conserve your energy, right?"

[Xihirli]

Lana gasped. "They put their trash in the water?"

[Zergrinch]

"More than just trash. It's also the dumping ground for an entire town's worth of urine and feces," Zanza says nonchalantly.

[Valmark]

"Wouldn't that be the same for waterborne society? Don't you have only water to throw trash in?" Ghiso mused at Lanitfat's astonishment "Regardless, getting a boat sounds good. If she wants to swim she can swim along- and her checking the island out alone seems to be a terrible idea"

Ghiso started walking towards the nearest person that looked like they had a boat to ask if they were able to give passage to five people.

[Izzarra]

Moving down the waterfront away from where the larger merchant and military ships are berthed to where the local fishermen are located there are several faerings, dinghies, skiffs, and sloops.

A water elf is preparing his single-masted sailboat to head out for evening fishing.

There are several people performing maintenance on nets and other equipment.

Pulled up on the beach a little ways away are several unattended rowboats, some of them are in pour shape and look like they have not been used recently.

Ghiso approached the water elf.
"Hello" he said, waving "Sorry to disturb you. Me and my companions need to get to an island not far from the shore- so we wanted to ask about getting a passage. Would you be able to help us? There's five of us although one expressed the desire of sticking with swimming" Ghiso nodded at the genasi.

[Izzarra]

The water elf considers your request along with the time and the tides not wanting to arrive at his favorite fishing spot too late, until you indicate which island it is that you wish to go to. "I recon that island to be haunted, that I do. Odd noises and strange lights in the wee hours of the mornin'. Don't want anything to do with it."

"Can we borrow one of the rowboats?" Zanza asks.

[Xihirli]

"Haunted? That's wonderful!" Lana chimes in.

[Valmark]

"Even if it was cursed -and nothing says it is- two of my companions already have plenty of experience- the were capable of lifting the curse that provoked the plague of Tamor Town!" Ghiso gestured to Lanitfat and Taara "With such heroes there would be nothing to worry about"

Taara had hurriedly put her clothes back on and walked forward boldly. "It is as Ghiso says. If it is cursed, that is all the better for us. You can take us far enough for us to row, but as far as you are comfortable."

Rose didn't really know what to say and decided to hang back a bit - close enough to still be part of the group - and look around the docks, half worried that the drunks from that other tavern were going to show up around a corner. Or maybe the ghosts from the black barnacle or something.

[Izzarra]

The elf considers the party and that some of them are basically kitted out for war. "I can take you to the island, but I will not stay around."

The fishermen that are repairing nets discuss Zanza's request. There is one boat who's owner passed away and it is not in use by the family at the moment. You could borrow it for a gold, but you would have to put up something of value for collateral.

[Zergrinch]

"I could try to convince the temple to put down some collateral, but you know bureaucracy. It will take a week or so just for the request to be processed," Zanza moans.

[Xihirli]

"How about... two gold? Is that collateral?" Lana was getting used to this whole "money" thing.

[Valmark]

"I would have suggested you leaving anyway" Ghiso assured the elf "But would you be willing to pass by later to take us back in case?"

[Fay]

Rose still stayed quiet for now, seeing no reason to interfere.

[Izzarra]

The elf tells Ghiso "I will swing by when I come back in, but it might be a rather late."

"Even an old dinghy is worth more then wo gold."

[Xihirli]

"How about a REALLY BIG SEASHELL!?" Lana asked, her eyes widening at the thought.

"Seashell?" Taara raised an eyebrow; she didn't know the word, or what it was. She shook her head, then nodded with a smile. "It seems we will not need the smaller boat. This nice elf has said he will take us there and back." she approached him and bowed, leaning on her staff. "Thank you very much. What is your name?" she wondered if she should hug him like she did to thank Zarron and Ghiso, but maybe that's too personal.

[Valmark]

Ghiso suppressed a short No at Lana's question.
"As long as you can take us back before it's time to sleep I think it should be good"

[Izzarra]

"Seashells? Only if you are carrying a load of mother of pearl."
