Indeed. Depending on how much positive energy is present they (living normal people) will "over heal" and (presumably) slowly explode as their skin blisters, warps and bulges from the continually growing flesh beneath. Mechanically it is the same as stepping into a camp fire and just sitting there...

As opposed to our seasons of (1) fire, (2) coupla downpours that will just wreck the burned areas, (3) drought and (4) really f'ing hot extra drought. (With an occasional earthquake to shake things up - sorry for the pun)

On the plus side, our humidity is low!

I love that Durkon and Minrah did something thematically similar to the shell game Team Evil played on the OOTS with the fake Xykons way back in Azure City.

What if Durkon and Minrah find the gate doing this
To find in order to lose; To fall in order to stand up
To freeze in order to ignite; To find myself within, and not fear the edge
To die in order to be reborn to the new world

Wouldn't slow Team Evil down much:

    - Magic Missile (not sure that this would do much)

    - Maximized Fireball

    - Meteor Swarm

    - Ghostform (the door isn't multidimensional stone)

    - Greater Teleport

    - Disintegrate

    - Summon Monster (any big smashy periodic table elemental ought to do it)

    - Gate

You can still cast while "melded into stone". Maybe Wind Walk and they're outta there and back to the team without being discovered? Tricky thing is you can't see or hear anything while melded.

Also occurred to me that if Oona is still tracking, she'll notice that the dwarves never actually entered the cave.

Definitely think that MitD's fake x's will be outed here. Kinda doubt that this will be the dungeon with the portal, since that would speed up the narrative too much. There are many hijinks to come!

Oh, and another thing; in 1040, Redcloak says the ravine is built out of multidimensional stone. I wonder if that would have any effect on the melding spell?

I had mentioned that earlier, but we'll only know if Rich shows us that in the next strip or two ...

Meld Into Stone doesn't put them in the Ethereal Plane, or Astral Plane or any other plane. They are still on the Material Plane, not passing into or through any other dimension. They are simply melding into the stone. So there's no reason that multidimensional stone would hamper this, unless it has addition al effects we do not know of.

It also sounded to me like only the area with the doors and chambers was built out of the stone.

They're in the floor outside the doors - they couldn't get INTO the doors that way, but they can hide outside just fine.

If she can miraculously gain 17+ levels in cleric in the limited timetable the world has, then yes, she could be the source.

That logic would make sense if it we needed to reach that conclusion for sure right now. For any reader who doesn't they'll just find out in a couple of strips along with Team Evil when the run into a monster.

Xykon seems very impatient to get rid of the dwarves (so he can get to the last Gate). A pity (well, for him) he keeps overruling Redcloak when he has a chance to stop one of the strongest outside forces arrayed against him.

Seems unlikely. Not that she's not a follower of the Dark One, but she's not strong enough. According to Thor, they need a 9th level spell slot to power the rift-mending, and Oona screams "Ranger", who don't, well, get those.

I do like the way Durkon and Minrah manage to find a smart way to escape while delaying Team Evil.

And i totally think as many others this is an uncleared door and this will lead Tema Evil to understand what is going on with the MitD or at least suspect something.

Yes I know why that should happen, I know why that probably would happen in OotS. (and likely many d&d games) But that's not how the SRD has positive planes work and I just wanted to know if the Plane of Positive Energy had something special about it since it was brought up. I don't even know if OotS has that plane (we've seen the elemental ones sure) let alone that it follows any specific rules or ideas for me to be invested in.

That wouldn't happen because Mitd was asking if "he can do it this time" points to him never meddled with any doors prior to that (these doors still remain truly empty as of strip #1216), and with a pinch of salt on someone's mention these are different doors than those sabotaged by Mitd back then, I'd say 10 gold goes to this room still being empty
