Re: Rater's Ridiculously Rambunctious Random Ranter #229
I'm fairly certain I've never seen you (and if I have when did you come to London?), but I'm sure you're just as beautiful as BB.
And just to clarify that statement I'm saying you're both beautiful not that she's not. Before somebody decides to read it the wrong way for fun.
Anyway, they're barring the doors again over here from Thursday. Sucks, I was going to be meeting someone Yesterday because of illness, and I've had to make a really last minute adjustment to see them before it starts.

Re: Rater's Ridiculously Rambunctious Random Ranter #229
I believe her point is that you asked several times for people not to discuss the food stuff because you weren't invested in it.
On a similar note, I don't think anyone except maybe El Minster (and you obviously) is invested in your viewer numbers/subscriber amount. At least, in the way you're telling people about it. It'd be kind of like if I just periodically mentioned the number on my odometer.

Does anyone else ever wish they could crawl into a cocoon and sleep for a couple years, then emerge in a perfectly healthy body that doesn't have all of the health problems, premature wear and tear, or other things you don't like about the body you have now?

Re: Rater's Ridiculously Rambunctious Random Ranter #229
Well, my special needs cousin has COVID.
Here's to a month of my pandemic anxiety shooting way the frick up and fearing the worst for half of my local extended family!
All becuase the management and staff at the day program, he went to apparently couldn't be bothered to take basic precautions.
This? This is why I keep saying that you don't want me to get Super Powers. This is the worst it's ever been, the first time someone's life has for sure been ut in danger by malice or incompetence, but **** like this keeps happening to me and the people I care about!I also answer to Bookmark and Shadow Claw.

Re: Rater's Ridiculously Rambunctious Random Ranter #229
And no one is saying that you shouldn't be.
I'm saying that's how other people are going to feel about your subscriber/viewer count. There's no context. They're literally just numbers to us.
To again make an analogy, let's say I posted and said that my odometer was at 67,983. No other context, just that number.
Nobody here will care about what my odometer is at. There's not enough context.
And even if there's more context they might not care. Let's say I was at 67,000 and am now at 67,300 because I drove out to work every day. Nobody is going to be particularly invested in my drive to work.Last edited by Mystic Muse; 2020-11-02 at 10:00 AM.

Re: Rater's Ridiculously Rambunctious Random Ranter #229
Yes. People need to know why something is important to you to get at all invested in it.
And even if you explain why something is important, sometines they still won't care. I'm certain there's lots of stuff I care deeply about that you would not able to be less interested in if you tried.
I'm so extremely sorry Rater.
They're in my thoughts for whatever that's worth. There's really nothing else I can do, though I'd like to if I could.Last edited by Mystic Muse; 2020-11-02 at 10:24 AM.

Re: Rater's Ridiculously Rambunctious Random Ranter #229
So I needed to have a blood test today, but since I forgot my blood requisition form I couldn't get it done today. Oops! And since my rider ALSO had a blood test today, I needed to either wait in a hospital for upwards of an hour or just go home. So obviously I order a cab... but oops times two, I forgot to get breakfast before calling!
So when the cab rolls in I'm like, hey bud you have breakfast yet? He says no ad I'm like okay cool, take me to Timhortens I'll buy us both some breakfast then you can take me home. And then we did.
My dude got a plain breakfast bagel with earl grey tea, three honey two sugar, if curious.

Re: Rater's Ridiculously Rambunctious Random Ranter #229
I often find myself wishing that I could turn into something big, strong, intimidating, ad impossible to hurt and just... Be that.
I imagine I would be less anxious and that people wouldn't be as willing to give me crap for no reason.
Edit: Wait, have I said this before?
I suddenly feel like I've said this before.Last edited by Rater202; 2020-11-03 at 04:48 PM.

I'd just like immunity to emotional pain. I've just had a very not fun conversation with my partner which probably wouldn't have happened if it wasn't for the return of plague time (and no, I can't go into details, beyond 'I feel like **** and it;s at lest 70% my fault').

If you bite yourself and die as a result, are you poisonous or venomous?
I use braces (also known as "curly brackets") to indicate sarcasm. If there are none present, I probably believe what I am saying; should it turn out to be inaccurate trivia, please tell me rather than trying to play along with an apparent joke I don't know I'm making.

Re: Rater's Ridiculously Rambunctious Random Ranter #229
As I understand it, poison can refer to a number of drugs both natural and synthetic that cause harmful effects if introduced to the body via food, drink, air, or being absorbed through the skin or membrane, while venom is a naturally occurring toxic substance that has to be injected into the bloodstream(or at least be exposed to the blood) to have any effect.
Notably, a substance that is benign or even beneficial can become a poison if it is used wrong, or to excess. A drug to keep your blood pressure from getting too high, in excess, could cause you to bleed out.
An essential oil might have an aroma that you find pleasant and relives your stress but certain ones are also going to make you sick if you eat them.
(Incidentally, that's the beginning and end of the medical benefit of essential oils. If you found find the smell pleasant or associate say, lavender oil with pleasure becuase you first smelled with when you were getting a deep tissue massage, it will make you less stressed and being less stressed makes you less likely to get sick or have headaches. But if you are sick or suffering from chronic pain go to the goddamn doctor)
However, Venoms are meant to be bad for you.
So, not all things that are poisonous are venomous, but some things that are venomous might also be poisonous, depending on the exact chemical makeup of the venom.
Incidentally: "hot" food, with capsaicin? Capsaicin is a poison. Its purpose is to cause pain ad sickness and, in large enough doses, can be fatal. But humans have developed a resistance to it so doses that would kill or seriously harm most animals are pleasant to humans... Or, at least, something we're willing to try to prove how tough we are.
It depends on the person how much is which.I also answer to Bookmark and Shadow Claw.

A lot is me overreacting, but urgh, yesterday was just not the day for some things to happen. Going to talk about it when we both have time, now my head's cooled.
To be fair, our reaction to anything domesticated seems to be to make it more aggressive. The only reason we never had war kitties is because they gave up on us after we started putting fish in tins.

Re: Rater's Ridiculously Rambunctious Random Ranter #229
I've often found that very rarely do people do things for no reason. More likely, it's just that you are unaware of the reason.
Still unclear; could be either, both, or neither.
No it's not. That's like saying chocolate is a poison. Capsaicin is poisonous to some animals, and not poisonous to others. Specifically, birds are entirely unaffected by capsaicin and are ht emain method of pepper seeds spreading by being eaten. And make no mistake, the peppers themselves were absolutely evolved to be eaten.
