The tiefling's broken Common makes it unclear whether they mean that birds have been on the menu or if some avians in the countryside have a strong appetite for carrion.

Ogrin relaxes a little bit as the elf tries to handle the wolf.

The merchants finish with the butchering of the dog and pick up their weapons again. They don't seem to be scared of the dire wolf.

The dwarf's face droops into comedic levels of disappointment. "Oh... Well, that was anticlimactic." Unsure of what else to say, Ogrin steps forward and gives the wolf an affectionate scratch behind the ears. "Er, good dog."

The group continues east with the dire wolf walking along with the cleric. The river is to the right and the group walks among the many hill valleys. Voices can be heard coming from farther ahead.

: you both realize that there are four distinct voices. One is deep , one is less deep, one is softer than the others and one is stern. A loud noise like pots being dumped on the ground and again the stern one says something and the deep one responds.

The tiefling and two gnomes have their spears ready. The dire wolf does seem to respond but only if you said swift arrow in elven.

From around the corner comes four orcs, three with weapons. The first is male carrying a heavy pack on his back and carrying a great axe. A younger male carrying a pack with pots and pans tied to it wields a spear. An older female carries a pack on her back and a long sword. The last one is a young female orc with a basket of fruit .

Let us pass the older orc says in a deep voice in common.

The tiefling yellsKill and the tiefling and gnomes move toward the orcs with their spears.

Upon seeing the features of the orcs, Ogrin feels an instinctive anger. His grip around the haft of his maul turns knucle-white. Before he can spring forward, however, Ogrin notices their kit. These are not raiders. They seem to be foragers. A family?

Ogrin raises up a clenched fist in a halting motion. "Hold up," he barks out to stall the merchants' charge. He steps forward, maul over one shoulder, and looks up at the older male orc. The dwarf gives the obvious leader a scrutinizing scowl, his hard gaze seemingly trying to peer into the orc's soul.

"...What tribe are you from, urk?"
