Does anyone have the year time line?
Belkar(the brick) bitterleaf is on the final how many days of his life?
I still have not seen a cake. It was predicted he should savor (enjoy to the fullest) it.
So who has the count handy?

Re: Does anyone have the year time line?
It really hasn't been that long indeed.
As far as I can see two days have passed:
Edit: More time found by Fyraltari, updated the timeline for the events after arriving at the firmament.
Edit 2: I just keep updating this one with more evidence, cba to make a true changelog atm.
Day 25 - Strip 992 Party debarks at the Godsmoot.
*Strip 1016 High Priest of Freyr (panel 8) states the last time the council came together it took two days.*
**Strip 1030 Roy says it is at least a day till they reach the Firmament (first panel) and tells the party to rest.**
Day 26 - Strip 1049 Party arrives at the Passage Pass.
**At least a day has passed since 1030.**
Day 26 Night - Strip 1090 Party arrives at the Firmament
In Strip 1095, it's mentioned the council comes together midmorning.
Forumuser Understatement pointed out that in Strip 1136, Durkon states it has about been a week since his death. (He died on day 20.)
In Strip 1152, it's mentioned there is enough time for Durkon to rest and pray before dawn, which according to D&D rules take 9 hours, implying most of the time spend at the Firmament happens before day 27.
It is possible that dawn is really late (they are close to the north pole) and during the vampire battle or the aftermath the clock strikes midnight, but I don't see any mention of that.
Day 27 - Strip 1155, the last of the dwarven elders arrives to the Council of the Clan meeting.
*Which happens almost exactly two days after #1016*
Day 27 Night - Strip 1188, the sun is setting.
Forumuser Denthor pointed out that Durkon (again) mentions it has been around a week after he got vamped. (Again, he died on day 20)
***In strip 1189 V mentions it will take two days to rendedouz with the Paladins.***
Day 28 happens off panel.
Day 29 Strip 1190 Belkar wakes up, party is 3 miles away from the north pole.
Forumuser Fyraltari pointed out that Belkar spent two evenings listening to Elan giving a recap to Minrah according to #1191.
***There is an argument to make this day 30 based on V statement on travel time in 1189. Currently They only had a full day of travel , day 28, and part of day 27. V is known to be quite literally.***Last edited by Yanisa; 2021-02-23 at 12:29 AM.
Proudly addicted to pointing out where exactly rules can be found.
Countdown to Belkar's death and my follow-up count gives us less then 3 weeks left. Poor Belkar.

Re: Does anyone have the year time line?
He just doesn't state that. He says "had a lot goin' on up 'ere this week" as in "a lot has being going on in my brain for the past week".
He does not state or even imply "we have been traveling for a week". The only thing he really implies is "it has been at least a week since I was turned into a vampire" really.
Hope that helps.Peelee's Lurker Lotsey Leader

Re: Does anyone have the year time line?
Durkon concretely statesl it's been ~1 week since his first death. The Council of Clan Elders takes place in a day, and the order likely leave Firmament at evening, considering in #1188 the sun is setting and Roy is sleeping, as well as in #1189 Team Evil has done most of their dungeon delving.
Overall, it's been 9, at most 10 days, since Durkon's death. That's kind of crazy.

Re: Does anyone have the year time line?
Every time I'm reminded how little time has passed, my mind is blown.
Even if in our D&D games people tend to go from level 1 to 20 in less than a year, they still tend to take a few days every time they need to get somewhere. The Order has really fast transportation.Attention LotR fans
Spoiler: LotRThe scouring of the Shire never happened. That's right. After reading books I, II, and III, I stopped reading when the One Ring was thrown into Mount Doom. The story ends there. Nothing worthwhile happened afterwards. Middle-Earth was saved.

Re: Does anyone have the year time line?
Nice find.
And to add on that, I stumbled on 1189 in which V also mentioned two days. However that one made me doubt my timeline. V is known to be quite pedantic and according my timeline they only had a single full day of travel, plus a night and early morning of the days before and after. I don't feel V would call that two days.
Then again in my mind it makes more sense that the day Minrah joins, day 27, she gets a full recap from Elan, with a repeat on day 28, making a groggy Belkar at day 29.
Perhaps V is talking in calendar days, rather then 48 hours.
I (already had) added your finding to my timeline.
Yup, a week has passed since the day Durkon got vamped, which was day 20 according the count. To be literal: strip 1136 is at 6.5 days since death and strip 1188 if at 7.5 days, in human language we call that about a week.
I added both your findings to the list.
In D&D there is a mismatch between time spend on combat, and time in combat. Because (in at least in 3.5) a round takes 6 seconds, but 4-6 players can easily take 6 minutes to figure out what to do. My last session took 4 hours real life time and mostly revolved around a single combat that took 2 minutes in the campaign world.
It feels like the comic is doing the same thing; long detailed combats on which we, the audience, spend a lot of time, but in The Order's universe it's only a part of a day. Which is probably a case of art accidentally imitating life.Last edited by Yanisa; 2020-10-28 at 01:30 AM.

Re: Does anyone have the year time line?
Oh for sure, but like 60-95% of the playing time is spent on on what represents like 0.001% of the in-game time.
Maybe the OotS world is just utterly tiny, though? My own setting is relatively tiny compared to RL, but it still takes on average probably about a week to walk across a country. The Order does have teleportation and a magic air ship, but that thing must be really fast! It went from the western continent to Azure City in how much time, again?
It's also just the logistics of it all. Shopping in medieval cities would take quite a while, there's no Wal Mart superstore around. Food, consumables like potions and scrolls, various magic items... these would require visits to many different merchants. Determining where to go next, what paths to take... Repairs on the Mechane might require custom parts to be made, actually it probably would, as presumably such a setting doesn't have retailers with a huge bunch of spare parts (heck even nowadays they tend not to...).
I mean, I'm not complaining, it's just... whoah.Attention LotR fans

Re: Does anyone have the year time line?
It didn't? It went from Cliffport to Azure City in about three days, from an unspecified location to the Draketooth's pyramid('s remains) in maybe a day and from there to the north Pole via unspecified Western Continent town, Gnomeville and Firmament in a dozen days.

Re: Does anyone have the year time line?
They don't need any help in being mixed up, do they? I mean, they can't even keep track of their dwarf cleric ...
