I'm in a 5e game with a very loose DM who enjoys homebrewing the overall levelling mechanics of the game. There are no multiclass stat requirements and we get XP by "what we've done" during a session, which is often highly subjective (and out of my control). As a "primary" class in wizard, I'll always gain XP there but not necessarily in any other class.

That being said, I'm currently a Bladesinger (wizard level 2) high elf with a level in Paladin and Rogue. My DM says I can go up in any class I choose and my stats are 7, 18, 14, 19, 9, 7. I'm torn between grabbing a second level in Paladin for smiting or just focusing on my wizarding levels. Any advice? I may also eventually get more XP in fighter, so I really am just trying to figure out a path forward.
