    Default Celia and Haley's Overly Long and Coplicated Journey

    So, i was trying to track the time left till Belkar's ultimate death. But I discovered another weird thing about this comic's timeline. I'm talking about Celia and Haley travel to the Oracle and the Greysky City to revive Roy.

    Strip 316 - New Year
    Strip 484 - Fall of Azure City - 9 day later
    Strip 533 - Celia and Haley leave Azure City - almost 4 months later
    Strips 534-665 - Celia and Haley's Journey - more than 6 months
    Strip 666 - End of journey - 7 weeks before the end of year

    So, apparently it took more than 6 months for Celia and Haley to:

    * Go to the Oracle
    * Travel to Greysky City
    * Wait for Blind Pete
    * Save Roy's golemized body

    Talk about a long journey! What went wrong?

    You forgot that the celebrations in Azure City were of the Southern Calendar New Year, which is several months after the Northern Calendar New Year. Roy, being a northerner, is using the Northern Calendar in #666.
    I made a webcomic, featuring absurdity, terrible art, and alleged morals.

    According to the wiki, which has a nice timeline, it took 11 days from Azure City to Greysky City. Then they spend about a week in the city itself. Also there is a bit of timelines not matching up perfectly. Partly because of large timeskips, partly because of we fact we are following the split party at different locations. Also that different calendar thing InvisibleBison pointed out.

    Here are the relevant bits from that page:
    Haley, Celia and Belkar travel to the Oracle
    There must be a delay between summoning Celia and the peace conference. We'll have to work backwards from comic 702, which leaves a five month gap in which it is difficult to pin down the various concurrent storylines. Durkon in comic 588 implies that he's been at sea with Vaarsuvius for the past 6 months, and Kazumi in 589 implies she's been pregnant for "half a year".

    Comics 533-563: Day One
    Comics 564-572, 628: Day Three (two days from AC in 550 to Sunken Valley). This is the same day the ancient black dragon visits the Oracle. Oracle prophesies Belkar's death "before the end of the year."
    Comics 573-598: Day Ten (Haley says it's a week since the Oracle, and it is implied that Elan's arc continues on the Greysky City day.)
    Comics 598-599: Day Eleven
    Battling the Greysky Thieves' Guild
    Horace mentions it's been weeks since comic 572, and Eugene says it's been eight days since 598.

    Comics 600-622: Day One
    Proudly addicted to pointing out where exactly rules can be found.

    Countdown to Belkar's death and my follow-up count gives us less then 3 weeks left. Poor Belkar.

    No, Belkar's prophecy is explicitly linked to the southern calendar.

    Not sure if that counts as 'explicitly'. Rich explicitly said it, but outside the comic.
