Re: Crazier Idea Mafia
Yes, and I also had a reason for it (which I wrote)- namely the fact that a single 4 people wagon meant my vote was sitting useless and I wanted a reaction.
And yeah, the reason to accuse them today was exactly this- being offline after seeing that they haven't been around since only a few hours before End of Day in addition to what I already said.

Re: Crazier Idea Mafia
Wait, weren't you "more convinced" that the Alien didn't carry out the kill because plenty wasn't online? How can he be both Werewolf and Alien?
- - - Updated - - -
And if plenty is a Werewolf, as Caoihmin pointed out you would be the Alien Killer. Are you the Alien Killer?

Re: Crazier Idea Mafia
Well no (as good as it does to say that) but...
*double checks* uh, yes nobody else could have been the alien killer if I'm not seeing wrong. That still leaves you as a potential Werewolf with whatever power.

Re: Crazier Idea Mafia
That's correct, but at least I have claim, you and plenty don't even have that.
- - - Updated - - -
Actually, if you're the Alien Killer, then who did block your kill? plenty, who appears to be inactive? Improbable. The most reasonable explanation would be me being the Doctor and saving the potential victim.Last edited by Captain Cap; 2020-11-21 at 03:19 PM.

Re: Crazier Idea Mafia
It depends on how many of each are left. If there is two of either faction, we need to get that faction.
Not knowing what the setup is, the safest lynch is between Plenty and Valmark since we know one of them is Alien Killer. We're more likely to hit bad there than CC/RA/Cao.
Spoiler: Who is the best lynch for Town?
2 Wolves vs 2 Aliens vs 1 Town
Vote to no lynch, Wolves and Aliens shoot each other in the night. Repeat.
2 Wolves vs 1 Alien vs 2 Town
We have to lynch a Wolf and get both townies through the night.
1 Wolf vs 2 Aliens vs 2 Town
We have to lynch an Alien, not sure if it is better to get the killer or not. Depends on who wolves kill.
1 Wolf vs 1 Alien vs 3 Town
Either is helpful but Wolf is slightly better since they have an ability plus kill and Aliens only have a Killer.
OK, I understand now. Plenty could have not been around to kill.
CC could have lied about being a baner. All I know for sure is that he is not Alien Killer. We know where he was Night 2 (assuming you trust me).
By the end of the Day you'll probably have to claim, especially given CC's suspicion of you. Claiming earlier might help us work out what happened more quickly.
I'm guessing that's non-indicitive. The other wolf could have easily distanced and voted PoR to get Townie points.
So, to just confirm on the CC vs Valmark thing, if town trusts me the Alien Killer can only be Plenty or Valmark. Anyone left could technically be a werewolf. Except this is how I see things.
rogue_alchemist
- Is not a Werewolf, since he was blocked by the Werewolf Roleblocker and knew Apogee was SK.
- Is not the Alien Killer. If he is alien, then there are 2 left and Captain Cap is confirmed not Alien.
Captain Cap
- Is probably not a Werewolf. Why would the Wolves block rogue_alchemist Night 2 and also send CC? Could be Investigative, Tracking, or JOAT but I don't know what Wolves get out of that.
- Is not the Alien Killer. If he is alien, then there are 2 left and rogue_alchemist is confirmed not Alien. However, Zelphas (the Alien) seemed to want to lynch CC, so likely not an Alien.
Valmark
- Is possibly a Werewolf. I have nothing to contradict this.
- 50/50 shot of being the Alien Killer. I'm doubtful though, given Valmark pushing for the Zelphas lynch.
Plenty
- Could be a Werewolf, nothing to contradict. Except the Alien bit.
- 50/50 shot of being the Alien Killer. Between Plenty and Valmark, I'd lean Plenty.

Re: Crazier Idea Mafia
This makes me wonder something- Unavenger, let's assume a faction with a factional kill where everybody has their own power. If everybody uses it, is the kill still carried out?
For example, let's say a single werewolf remains who has... Eh, let's say Protective (it's just an example). They target someone with their protection power (likely themselves but they can't always do that so maybe they target someone they don't want to kill). Would they also get to carry out the kill or would they have to pick?

Re: Crazier Idea Mafia
I investigated the Outsider last night. I have a really bad luck streak going. I got he was town, so at least I wasn't blocked.
As you say werewolves have a power and a kill, doesn't that make them more dangerous. But either way both need to die. Until last night aliens have been pretty happy to kill werewolves. Plenty does seem most likely Alien Killer to me.
For now I'll vote Valmark as wolf, who has 2 actions at night most dangerous. Would like to hear claims from the last 2 as well.

Re: Crazier Idea Mafia
*Looks at the two votes*
*Thinks*
I don't think I can bluff my way through this when two thirds of Town are convinced that I'm a Wolf.

Re: Crazier Idea Mafia
Valmark died today. He was struck by lightning. Valmark's role was werewolf strongman.
The day will still end at 18:00, 23/11/2020.

Re: Crazier Idea Mafia
plenty
I think town won? If it was 2 Aliens vs 2 Town game would be over. If there was another Wolf I don't think Valmark would have surrendered.

Re: Crazier Idea Mafia
This is a common misconception, but it's not true (at least not in Craz[y/ier/est] Idea) - the game isn't called until one faction actually controls the lynch, which they don't in an XvX (they have to scramble to get their votes in first) and there also have to be no ways left that they can reasonably lose. Amusingly, Innocent Child versus 2 aliens, at least one of whom isn't a vigilante, still isn't game over if the Innocent Child uses their ability at the right time and then wins the next day's 1v1.

Re: Crazier Idea Mafia
Fair enough. Regardless, best lynch today is plenty so I don't plan to change my vote.
CC, who did you target last night? I don't think it matters at this point if we get rid of the Alien killer.

Re: Crazier Idea Mafia
Alright, I give up, as there is 1 technical path I could try to 'win' this, but I don't want to drag it out just for the off chance I can be charming. I am the Alien Investigator. Yall were an interesting study, and my cohorts won't go so easy on you next time!

I mean, I expected to vote you the next day anyway (unless Valmark was still alive). Had a stronger feeling that CC was town.

Re: Crazier Idea Mafia
NIGHT 5 END
rogue_alchemist died tonight. He killed himself. rogue_alchemist's role was Alien Researcher.
GAME OVER
CaomhinTheCape survived! They eliminated all opposing factions. CaomhinTheCape's role was Town Universal Backup, but he survived as a Town Watcher
Captain Cap survived! They eliminated all opposing factions. Captain Cap's role was Town Doctor
AvatarVecna, Caerulea, The Outsider, JeenLeen, CaomhinTheCape and Captain Cap, YOU WIN THE GAME!
Dead chat.
Administrative chat.
To clear up some confusion, RA, it's because of a pair of roleblockers that you recieved no result night 2 - while normally, you would have been protected from PoR's roleblock, Jeen also blocked your protection.
And for those interested, the cards everyone drew:
AvatarVecna: Town Roleblocking, Town JOAT, Town Protective
Caerulea: Town Protective, Town Roleblocking, Town Tracking
Valmark: Werewolf Tracking, Mafia Innocent-Looking, Town Killing
The Outsider: Town Innocent-Looking, Town Protective, Town Roleblocking
PartyOfRogues: Werewolf Tracking, Town JOAT, Town Roleblocking
gac3: Werewolf Investigative, Town Universal Backup, Town Tracking
Xihirli: Survivor Roleblocking, Town Universal Backup, Werewolf Innocent-Looking
Elenna: Alien Protective, Town Tracking, Town Investigative
Captain Cap: Mafia Killing, Town Investigative, Town Protective
rogue_alchemist: Town JOAT, Alien Tracking, Town Investigative
Apogee1: Town Investigative, Town Universal Backup, Serial Killer JOAT
JeenLeen: Town JOAT, Town Roleblocking, Mafia Innocent-Looking
CaomhinTheCape: Town Killing, Town JOAT, Mafia Universal Backup
Zelphas: Alien Tracking, Town Investigative, Town JOAT
plenty: Alien Roleblocking, Town Killing, Town ProtectiveLast edited by Unavenger; 2020-11-23 at 08:15 PM.

Re: Crazier Idea Mafia
He even got action feedback!
"The Outsider, YOU SCREAMED SUCCESSFULLY. It was very cathartic."
"The Outsider, YOU HAVE ACQUIRED A NO SOLICITING SIGN."
I approve of this style of humour, as you may be able to tell.
(Also bonus points for people capable of identifying the references in most of the death messages)

I was not aware that Unavenger was keeping track of them along with the real actions. And I'm disappointed that my No Soliciting sign didn't keep people away. But I do appreciate that I got responses back. :)
GG y'all. This was a fun one.

Re: Crazier Idea Mafia
I also find it fascinating that mafia got completely dunked on, to the point of actual nonexistence, especially since for three of the players who gave it up it was their only scumteam option. I find playing as town frustrating, and generally prefer scum given the choice.
The card draws were actually heavily against town, with only one player getting a choice of scumteams (choices of scumteams "wastes" scum cards). Some players had no choice but to be town, but with the deck I used this time, that can't actually not be true, as there just aren't enough scum cards (even if you count the SK and even the survivor as scum). Despite the terrible draws, town managed to win by some fairly solid play - not to mention the luck of destroying one scumteam just by existing. The end came fairly down to the wire and the sole alien killing role ghosting helped town, but even if they hadn't, both aliens would have needed to beat town to the 2v2 race to get their votes in first.

Re: Crazier Idea Mafia
Town did get some lucky breaks in there, felt like Aliens and Wolves hit each other a good amount. If Plenty had been around for a final kill, that could have made a big difference and it would have been a race to vote like you said.
My Night 2 watch definitely got a lot of mileage to the point of deciding between Plenty and Val.
And oh man Night 3 would have been interesting if there weren't so many blocks around.
I really like this setup and would definitely play again. Not sure how people felt about being forced into town, but there was an actual town this game so that's new!
