    G'nichi's New Home

Now that is a head-scratcher. G'nichi blinks rapidly, mentally sputtering.
I'd like to think that I'm more than a BIT dragony! G'nichi is definitely a dragon! Just a mildly fluffy one!
"Qaglin isn't a word! And aren't qilins supposed to be bringers of peace and harmony and wisdom? I don't feel very harmonic and wise. Why would Xeni have added that to me?" He turns to Kara. "Does the mustache make me look wise? It keeps growing back; I can't get rid of it."

A little bit dragony, a lot a bit dragony, aaaaaall qagliny!
Bell continues to think this is incredibly hilarious.

"I think that anything is a word if it's used enough."
    A reasonable thought from Kara.
"And maybe qilins are...umm. More magically stable? And that's why Uncle Xeni put it in?"
A possibly less reasonable thought from Kara.

"If you want peace lessons though, I'm supposed to be pretty good for that now! Mom says I'm also, hmm, 'Shalomel: The Path of Peace', I think.
Also your mustache looks great, G'nichi. I think it definitely makes you look wise. Like one of those really scholarly types who write on super long pieces of paper at libraries."

    G'nichi pointedly ignores Bell's commentary.
"Well, of everything what happened to me didn't change my name. That would be confusing."
He checks the card again to make sure some sort of complex dragon-qilin name doesn't appear on it.
"Hmm. I don't know if the rest of me really goes with a scholarly type, though." Nichi pulls at the mustache again, trying to look dignified. It might work, unless you know him at all.

G'nichi earns a big purple bow around one of his horns, with a blue, heart-shaped gem centered in it.

He does not, notably, earn a new complicated qaglin name.
It would appear this arrangement was not so cruel as to deny him that facet of his identity.

Karaglen finds the back half of his concerns a little funny though, judging by her mirthful smile.
Or maybe that's just her being mirthful in general, it does seem to be her general default state when things aren't very actively bothering her.
"Oh that's not true at all! My uncle brought me to a monastery of scholar-monks once, when I was a lot smaller, and they were all really big guys. I guess part of their daily morning routines were mixed weight-training and meditation sessions and during the evenings they explored and wrote philosophical books?"
You could be one of those, G'nichi. Super hunky book monk.

It would certainly justify his lack of armor.
"Really big guys, you say? Do you remember what monastery it was? I haven't heard of such an order." He's not thinking about joining or anything, but he's never heard of these folks.

Karaglen thinks pretty hard about this.
It was a long time ago, when she was still little enough that her uncle didn't feel comfortable leaving her behind when he went on his extraplanar trips.

This is a rather messed up concept, in principle, but she fails to notice.

"I think...maybe...the Order of the Lost Writ?"
An obscure enough group as to have no notable presence Inside, for G'nichi to be aware of. Or, really, anywhere at all outside of their monastery off-world.

G'nichi shrugs. He unconsciously mimics the movement of his shoulders with his wings which likely looks a little amusing.
"Never heard of 'em. Well uh, I guess I should be getting to bed. Don't stay up too late yourself, Kara." The paladin moves to give Kara an affectionate pat on the head.
"Your mom's probably worried about you."

    She's not.
Kara's been talking to her since before he got home.
And still is right now. Somewhere else presently in the future-no no no, don't think about it.

It might be a little weirder to see the buff dragonguy patting the head of some elfy teenager, but she doesn't seem to mind very much.
Still has a childish little giggle to go with it and everything.
"Forgot how late it was...okay, G'nichi! I'll check back in on you and the kids later! Sweet dreams!"

She's just going to give him a (normal this time) hug, before she leaves for the day, presuming he has no additional distractions to produce.
