Re: Guilty until proven innocent [OOC]
As an afterthought, he asks "Does the Pathmaker actually forbid cannibalism? I kind of stopped listening to the sermons on his teachings after 'tear down weak laws and replace them.' Not that I've ever been tempted, mind you."
In the Empire of Scales lizardmen are a large faction and they do indeed happily eat the sentient dead. There's no religious law against this. It is culturally considered barbaric and uncivilized, it's something that marks one a 'country bumpkin', poor and certainly not noble. In the southern hills it would be natural. In the center of the Empire cannibalism is frowned on to the point of getting one mocked and driven out of a community.
Killing someone for eating them is of course unlawful in the Empire. Eating the diseased is considered stupid.
EDIT: Please roll stealth. I believe Izzarra said Caex follows Chazwick so we'll go with that in the absence of other clues.Last edited by Smilex; 2020-11-25 at 05:32 PM.

Rikkan knows his in way over his head but that doesn't mean he will not sow the seeds of confusion an attempt to turn the table.

Re: Guilty until proven innocent [OOC]
Ok. At this point the lizardmen and ophidians start moving towards Atronia (with their axes). They seem to believe they'll be collectively punished severely should one of 'them' escape so they think they are forced to stop you. Yet they're not charging.
Moving decisively Atronia actually has time to break the locks before things have a chance to become a fight. If someone still has ideas on how to avert a fight you can still try to do so. You can also reposition yourselves before things get fighty. So just tell me where you want to be.
Justius and Rodrik move with Atronia to accompany her.Last edited by Smilex; 2020-11-25 at 06:15 PM.

I don't remember if I said this, but Chazwick would have wanted to take one of the ordinary daggers. Is it too late for that?

Re: Guilty until proven innocent [OOC]
You typed the code perfectly. Did you try to add it in by editing the post? The forum doesn't let you do that; you have to type it in while you're first writing the post. (I never asked, but I assume it's an anti-cheating measure.)
Anyway, as far as game mechanics, it's 1d20 plus your Dexterity mod. (I think there might be things that modify it, but I don't know of any. There was a feat for that in 3.5, but that's too weaksauce for a 5e feat.)
Edit: See? I didn't touch the code at all, and it registered as a proper roll. Let's just hope Smilex lets you use that Nat15.
Edit2: Oh, and I meant to answer your previous question, but never got around to it. Whoops? To edit your signature, go to the top-right corner of any forum page and look for a link designated "Settings." That takes you to the User Control Panel. There's a section of that page towards the bottom called "My Settings," and the link you want is there.Last edited by whiteflash; 2020-11-25 at 07:07 PM.

Re: Guilty until proven innocent [OOC]
Ok, what we've got is a nice large rumpus
Technically the initiative order is this but as we all know things happen more or less simultaneously. People don't actually wait for someone else to get a blow in before they do their own thing. People advancing with weapons, Zain casting his mage armor. A few threats here and there. It's obvious to everyone that somebody is going to get hit. The first round of battle starts and what I've got so far is:
19 Caex
18 Atronia
17 Rikkan
15 Lucia
15 Ophidians (6)
14 Coatell -
13 Zain -
12 Maria - hides Stealth 18.
11 Miranda -
10 Rodrik -
10 Chazwick -
10 Yaj'dak -
5 Justius -
4 Lizardmen(3)
Anyway, there's lots of players, lots of action so please get your attack and damage rolls in :)Last edited by Smilex; 2020-11-26 at 03:20 PM.

He wouldn't want to... but it's starting to look like he hasn't got much choice.
[dice]1d20+5[/dice] to hit.
[dice]1d4+3[/dice] to hurt.
Can I hold off on picking a target until my turn comes up? Either way, just assume (provisionally or otherwise) that he stabs the nearest non-Ambrosia brandishing a weapon. (Natural weapons count.)Active Characters:

Re: Guilty until proven innocent [OOC]
The branch is an improvised club. No proficiency bonuses, d6 damage. Strength bonus +3.
The ophidians were already worshippers of Pathmaker, they didn't actually change religions :)
But your devoutness appealed to them and that's why they're not immediately joining the fight as fast as the lizardmen. They feel for you so they wait six seconds before hitting you with an axe :)Last edited by Smilex; 2020-11-26 at 12:30 PM.

Re: Guilty until proven innocent [OOC]
What I'm thinking is, the slaves are just demanding we leave.
Maybe we could do just that.
Then try to sneak back again later.
But.. yeah. maybe a bit too meta to do now, too risky.

Re: Guilty until proven innocent [OOC]
Well, within the six seconds where everything is happening right now, at least one of the slaves is getting an arrow that's making them bleed on the ground, the lizardmen will be hitting somebody with an axe and Lucia will react with a firebolt. The ideas that the slaves have could change at that point.
Btw, could I get the attack and damage rolls with that? :)
EDIT:
ALSO, the second round is about to start. Please feel free to announce actions and roll everyone!Last edited by Smilex; 2020-11-26 at 03:18 PM.
