    Roger, doubting that he can hit the demon at all and unable to ride closer, shoots just one arrow this time. It seems to make no difference as the arrow hits the roof just inches from the demon's paw.

    All of the attacks from Sanamin, Thargril, and Roger miss. The tide must turn soon!

    Erizat finishes off the swarm with a blast of cold and locusts crunch under her feet.

    The pedestrian that attacked Ripper is still alive, so he gets attacked and Stomper whinnies confusedly.

    Roger was indeed very, very close to hitting the demon.
    Ripper successfully chomps and the man falls to the ground.
    The demon misses once, then pincers Sanamin for 7hp and stings for 10hp. Please make a Fort save.

    The demon's attack leaves Sanamin bloodied but conscious and willing to stay in the fight, when suddenly the poison running through his veins knocks him out. As he falls limp in the saddle, Thargril feels more alone than ever before on this rooftop.

    Rosalyn fails to climb the wall, but is farther from Erizat, in case she attacks nearest.

    Ripper's pedestrian opponent slumps to the ground.

    The battle in the tavern continues noisily.

    Thargril withdraws from the demon and then climbs down the building. He looks at Rosalyn, then at Sanamin, then back to Rosalyn.

    Roger babbles incoherently, but with great enthusiasm.

    Erizat's turn, attack nearest pedestrian, then Ripper finishes off his pedestrian and Stomper steps on his own foot for d8+Str bonus.

    Roger's feels very enthusiastic about the course of the battle and, he thinks, proposes a great plan how to kill all the demons, but you cannot make any sense of it. Perhaps there is not any. Also, Roger is happily oblivious to the fact that his pet dinosaur just rips apart an innocent man. His horse hitting its foot too hard against the cobblestones seems to be the least of the as of yet unnoticed problems...

    Just as suddenly as Erizat's focus had turned to the innocent bystanders, it returns to the demon. Leaving a trail of her own frozen blood in her wake, the whitehaired fey races down the street, pouring the last of her magical energy into her spear.

    The demon realizes its mistake far too late as it is surrounded and pounded from all sides. Clearly this would be the time to surrender or try to escape, but it does neither. It screams in desperate agony and prepares to strike as many foes as possible.

    But first, Ripper acts normally and Stomper attacks nearest (which unfortunately is a random peasant in the wrong direction.) (That peasant will fight back if he is still conscious. Confusion makes you do stupid things. Hopefully it ends soon.)

    The peasant, who had been beating up a shopkeeper in a haze of confusion, gets bitten in the back and slumps to the ground.

    The demon, now frantic to take Thargril, tries to smack Erizat, sting Rosalyn, and grapple Thargril. The battle may very well turn on these next several rolls.

    The demon saves vs. staggering.

    Thargril is hit (20 to hit) for 8 and grappled. (The demon will probably dump Sanamin and fly off with Thargril next round, you think.)
    The demon rolls a 16 to hit Erizat (unless he's under a penalty against her that I have to go back and check.) 4 damage if that hits.
    Rosalyn is stung (25 to hit) for 11 damage and needs to make a Fort (poison) save, regardless of whether she is conscious or not, as thick, greasy fluid oozes out of her wound.

    Sanamin has to make another Fort save vs. poison and it's Rosalyn's turn.

    Whew! Brutal!

    Rosalyn feels like her intestines are burning and might fall out at any moment, but she fights through the pain without missing a beat. Stacked with bonuses, she almost can't miss, but somehow does. Today has been terrible.
    Sanamin also resists the poison, but in an unconscious spasm in his saddle. (One success each.)
    Brave but confused Erizat is knocked unconscious. Will she join Malik and the many cityfolk in the hereafter or will someone save her?

    Thargril's turn, still with flanking, but grappled.
    Roger, seeing clearly, may also go. (Possibly shooting into a grapple. Let me know if that slows him down.)
    Erizat, make a bleeding-to-death save.
    Stomper and Ripper act normally as well.

    "Charge, Ripper! Let's finish that demon!" Roger commands as he guides Stomper to also charge at the same target. The animals finally obey. Not quite trusting his ability to shoot straight from a galloping mount and even less thrusting in his ability to harm the demon with spiked gauntlet attack, Roger does what he considers the next best thing - trying to make sure the downed allies are stable.

    All of Thargril's, Ripper's and Stomper's attacks fail to connect. Stomper is galloping so hard that Roger can't get the words out for Stabilize, even if he thought either of his allies was bleeding out.

    The demon, on his turn, successfully maintains the grapple on Thargril and flies upward, provoking from Rosalyn, Stomper, and Ripper. Sanamin stays in his saddle.

    After all of those attacks, it will be Rosalyn's turn against a foe flying 15 feet in the air, trying to escape with Thargril (and Sanamin, technically.)

    Rosalyn and Sanamin need to make a second consecutive Fort save to ignore the rest of the poison.

    Ripper's bite misses, but Stomper's hoof causes the demon's head to snap backwards briefly - the perfect opportunity for Rosalyn and she doesn't miss. A quick strike with her blade cleanly severs the head from the neck and as it rolls toward Erizat the look of surprise doesn't fade. The wings carry the dino duo upward momentarily, falter, and crash to the ground, possibly causing the poison in Sanamin's chest to flare up again.

    Ezora stealthfully peers out from the damaged entrance and says, "this one's down, but just barely. Yokthrok is badly hurt and Margaretta doesn't look so great either. Oh...Erizat?"
