Fronaldo will retrieve his map of the Muwangi expanse, a pen and ink. He will turn the map over and make a crude map of their exploration so far into Tazion.

So, Fronaldo might have the excitement, but ....

Fronaldo's use of the map of the Mwangi Expanse ... and his geographical expertise in concert ... really is about larger area geographical skill.

The best "mapping crew" is going to be consisting of two parts, the survey experts and the actual cartographer who takes those inputs.

Gelik is actually your best surveyor, only then aided by Fronaldo.

Tor-ber is the group's only trained cartographer (which is far more than most groups, really).

So, it should be Tor-ber with the map to draw, and Gelik and Fronaldo making notes.

This means that this central group would in turn be protected by Aronnahar, Pim, and Xhanfaerd as the other three are too busy and focused on their task to be really alert for dangers.

So, what I gave was a list of the objective "best people for job" .... which each of you do know (as you've worked with each other for a couple months now) .... but sometimes egos make people steer off track because they just "wanna." Do you follow that cartograhic advice?

Pim will suggest he takes a surveyor task, instead of guard duty. He might not be the top spotter in the group, but he is better at it than he is at handling ambushes. If Fron , or Gelik feel at all up to the task of guard duty, Pim would swap, but if not, he will promise to do his best.

When not using his map to deal with larger-Mwangi geography, Fronaldo and Pim are actually evenly matched, so this can make sense.

What do you (plural) think of my suggestion, but with Pim as Gelik's aide?

Fronaldo’s heightened state makes him want to move and it is difficult to focus on menial tasks. He readily agrees with Pim. He will give Tor-ber the map and pen, if he needs them.

The remainder of the day's work is going to be needed to withdraw the way you came, mapping ..... and then going around the enclosure wall a second time to actually map it this time (because, no, you don't get to "map from memory" to scale as you need).

At this point, it is definitely time to go back to camp again.

Aron recommends withdrawing a half-mile from Tazion to be well clear and to not have any cookfires seen or smelled easily, as fires are still needed to help ward off disease. It is too late today to begin hunting foraging, so food will come from rations. Aron will ask that Fronaldo share a ration with Gelik, who seems to have run out. Meanwhile, she will provide fresh water for the camp.

While neither are actual physicans, Aron will aid Pim's knowledge of battlefield medicine to get a sense of how badly everyone is wounded...
Pim: Light wound (> 75%). Healed after CLW from Aron.
Tor-ber: Light wound (>75%). Healed after CLW from Aron.
Xhanfaerd: Medium wounds (~75%). With one CMW from Aron, he has superficial wounding that should be good overnight.

Tonight's watch rotation will be ...
    First section: Fronaldo & Gelik
    2nd section: Tor-ber & Aron
    3rd setion: Xhanfaerd & Pim.

Before people get to their own things or sleep, Aron has the group do some training...
Pim will be conducting mana gathering meditation by himself.
Tor-ber and Xhanfaerd will do strength and stamina training together. Surprisingly, little Gelik does Gelik-sized strength-training along with them. One doesn't know whether to laugh at him or applaud him, though in truth he is (a hair) stronger than the average gnome.
Though he plays with his knives the whole time, Aron and Fronaldo try to discuss what they discovered from the actions of the charau-ka to get a sense of what kind of society they might have.

In that little sliver of time before you go to bed (or go on watch), does anyone do anyone of particular note, or make any particular actions (answer here or with "no" in Discord?

Fronaldo will seek out Pim first to see if he can aid the goblin in cleaning an excessive amount of Charau-ka blood from his clothing. If unsuccessful, he will check with Aron next and so on. Tired from a long day and grateful for the first watch, he keeps his little crossbow handy as he hides just outside of camp; hopeful a nighttime jungle denizen should stop by for a late night snack...for Fronaldo!

Fronaldo might find an insect here or there, and maybe something here or there plant-wise to munch on, but he does not find, collect, or snack on any effective value or quantity of jungle-provided comestibles.

Gelik cleans Pim well with prestidigitation.

The night goes by uneventfully. The thing to note about a jungle is that it is LOUD. A jungle at night is not a quiet affair with people holding their breath in semi-silence. So, if something comes calling, having a redoubt that you've created is going to be far more valuable than thinking you will notice something in the darkness while the nightime jungle sounds mask the sounds of approach. That said, the jungle does not care for fire and the quieter bubble of camp helps. Insects come calling, of course, but the whole purpose of the fire is to attract them to that point (which is why fire - even in a hot jungle - is ALWAYS a good idea), as they are a major factor of people catching diseases.

Then he folds like a house of cards and follows the majority....unless Aron pleads her case more forcefully and then he backs her play...

Tor-ber speaks up, "Given our discussion and realignment to mapping yesterday, I feel that we should go in and move around the periphery trails, not only for mapping but to make sure as we continue along to more central areas, we again don't find ourselves in the middle of things where - if they have any organization - they could descend upon us en masse from any direction.

It is about this time .... breakfast has been had, people's morning routines finished. Using jungle camouflage to hide the camp (because it is silly to fully break down and rebuild each day), and discussion is underway (as above), that everyone thinks they hear distant noises. A great cacophany of screeching in the distance, and some other strange noises, like distant thunder, but the daily rain is many hours off, and it doesn't seem like the right weather for thunder and lightning.
