Screech bundles up some ice from the cool cave's moisture, and hurls it at the group of minions around the boss. Upon impact, the ice would shatter and explode outwards, hopefully dealing precious damage to the clumped up enemies.

Screech launches an ice projectile against the newt in dark robes! But misses the magic attack. The ice shatters and the soldier newts near the boss suffer damage from the cold sharpnel!

Newt #8 spits fire against the barbarian Rever! He needs to pass a Dexterity saving throw, DC 11 or suffer (2d8)[10] fire damage. Half the damage, in case of success.

The bandit archer turned prisoner, Kyro, will run to the newt that Robert killed and pick up the creature’s scimitar! “Aha! Now I have a weapon!” He celebrates!

Firenewt #3, who was nearly dead, disengages from Zophar and jumps into the pond. The water gets dark with oil-like blood and the enemy disappears from sight!

    ---Round 3---

The rock-like creature that was being used as a table for the dice game starts moving about! It was kicked by one of the newts who shouted angry instructions at it. It seems to join the fray.

The derro spellcaster, Hubrix, dies from his fiery wounds.

At the death of the hatless caster, the newt-boss seems to laugh with joy! He then commands the flaming sphere to ram against the now armed Kyro! The black mud archer falls down and is dying from the flames.

Not quite satisfied with his vile killings, the newt caster conjures the Fire Bot cantrip to strike Robert! (1d20+4)[20], damage (1d10)[8]

Newt #5 will strike Rever twice with scimitar attacks!

Robert turns into a veritable whirlwind of motion. He slashes ferociously at the weakened firenewts, hoping to thin the numbers. A first goes down, and Robert gives Zophar a nod of thanks since he did most of the work.

Turning, Robert backs up a little to get a running start and then launches into a flying leap over the little pond. His sword swings out again in midair, and strikes a mortal blow on the newt that had been attempting to pincer Rever against the wall.

Robert lands and continues his dash towards the fire newt boss. He charges in and goes for the throat.

Screech’s aim failed this time! The magic stone flies too high and hits the cave wall instead of the target.

Seeing the boss under attack, newt#8 moves towards Robert and attacks!

It then retreats back into the tunnel, leaving his guard open for a brief moment.

Near the entrance of the room, the archer bandit Kyro dies, due to the flame injuries.
The leader of the newts laughs with wicked joy when the magic ball of fire kills another victim. “Hahahaha!” With a gesture of his hand, the flaming sphere moves and slams against the fighter, Robert!

Robert is starting to breathe hard, which is unusual for an air genasi. He has enemies on three sides and a ball of fire behind him that is decidedly too close for comfort. He comments briefly to Zophar beside him, "And now a slog through a dark tunnel. Wonderful. Let's do this."

He can't move forward so long as this one newt is still in front of him, though. Robert shoves the newt aside using his shield and large bulk. He swings wildly at the newt behind to try to fend off any backstabbing, but whiffs. But he steps up towards the tunnel.

With a violent shield slam, Rever knocks down the newt! With the defenseless enemy on the ground, it’s easy for the bararian to finish off the orange creature! Newt #6 has died.

The druid, Screech, caws and hurls another magic pebble against the orange-skinned enemies!

In response, one of the firenewts blocking the tunnel will step forward and attack Robert!

Meanwhile, the leader of the firenewts will make an arcane gesture pointing at the skull-lamp in the middle of the cave chamber. Suddenly, the light goes out! And the room becomes engulfed in darkness, save for the light emanating from the ball of fire.

The ball of fire moves west, flying over Robert’s head! and the newt leader flees further into the tunnel.

Zophar continues his inexorable march forward, slashing ferociously at the nearest newt while leering at the others.

Zophar marches forward and attacks a firenewt twice! His first blow is defended by the enemy’s volcanic buckler, but the second blow is a hit opening a huge wound at the creature’s side! “Yaaakk--!!” It looks nearly dead.

This same creature, having suffered so much damage, disengages from combat and jumps into the pond, fleeing from the battle!

Another one of firenewts, that was engaged with the genasi Robert, follows the same strategy and jumps into the pond to flee!

Newts #1 and #9 have fled from combat.

Robert's torch he'd dropped at the east entrance seems to be flickering and the room is in danger of going into darkness, it seems. Thankfully, the fire-newts seem to also be fading.

Robert decides to punish the one in front of him for sticking around. "Your friends made a wiser choice," he says, before slashing out twice with his sword.

I think the torch was dropped at Q10 when Robert drew his sword? But I get it that we'll need more light if the sphere goes away as we continue down the tunnel.

Robert isn't gonna move but attacks twice with the scimitar on newt #8: (1d20+7)[8] for (1d6+4)[9] slashing damage.
And again: (1d20+7)[23] for (1d6+4)[8] slashing damage. And I have him at 15hp left after that newt did hit once for 4 damage.

The skillful fighter, Robert, cuts the firenewt in half! His only remaining friend screams in horror! “AAAHH!!

The last standing firenewt turns around and runs into the dark tunnel, fleeing from combat.

The boulder-creature, left alone, speaks in the terran language that Robert understands.
Me surrenders!” It drops the bone club and curls up into its rocky shell, becoming indistinguishable from an ordinary boulder.

    Newt #8 died.
    Newt #2 fled.

Zophar pats the genasi on the back, infusing a bit of vitality back into the fighter.

"Good job. As soon as we catch our breath, we should finish off the leader."

The dragonborn intends to give chase after the warlock's ball of flame winks out.

As he bulls past Robert and Zophar -- and the burning sphere -- Rever growls out, "Get some light going!" It looks like he's ready to rush the leader, if that notable was foolish enough to stay nearby.
