"All right then- Oh!" Their conversation being rudely cut short, Kara started up her new tune to teach their unwelcome interlocutors a lesson.

And just like that the creature fell apart before even fully emerging, the clattering of falling bones ringing through the hallway.
The scratching from the other coffin continues but grows no worse or louder. What ever is contained inside, it’s escape seems to come no closer.

Nothing stands in your path leading back towards the exit and your comrades above, Greeter however, in his curiosity and yearning for understanding, urges you to go on just a little bit further.

[Estralita]

"That was simple," Kara said with satisfaction. This new tune may be creepy and slightly discordant, but it seemed to pack a punch.

Greeter's words drew her attention. "Oh, I'm dying to know too. But I've been trapped and
chained up for a while,and would really enjoy a chance to relax first. And bathe," Kara replied with a smile. "Besides, don't you want to see what's outside as well?"

[Pyrophilios]

"Than it's decided. Let's had out, get some rest and come back once we are back at our peak."
Lanius replied, moving back towards the exit.

[Holy-hunter]

“No! Don’t leave me here.” the voice snaps suddenly, echoing powerfully in your mind. It’s sudden tone of rage or fear quickly subsided to something more amicable as it pleaded. “Please come and help me, I have been trapped here fo so long... just a little further.”

[Pyrophilios]

"Have you ever heard about informed consent? Who the frag are you, what is this place and why are you trapped here.
And honestly, if you've been trapped here for so long, you won't mind if we come back tomorrow. Someone with good intentions certainly won't mind disclosure - especially about the dangers that lurk around here."
Lanius was angry now, his weariness for the moment forgotten.

Aelia Smith Human Artificer AC: 19 HP: 27/28 PP: 11 PIv: 16 PIs: 11 Conditions: -- Concentration: -- Aelia just looks at Lanius in a rather puzzled way. She hadn't expected him to, of all things, argue about the situation with the probably-a-ghost.

Kara tilted her head in confusion." You saved me without knowing any of those things."

[Pyrophilios]

"Well, it wasn't like you lured us in and made skelletons jump out at us, did you?"
Lanius replied, obviously not mentioning that the vision of a chained girl triggered a much more pronounced impulse for rescue than the telepatic croaking of what was most likely some kind of Lich.

[Holy-hunter]

You hear nothing else from the voice, neither echoing off the walls or in your head.
The continuous scratching in the coffin carries on but posses no threat.
Greeter makes an observation. "I feel more alive the further we follow the voice." he said curiously. His one eye eagerly taking in the surroundings as you walk with him. His constant and sharp swivelling head shifting his weight around testing Aelia's balance. He seems to be full of questions.

"What is out side?" he asks.
"How big is it?"
"How many doors are there?"
"Are there other greeters?"

There are no further disturbances as you leave. The small compulsion not to go through the door is no longer there.
As before its slightly disorientating going through the magical door, but you appear where you expect to be. In the underground room with three pathways. The magical door at your back that appears to have reset, a tunnel that leads to the secret bed entrance, and a tunnel that you guess leads to the windmill but has signs of shadow cat habbitation.

[Pyrophilios]

"Let's get back the way we came - no need to get into trouble on our way out. I really could do with something to eat and a nap right now."
Lanius said, while heading back to the bedroom entrance.
To greeter he said: "You'll see. But I don't think there are other greeters like you anywhere close."

Aelia Smith Human Artificer AC: 19 HP: 27/28 PP: 11 PIv: 16 PIs: 11 Conditions: -- Concentration: -- "I assume we're going back to discover whatever that was when we're done with lunch?" Aelia asks, incredibly curious about it. She only hadn't insisted they push on because Lanius was clearly quite injured and tired.

You arrive back at the inn.
Garret the middle age coachman greets you from the rooftop and drops a ladder down. An endless wift of smoke raising from his pipe as he studies you with concern. Clearly noticing two new unfamiliar figures and the absence of another. His face seems stained with the lines of constant long held concern.

Corey the short stocky hairy man and his large silent Goliath friend Bok were scavenging supplies down in the courtyard. They give you a passing glance as you make your way down the roofs and ladders.

Meanwhile inside
The Old Man had set up a table in the corner and was looking over books and making notes.
Daisy the strange small plant creature seemed to be sleeping nearby him underneath a window.

Eisha was nowhere to be seen.

Gaider was resting on a makeshift bed. Looking much better than before.

Kara smiled brightly and waved."Hello!"

[Pyrophilios]

"You can fill them in about what happened. I've got a wound to see to and then I'll take the mother of all naps." Lanius replied, while he already headed to where the supplies had been collected, looking for a healer's bag and some ointment.

[Ramsus]

Aelia Smith Human Artificer AC: 19 HP: 27/28 PP: 11 PIv: 16 PIs: 11 Conditions: -- Concentration: -- Aelia nods, taking a lack of response to her earlier question as an affirmative, and greets the others and then regales them with the tale of all they missed. Complete with frequent self-interruptions to go on some minor tangent.

“Interesting choice of clothes” Garret says to the matching group after greeting Kara and introducing himself with a formal bow.

Lanius eventually finds the supplies he needs.

Corey and Bok, always keen for a story, follow Aelia in and listen while making repairs to some plate armour they found. It reeks of death and Bok finds the source, pulling a decaying hand out of the gauntlet.

The old man takes an immediate fascination with greeter. His curious inquisition and occasional questions to the warforged interrupting Aelias story.

Daisy listens on with concern. She makes it known the magic of this place is not natural. It ‘feels’ wrong, twisted even. She studies Kara suspiciously.

Garret reports seeing unusual movement in the trees, or of the trees. Others had heard dogs barking. Corey mentions that there’s a creature in the barn, but not how or why he knows this.

[Estralita]

Kara turned to Daisy with concern. "I'm so sorry, do I know you? I'm embarrassed to admit this, but I don't remember much of anything since waking up. Well, I remember things like stories and songs, but not people, or much about myself."

[Holy-hunter]

Daisy switched back to her usual bright friendly cheerful self.
“I am daisy.” the small plant creature states while handing over a good berry. She then asks what everyone was thinking.
“How long have you been sleeping for?”
Then she realises the futility of her question and changes it.
“Ooh, can you sing us a song?”

So I'm back to 10 HP and one level of exhaustion.

Short rest alone won't fix me

Lanius carefully peeled down the bloody pants leg. The bite looked even uglier than he had feared. The poison had caused an allergic reaction, making the wound feel hot to the touch. At least the small healing from Aelia had prevented an infection.
Lanius did what he could, put a fresh dressing on and looked for a somewhat quiet place to get a bit of sleep. He felt bone tired and entirely out of sorts.

While you were searching the house the others have been picking through the inn. Still, there were bits and rooms to pick from. After a couple of hours scavenging, inspecting, cleaning equipment and convincing the others to contribute, this is what you had.

Garret found a Longbow of exotic craftsmanship on the roof that was too difficult for him to draw. He may have also found some tobacco that he has claimed for himself.

“This is for me.” She says nodding to the backpack. “This is for you.” She says handing over a wand to the group.

When Lanius came back from his nap, he felt better, but far from good. Nonetheless, the rest had allowed him to actually relax a bit - and he promptly had found that the magic potential, that he always had known he had, finally had come. Maybe it was the stress, maybe it was the stimulating effect of fighting for your life. But now he could access a trickle of that power, that his mother possessed in abundance. The first thing he did was create some more sustenance, fortifying himself with magical berries.
That done, he came out to take a look at the piles of gear that the others had found so far.
"Do you think, you can repair that Studded Leather Armor? It certainly looks better than my current one."

Then he turned to Aelia: "I see you are working on a new armor, would you mind if I take the breastplate for now? When we go back down there, I want to be better prepared."

[Estralita]

Kara cheerfully ambled towards the group, carrying an armload of things that seemed useful or just caught her eye. Then she saw the wand. Before anyone could react, Kara was smack in the middle of the group, trying to grab the wand. Her new items lay in a forgotten heap a few yards away.

"EEEE! A magic wand! I've always wanted a magic wand! What kind of wand is it?! A fireball wand?! A disguise wand?! Please tell me it's a disguise wand!

Everyone goes about there business after claiming their own bits and bobs. Nervous tension rises amongst all as night draws nearer. Still, no sign of Isah the snobby half elf or the other caravan.

Corey finds some wine and with the help of Bok gets to work on the studded leather armour. Their working and bickering rings out from the small shed in the courtyard.

Gaider eventually comes around and questions each of you one by one about everything you saw and herd down in the hidden lair. Wisdom check if you want to impress her.

Unsurprised by your answers and with direct questions, it appears that Gaider knows more than she is telling.

The old man is examining greeter while frantically scribbling notes and occasionally asking Daisy for confirmation on mechanical theories.
(Daisy is apparently proficient with tinker tools.) Suddenly he lets out a startling shout.

Eisha gave Kara the wand with a shrug before taking off to a private room. Garret goes back to the roof to continue lookout duties.

In Kara’s hand the wand seems strangely familiar and it doesn’t take her too long to figure out how to activate it. It vibrates and shifts in her hand, pointing down towards the cellar.

I think the armor Corey and Bok are working on would work better for me, if they feel they can spare it for me." Aelia replied to Lanius, though clear enough that Corey and Bok could hear her too. "I'd help them, but I have my own project I need to finish." she added. Over the next hour or so, aside from asking Daisy for a goodberry, she spent the entire time working on a rather unusual product. The kind of thing she absolutely couldn't have shown off in the superstitious city of Brance. In truth she was mainly just putting the already forged pieces together and imbuing them with more of her magic. A process that had been slowly done from the start, which had given the steel its golden color. Of course for all that effort, now was the time she had to really push her magical abilities to the limits, because creating a form of intelligent life was no minor feat. There was no bright flash of light or anything quite so flashy as that to signal its completion. Rather, the magically hardened green stained glass lit up from inside as magic imbued vaporous essence contained within gradually gained luminescence as the nearly man sized mechanical spider slowly came to life. Aelia took a moment to have some water, a small bite to eat, and generally recuperate from the feat of creation she had just performed. And when the mechanical spider finally turned to her, signalling its awareness of its surroundings and sensing its bond to her, she greeted it, "Welcome to the world Aurum! I am your creator, Aelia Smith. And these here and my companions." She then went around introducing Aurum to everyone, perhaps intentionally ignoring it if anyone was unnerved by the presence of the man sized magical mechanical spider, or perhaps just failing to pick up on it because she was thrilled at her success. When the old man shouts, Aelia quickly rushes over to see what has occurred.

but didn't comment. He was a lot more impressed by the mechanical companion, that Aelia now presented. "Impressive. I gather you took some clues about Greeter's function to get this going?"
To their new companion he said: "What does that wand do? I'm using a sprig of mistletoe for magic now. I assume you are using the wand?"

The question was interrupted when the old man screemed. Lanius uncermoniously drew his rapier and ran toward where it sounded.

[Holy-hunter]

”There’s a rat in there and it bit me!” The old man exclaimed furiously, one hand shaking in the air while the other reached for a small hammer.
Greeter immediately brought his own hands up to block his eye socket and defend the mouse.
No, no, no... he said, realising what was going on.

“Ya can’t have rodents running round in ya head messing up all your cogs.” the old man insisted.
He looks to Aelia for agreement.

The wand in Kara’s hand was clearly pointing to something that must be in the cellar. It quickly went back to normal. (1 charge has been expelled.)
