Aelia Smith Human Artificer AC: 19 HP: 27/28 PP: 11 PIv: 16 PIs: 11 Conditions: -- Concentration: -- In response to Lanius' question Aelia shakes her head negatively, "No, actually I-" then seeing the display of the old man and Greeter and the mouse gives Lanius a blank look, "No." she finishes flatly. At Lanisus' report of heard something upstairs, she takes this as an opportunity to not get further involved in the "should a machine man let a mouse live in his machine brain" conversation and volunteers, "Well Aurum, let's have you take point yeah? See what you're capable of." and immediately heads to go upstairs with Aurum just a bit ahead of her. Spoiler: List of loot Aelia wants to take Show -The damaged remains of Plate armor (to be turned into Half-Plate) -Cold Weather Outfit -Warhammer (unless someone would make better use of the optional two-handed property, in which case she'll take the Morningstar) -Ink vials (does anyone else need any?) -Merchant's scale -Waterskin -Potion of healing -Silver bar (in hopes of getting enough to silver someone's weapon at some point or is one bar enough?) -Small piece of phosphorus (I imagine it has some kind of use for her?) -Feather of exotic origin -An iron holy symbol devoted to an unknown god (unless someone else has some kind of actual use for it) -The books (though I'm aware other PCs/maybe NPCs also want them and we'll want to share. She has her own books people might want to read too.) -Money? (I dunno, how would we be dividing this? I also assume the star rose quartz go into this, unless they're a component of a spell someone has/will have? Also maybe true of the tobacco unless one of the NPCs smokes, but if so that should count against their share of the money.) Notes: Didn't claim the antitoxin because it probably makes more sense for Lanius? Same with a few other items like the snowshoes. She'd try to claim all of the food/cooking items (including wine and such) as the group's cook, but would I even put those on my sheet? Since I imagine most would just be in the wagon. Same goes for the wax. I feel like someone else should claim the broken tiny mechanical crab or spider for Aelia to fix later. Given she already has a working one. I assume the group is collectively keeping everything none of the PCs mention right? Since a lot of that seems like stuff that's just handy for the group to have as a whole.

"A rug?" Lanius managed to wonder, before the furniture started to attack and he was forced to defend himself.

How quickly things could change when you were an adventurer! One moment you're collecting strange and magical items, the next you were fighting a rug monster.

Kara felt a somehow familiar thrill of excitement and fear as she saw the rug creature. She may not remember why she went adventuring, but seeing unusual things like that was enough of a reason of her. That being said, she pulled out her drum and recalled the strange new tune that could blast the thing back.

With a lot of click clack noises of its metallic appendages against the wooded floor, Aurum tries to shred the rug while Aelia slams her hammer down at it. The rug got off an attack against Lanius before Kara’s bolt sent into into the wall and Aelia and her metallic spider rushed it.

Lanius takes 4 damage

The rug struck at Aelia but the steel defender deflected the attack.
The rug is looking quite damaged.
There is enough room for you all to surround it.

She was pleased to see Aurum was pretty effective too. Lanius took the pain in stride and retaliated with another slash across the fabric, where he assumed it would be weakest.

Kara squealed slightly at the power of her new spell. Directly dealing damage still felt strange, much less blasting things across a room. Let's see if she could pull it off twice.

The team was not yet unified, unable to read each others movements they distracted each other while passing or stepping in to strike. Despite surrounding the highly animated rug only Aelia landed a hit on its slithering form.

Finally, finally, Lanius managed to catch the disobedient rag and slash it from left to right.

"Yes, seems like this isn't the only thing that has come alive. Hopefully this awakening of furniture isn't contagious."

Lanius slices the rug in half and ends it’s fake life.
It looks like it was once a nice rug.

The sound from down the short corridor is noticeable to all now, coming from the end room.

"Alright, onward to the next I assume. If you don't mind I'll switch to the bow and let your spider take point."
Lanius indicated at the new bruise he had sustained.
"Ready when you are."

The heavy scuffing sound does not change as you near the room. It seems to be circling around inside. The door is closed and opens inward, away from you.
The mechanical spider is at the door.
The corridor is 10ft wide.

If a fight takes place in the doorway there will be a cover penalty for attacking over the steel defender and into the doorway.

Far larger than the rug, a bed frame crawls about, it pauses as the door opens.

Kara didn't hesitate in her attack, although maybe she should have, considering the possibility of hitting Aelia's spider machine. But too late for regrets.

Aelia calls out because.... what else are you going to do while literally fighting furniture? Aurum strikes out at it and since Aelia can't get into melee with it at the moment, fires forth a dart of flames. The large heavy solid bed comes slamming down toward Aurum with a thunderous force.

The table looks pretty battered already. It proved fairly easy to hit despite being slightly concealed by Aurum and the doorway.

Kara can’t seem to land a hit, meanwhile the others continue to blow off chunks and splinters with every attack..
The bed slams itself down at the steel defender once again.

Trying not to get frustrated, Kara plastered a smile on her face and tried once again to blast the thing back and open up some space.

Kara finally lands a hit and clears some space, shattering one of the beds main supports with her blast and causing it to crumble into a lifeless wooden pile.

The battle is over. Nothing else appears to be moving that shouldn’t.


There is a slight commotion coming from back downstairs otherwise all is still.

After poking a few random objects in the room with her sword just to make sure they wouldn't spring to life, she heads back downstairs to see what the noise was about down there.
