Lanius looked if some of the arrows were still useful before quickly rushing after Aelia, back down the stairs
"It's one thing after the other around here..."

By the time you get back down stairs what
ever was going on is now over.
Eisha has a bright cut across her cheek just below her left eye. Daisy looks a little frazzled and is missing a few leaves, meanwhile, oblivious to your presence the old man is stomping away at what appears to be the remains of a clay pitcher.

Daisy looks to you with hope and concern filling her eyes equally.
”The not nice magic has been getting worse since you came back.”

A silent pause takes the room as all eyes fall to you.

“What do we do now?” The old man asks.

[Pyrophilios]

"I don't know, but I have a guess: The undead thing below the house is likely sending out a message to us so we return."
Lanius let his rapier swing a bit before sighing: "No rest for the wicked, eh. Let's get back down there and end this, before it gets worse around here."

Aelia Smith Human Artificer AC: 19 HP: 27/28 PP: 11 PIv: 16 PIs: 11 Conditions: -- Concentration: -- Aelia shrugs and replies, "Ok, just give me a moment." And uses her tools and magic to fix the damage to Aurum. Spoiler Show Casting Mending on Aurum until they're back at full hp.

Before you leave greeter asks if you will be taking him along.
As focus shifts to greeter the old man takes a short gasp as he remembers something he wanted to tell you. Then uncertainty takes his wrinkled face and his brows furrow in concern.

”Ah,” he begins, scratching the back of his head. ”Well you see, it appears greeter has spent quite some time nonfunctional, turned off, dead. And well, it’s. Its ummm... it’s a bit of a miracle he is working at all now. I can’t work it out.”

His wise eyes say what his words can’t in front of the robot. He worries what would happen to him if the animating magic ceased. As long as it appears that one of you understood his concern he nods a farewell.

After finally taking down that darn bed, Kara followed the others in silently anticipating the next stage of the adventure. Something bid was going to happen, she could feel it. And Kara was going to be there when it happened.

All that fell away when they met with Greeter. Guilt and worry coursed though her, especially as the man explained his concerns regarding Greeter's chances of continued existence. Still she tried to keep a smile, and asked Greeter cheerfully," What do you want to do? My friends are always welcome with me, but if you'd prefer to stay in the sunshine up here, I won't be mad."

Lanius shrugged at the implication. He had a pretty solid stance on all of this: Every danger to the expedition had to be eliminated - everything else was secondary.
Still, he kept his mouth shut as they waited for Greeter's answer.

[Holy-hunter]

If greeter understood the the old mans insinuations, he showed no concern for the risks to himself, but looked to Kara with the same compassionate concern the old man gave to him.

”I would very much like to come with you and see what is beyond that door.” Greeter says softly but with a hint of determination.

Gaider approaches the group and removes the pouch attached to her hip and hands it to you. It clinks with the sound of vials inside.Since I’m not going with you, take this. It is our last. Be careful but end what ever is causing this. Try and be back by night fall. I’ll watch things here.
Her concern has evidently been growing as the hours pass and her close friend remains absent.

Corey and Bok continue to work on the armour.
Eisha is lounging around.
Garret seems to be taking stock and storing items away. Seemingly concerned about them coming to life.
Daisy and the old man approach you quickly before you leave.

”s,sorry. I feel there are some choices that need to be made.
1. First, someone needs to be in charge of the food supplies.
2. Secondly, we need a guided structure for lookouts.
3. Last, if we are not needed, me and daisy might possibly be able to help by either studying the magic of this place, studying the history of the people here or even preparing a potion.“

Lanius shrugged:
"Well, I would have recommended Daisy to be in charge of food, although now that we can produce goodberries, we shouldn't have to worry too much about that.
The lookout is easy: One hour each, drawing lots when everyone has to stand. Rotating pattern. That shoud ensure everybody gets enough sleep and can take care of other chores too.
But yeah, keep at it. Hopefully, once we are back, we'll have some additional answers about what's going on here."

It’s easy enough to get back to your location unhindered (mostly) one of the doorknobs in the house did try to bite you.
Approaching the hallway you were last in, a strange raspy sound causes you to pause and peer around the corner.



The undead creature is standing over an open coffin looking at the creature inside. You can’t see it but it’s hand seems to be caressing the face of the deceased.

Lanius held up a hand as the group neared the undead. Silently creeping closer, he listened and looked on if there was more than the obvious threat.

[Holy-hunter]

You remain unnoticed, and notice all the coffin lids are open. You can can see the path this particular undead took from its own coffin to the rest, seemingly searching each one.
There is a stirring in the coffin it stands over and a soft scratching further down from another.

"Cover me."
Lanius stepped around the corner and called out: "Oy. We are back - no sudden moves or we'll turn you into a well roasted Kebap."

[Holy-hunter]

The undead creature turns to face you. It’s hollow drawn back face of decaying leathery skin holds two milkywhite eyes that lock onto you intently, burning with a obvious and growing rage.
It says nothing for a moment, making small sporadic movements with jerky unnatural motions. It’s lips curl onto a snarl.

”diiiid” ‘raspy inhale’ ”you do, thiiiis?” it’s throat sounds dry and sore, vocal chords activating that haven’t been used in ages. It starts taking slow staggered steps towards you. With every step it’s movements become more fluid as if it’s re-learning how to move.

It holds no weapons.

"You stop right there! We didn't go anything here on acount of just getting here. Though I have to admit, the decor could be improved with the liberal application of some alchemists fire."
Lanius intoned, while raising his shield and rapier

[Holy-hunter]

With a wild shrilling scream it charges!

With empty hands it attacks Lanius by swiping its sharp long boney fingers at him like claws. Should they pierce the flesh Lanius will feel the drain of death on this creatures touch. (Necrotic damage.)
It attacks wildly with a deep seeded rage against the living.

Hearing the creatures wild cry, two more corpses emerge from the coffins half way down the hall. One is but a torso, the other decayed to the point that now its only a skeleton.

Lanius blocked the assault, but not before landing a blow of his own.

Spoiler Show Aelia and Aurum both move to flank the undead that attacked Lanius. I don't know if we're using flanking rules so I'm just going to roll for it like we are. Kara already had her drum ready. All it took was a quick rap, and the strange magic blasted towards their enemy.

The monster takes a barrage of attacks, it’s skeletal undead body seeming resistant to Lanius’s blades. A growl of frustration boils in its throat. It’s eyes growing wilder.
”Help me!” it hisses loudly. The other zombies seemingly hearing and obeying.

The sad legless creature falls from its coffin and shambles forth. Dragging it entrails behind it. The other, a female with long thin fraying hair and still noticeable elven features charges at Aelia.

The main creature showed no burning hate for Kara or the steel defender and instead unleashed its malice on Aelia. Claws swiping viciously with a hungry hateful intent. Aurum tries to protect his creator as usual:

Showing some skill from its life before death, the main creature slinks away backwards, disengaging from combat without leaving any openings.

Lanius immediately switched targets, engaging the elvish zombie to take the pressure of Aelia

Aelia Smith Human Artificer AC: 19 HP: 18/36 PP: 11 PIv: 16 PIs: 11 Conditions: -- Concentration: -- Aelia does her best to hold back a yelp of pain as she an Aurum work with Lanius to hack away at the undead in their faces. Though she wonders where the other one is going and why it bothered asking for help after attacking them. At the moment, she assumes it's just some form of mimicry to lure in victims. Daisy, seeing her companions in danger, rushes forward. As soon as she's within 60' of an undead, she'll cast Frostbite. She speaks a word of Druidic and throws her hand out, a faint mist of cold rushing out and (hopefully) overwhelming her foe.

Not good. Kara turned her attention towards the legless zombie, trying to keep it back. Don't want to risk being overwhelmed.

Kara blasted back the crawling zombie, it’s efforts all undone.
Meanwhile as frost crept over the elven undead, it appeared to be near its end, after the recent barrage of attacks.

Ferociously it lashed out at Aelia again. Hindered by the frost covering its body.

The main foe stands at the end of the hallway, hissing in hate and frustration, realising his fate but fearing to flee any further into the lair.

”Stop...” it scowls as if with great mental difficulty.
”Stop.” The words come out strained as if it took great effort to produce the simple syllable.

"Should have thought about that, before you sicked your little body buddies at us. We wanted to talk. No stopping now."
Lanius called out, while also attacking the corpse that threatened Aelia

Lanius’s final hit beheads the elven undead and it falls to the floor lifeless. That leaves the crawler about 10ft away now and the talking one 45ft away at the end of the hallway.

"If it wants to talk without attacking, let it talk. Maybe it was just scared?" Perhaps a bit contrary to what she's saying, Aelia and Aurum move up and try to demolish the crawling undead.
