Between Rowan's blast, 'Riq's blade work, and Oddity's maneuvers, you were able to drop the undead general. All but two of the 'friendly' azer lay unconscious, while the the remaining ones failed to land a blow.

There is a slight pause when their leader falls, how will you respond?

Malak flies down to the ground, and in Ignan says, "You are not prisoners, but if you feel the need to avenge a captain who treated you like expendable things, then I will honor you with a mercifully quick death. But you are your own now, and your brothers in the next room are with us. If nothing else, you are free. What say you?"

"'Mercifully quick' is his promise." Alssariq chips in, cleaning his blade of gunk from the general's undead form. "I'm not familiar enough with your bodies to promise that myself. Better you die to the incinerators among us."

The Azer pause, looking at each other as if to weigh their options. Eventually, they lower their weapons. "Okay, we yield."One of the ones trapped behind the shield wall says. "There's a stairway over that way" he gestures to the northeast "but best of luck getting up there. There's something hiding beneath the stairs that'll attack you if you try. We lost 3 men in the attempt thus far."

The party thusly made its way towards the stair. Even warned against the beast that hides underneath, you can't detect it until it's too late. It juts out and bites at Malak, dealing 21 damage to him! Worse, he feels weakened; this thing seems specially chosen to hunt those of the outer planes, and apparently Malak's connection to the plane counts enough to be its favored prey.

    Spoiler: Malak

GM: Please roll for his Aid Another, noting that his armor grants an additional +2 bonus to the Aid Another check (not that it should matter, unless there is a penalty).

Things aren't going too well thus far. While Goma was able to aid some of his teammates from opportunistic attacks, not much else was accomplished. Both Rowan and 'Zad's energy blasts slid off the beast's foul hide like it was mere smoke, and neither Goma nor Alsriq landed a blow. The akashic being Oddity landed a glancing blow, but that was the extent of the party's success this round.

The monster was far more lucky. While Goma was able to block its claws, the insectoid bit him for 21 (after his DR) damage and struck 'Riq for 11, as poison seeps into his wound (make a DC 25 Fort save or else take (2d6)[7] Strength damage and be subject to a dimensional anchor effect.

    Rowan

Seeing his spell splay harmlessly off the creature’s hide, it finally clicks for Rowan what this thing is. The bite that made Malak go pale, the poisonous sting, and it’s resistance to spells. This was a Get of Iblis.

”I know what this is! This is no centipede it’s a Get of Iblis! Fire won’t work, spells will need to break its defense, and for attacks it has a poison sting which stops teleportation, its claws can shear adamantine, and it’s bite will rip the life force of extraplanars like myself and Malak!” Rowan warns the party before stepping west and concentrating on a spell.

His spell is different from normal, instead of the conflagration of flame that is his signature, stones of all shapes and sizes form at the tip of his staff before being violently launched at the beast.

Default Re: Legacy of Fire SoP/PoW/SoM V: For Vendetta!

The great centipede's claw catches Alssariq as he spins around it, and though he's able to cut away the poison he feels burning he's still left bleeding slightly as he continues his dance. Before long he's behind the thing entirely and stabbing away at its hindquarters.

    Spoiler: OOC
    Show

    Tension: 1 -> 3 -> 0
    Fort save in the OOC.
    Swift: Scout (1d20+22)[36]
Move: Moving around the back of the thing.
    Acrobatics to avoid AoO: (1d20+24)[42]
Standard: Attack, blowing focus on Berserker if the Acrobatics check passed, using Targeted Punishment if the Scout succeeded, and using Power attack.
Attack - (1d20+15)[35] (includes Flank, reminder that if Scout succeeds it gets -2 AC against Alssariq.)
Damage - (4d6+41)[53] (14 from Targeted Punishment, 22 from Berserker)
