Cassian doesn't know what a surprise round is.

He heard Erie say that the wererats are out for blood and that talking is unlikely to lead anywhere, so he has no qualms about taking them out the same as we've done with bandits and other malcontents. But, as Haval says of Andrei, he hasn't been inside the cave yet, so whatever Ciraneoth and/or Winifred decide to do next will be what happens.

sorry, but there was heavy rain here today and the internet went down because of it. As Ciraneoth isn't a talker and doesn't see the problem of shooting from ambush, I think attack is the way to go.
