I don't know, but I would suggest googling for "chromebook website blacklist" and checking the various options that brings up.

I'm ready to strangle him (not really). He looked at videos all day today.

Mine's current favorite is Kindly Keyin or something like that, which is far better than his previous of Hobby Kids TV.

You might also need to check that teachers aren't using YouTube for actual content. Khan Academy's videos are on YouTube, and, as a teacher, I also ended up starting my own channel this year that's just Zoom recordings of me talking through my process while doing math problems using a document camera. If your kid's school is a Google school like mine, it's by far the easiest place for teachers to post their own videos.

Do you have parental controls set up? You can block lots of things with parental controls.

When my son was younger, I blocked every copy of "Johnny, Johnny, Yes Papa" I could find. And a lot of religious channels.

Yeah, we did that. It took my son less than half a day to figure out that he could circumvent all restrictions on his account by not logging in.

I was exasperated, but also quite proud. It's probably the most useful single thing he's ever learned.

A natural result of these conditions is, that we consciously or unconsciously pay more attention to tuning our opinions to our neighbor’s pitch and preserving his approval than we do to examining the opinions searchingly and seeing to it that they are right and sound." - Mark Twain

Yes, it's not too difficult to block YouTube, but you may not want to.
    1. If your kid doesn't need YouTube for educational purposes, you can blacklist the site with pretty much any parental controls program. Most common antivirus software include a blacklisting feature as well. That being said, kids are a lot smarter than you think and yours will probably learn to circumvent the blacklisting quickly. Speaking from experience, you probably have one or two weeks at most.
    2. Also speaking from experience, I would strongly advise against blacklisting the site. By doing so you are telling your kid "I don't trust you", which can be very damaging to your relationship with them.

Human beings, who are almost unique in having the ability to learn from the experience of others, are also remarkable for their apparent disinclination to do so.
