5e - Lost Mines of Phandelver (OOC)
Okay guys! Time to get this show on the road. This is the all too familiar OOC thread during which you can ask me questions about encounters or about what your character may or may not know in the campaign(s). I know the title says Lost Mines, but if this group doesn't fall off the wagon like pbp games are prone to doing and want to keep the adventure going, I'm more than willing to look at other stories and camps to run (D&D Beyond is such a handy virtual library). Anyway I'm gonna wait until everyone on the table gets a chance to post in here before we start the IC because there's a couple little things to hammer out before I do the opening narrative.

Re: 5e - Lost Mines of Phandelver (OOC)
Maecilia will of course speak in that most noble of metal colours, gold.
In total, the party covers common (of course), elven, dwarven, draconic, primordial and sylvan, I think. So something common to monsters like goblin or orc would probably be useful.
Elven, as the most refined and elegant of languages, would of course be a plus (As well as most of the party speaks it, so it'd be easy to speak it in front of others you might not want understanding you).And the far stars cried, and the planets yearned;
But no man may know, for she'll ne'er return.

Subscribed. I'm not terribly partial to speech color, so I'll decide on something that stands out from the rest after everyone else has picked.

Re: 5e - Lost Mines of Phandelver (OOC)
Tharandiir al'Iriden, Knight of Myth Drannor
AC: 17 (18) | HP: 11 | CURRENT: 11 | HIT DIE: 1d10 | CURRENT: 1d10
PASSIVE PERCEPTION: 12 | PASSIVE INSIGHT: 10 | INSPIRATION: None.
ACTIVE EFFECTS: None.
CONDITIONS: None.
BACKGROUND: Born to House al'Iriden over a century ago, Tharandiil was destined for greatness, his father, Evaliir, was a notable tactician and leader of a division of knights directly under Coronal Ilsevele, herself. As Evaliir's son came of age, he was instructed in the history of his people, the arts of magic, of music, and the joy of family. He saw the people of the Dalelands coordinate with the tel'Quessir, in rebuilding Myth Drannor, restoring the fabled city to it's former glories, and among the many varied races, he devloped a strong kinship with human, dwarf and elf alike.
Eventually war broke out in the Eastern Heartland, the war culminated in the destruction of the Netheril's flying fortress of Thultanthar, which crashed into Myth Drannor itself, destroying both cities, and killing tens of thousands. House al'Iriden fell in the conflict, a fact which has been seared into Tharandiir's memory, his home falling to ruin, weeks removing rubble to finally lay his mother and sisters to rest, his father's body never recovered from the assault on Thultanthar itself.
And so the young man followed Coronal Ilsevele herself to Semberholm, however, he did not remain there long, instead becoming an aspirant to the Knights of Myth Drannor. Given his father's reputation as a veteran of the Netheril War, he was inducted in the Order, and trained by the Order's Captain, given the young elf's potential, he was given the task of traveling the Sword Coast, to act as ward to a young noble, Maecillia Vitalis Felicissima.
House Felicissima was an ally of al'Iriden, and so Tharandiir accepted the duty, and now travels at the young wizard's side, protecting her from harm, and her own, worst, impulses.
If it's not obvious, Tharandiir will talk in BOLD GREEN.Last edited by Zero Prime; 2021-01-11 at 11:14 PM.

Re: 5e - Lost Mines of Phandelver (OOC)
Alright well, while we are waiting on Durnik to join us, I'll probably fire up the IC thread today. There are 5 of you and if he joins it won't be too difficult to get him introduced in the early-game. As it is my understanding, Tharandiir and Maecillia are travelling with each other but the rest of you are separate yes?

I'm open to prior acquaintance. But if we're to begin in Neverwinter, Torinn most likely arrived by river and has yet to meet anyone else.

Re: 5e - Lost Mines of Phandelver (OOC)
Imbalance, and anyone else who hasn't done it, if I could just ask that you copy your backstories that you posted in the Recruitment Thread to your character sheets in the "Other Notes" block? I'm trying to see if anyone has a backstory that would relate to the hook of the camp and having to jump back and forth between threads is a little tedious.
Also Dremon did you ever get your backstory fleshed out or do you defer to the hook from the module?Crazy people don't know they're crazy. I know I'm crazy therefore I am not crazy, isn't that crazy?

Re: 5e - Lost Mines of Phandelver (OOC)
Alright I know I said I was gonna have the IC Thread up a couple days ago and it's taken this long I've just been trying to stall for Durnik to join us but there's plenty of room for him to jump into the adventure if he joins us later + we already have 5 players ready which is what the adventure calls for so I'm stalling unnecessarily.
Here be the IC Thread for the campaign, you guys can start posting immediately. Let's have a fun game guys!Crazy people don't know they're crazy. I know I'm crazy therefore I am not crazy, isn't that crazy?

For the record, I absolutely love when PC personalities don't jive. It makes the party dynamic so much more interesting.

... you'll get the sass!
Love it!
Also, respect for the OOC comment, to highlight role play over conflict. I love PC rivalries, they add so much.

Re: 5e - Lost Mines of Phandelver (OOC)
To give everyone here an update, I've just sent a PM to Kvard to see if Durnik is still with us, and Rogues doesn't appear to have been active since before the OP in the IC thread yesterday so we'll give him some time to come back to us.

Re: 5e - Lost Mines of Phandelver (OOC)
I'm here. Sorry, I missed the thread announcement, somehow. Anyway, here is Durnik Coppersmith, Stone Sorcerer. He will speak in Saddle Brown with Italics for internal monologue. I may use Bold if this doesn't show up well.

Re: 5e - Lost Mines of Phandelver (OOC)
I must admit, I'd prefer not for my character to be ignored entirely, because that is a direct insult that she has to respond to, and it's the more boring kind of being (heh) catty as well.
