Re: 5e - Lost Mines of Phandelver (OOC)
Hey thanks for all the well-wishes! I hope everyone had a great weekend. I'm back, I notice we still have yet to hear from Dremon the cleric. I just pm-ed Rogues after noticing his activity on the forums today to touch base with him to see if he's still with us. Since there's still some IC conversations going on and and the RP is flowing and the PCs are still getting to know each other and we're waiting on Dremon, I'll give it until tomorrow probably before posting anything in narrative.
Crazy people don't know they're crazy. I know I'm crazy therefore I am not crazy, isn't that crazy?

Re: 5e - Lost Mines of Phandelver (OOC)
Oh! While we are waiting though, I would like to know your marching order please. I'll get some sort of visual to help with this probably tomorrow up for everyone (it will likely be rudimentary at first just to have something and I might set something up on R20 later on since I need more practice with it anyway) but just for the sake of knowing things, who's walking first?

Re: 5e - Lost Mines of Phandelver (OOC)
I see Torinn & Tharandiir leading the group, with pockets of conversation forming behind them.

Makes sense. I guess Heart and Mae will be in second, then.

Re: 5e - Lost Mines of Phandelver (OOC)
Durnik, although a Sorcerer, is a melee combatant. And he's a bit slow. So he might be in the middle between the groups.

Re: 5e - Lost Mines of Phandelver (OOC)
Torinn was last speaking with Durnik, so it might make more sense if the dragonborn is behind him or all the way in back at the moment. I don't have a preference, it's just what I imagine.

Re: 5e - Lost Mines of Phandelver (OOC)
So we got Tharandiir taking point with Mae and Heart in the middle and Durnik and Torinn bringing up the rear then.

Yeah, Mae will be nice and safe in the centre.

It's super dead at work today so I'm working on R20 to try to get the layout constructed for you guys.

Re: 5e - Lost Mines of Phandelver (OOC)
That I honestly don't know, the reason I'm setting the grid up on R20 is actually because I need more experience with it.
I did want to ask people to find portraits of their PCs so that I can make tokens out of them. The only portrait I have to make a token out of so far is Tharandiir'sCrazy people don't know they're crazy. I know I'm crazy therefore I am not crazy, isn't that crazy?

Re: 5e - Lost Mines of Phandelver (OOC)
I added mine to my character sheet, but I can link you to it if needed. It's also this avatar, but it's so small and blurry and the other one is the slightly less lame image made by Heroforge.

Re: 5e - Lost Mines of Phandelver (OOC)
Okay, it's still a work in progress, but given that my experience with R20 is almost nil, I'm actually pretty proud of this so far, anyway this is the bird's eye view of the area.
The embankments go up on either side of the path (signified by the black lines) which means the path is the "low ground" in comparison. Roll20 Phandelver Encounter Maps
The link is also now in the OP of this thread.Last edited by Darkstar21295; 2021-01-21 at 07:04 PM.

I'm in. It looks good. I'm not sure all of the features are going to be functional on my device, but I can make use of the visual, at least.

Re: 5e - Lost Mines of Phandelver (OOC)
You should add sheets for us in the Journal tab, even if we don't use the R20 sheets (and since we're using it for a map only, I suggest we don't), once you give us a sheet you could allow us edit permissions. Once that's done, we can each upload a token, and move it ourselves on our turn to keep track of our positions in longer combats.
That being said, Tharandiir will head north to the embankment and up it, if at all possible, while still moving quietly.

Re: 5e - Lost Mines of Phandelver (OOC)
I appreciate everyone's patience btw with the slow setup to the R20. I know it's kind of hard to decide what to do when you don't even know where you are on the battlefield. I'd be happy to make tokens for people so they at least have reference until I can set it up to where you control your own token, if you want to present a portrait of your PCs, the only ones on the field right now are Tharandiir and Torinn, and the 4 goblins of course.
