How would you L5R Spider Monk?

Just curious about how others who are familiar with L5R's monks would approach the Spider sohei orders, namely Order of the Spider and Order of Venom.

Would you try and make the Monk class work? How would you build it?
Would you skip Monk and use another class entirely?
Thoughts?

Wouldn't the Way of Mercy Monk work quite well for a venom (i.e. their necrotic energy abilities) monk?
