Re: DataNinja's Scintillating Digital Random Banter #231
All I'm saying is that I'm waiting to see what Big Finish does with her incarnation, and for the inevitable retcon for recent(ish) developments. My bet is the reveal of two Time Lords using the same name.
I'm laying the blame at Chibnall's feet not Whittaker's, because it's clear she's not where the problem is.
I'd also like to see the return of the War Chie. Sure, they're the same broad archetype as the Master, but if you stayed close to their characterisation from The War Games they'd be more like the early Master than their modern incarnations.

Re: DataNinja's Scintillating Digital Random Banter #231
I find it hilarious when I see a commercial for a drug or supplement and it mentions a "clinically tested key ingredients" without saying the results of those clinical tests or what the key ingredients actually are.
I don't know if it's accurate in every case, but if I'm gonna be honest my first thought every time I hear that is "and that's the sign that they're peddling snake oil. Rattlesnake oil, too, not the good stuff from China."I also answer to Bookmark and Shadow Claw.

Even sugar-water has a key ingredient: water. Without that, it's just solid sugar.
I would have said it has two key ingredients, but there are a lot of types of sugar that are roughly equivalent to each other.Spoiler: Previous avatars

Welp, last year I celebrated my birthday during the first lockdown and today I get to celebrate it during the third one. Huzzah.

Would you like a hug?
I've been fine mostly, with lockdowns and social distancing, but I'm a major introvert. This has gotta be hell for anyone who needs meaningful social interaction to "recharge."
There's clinical evidence that suggests that most people require a certain amount of positive physical and social contact with other people to maintain their mental health. That's honestly gotta be the worst thing about the pandemic.I also answer to Bookmark and Shadow Claw.

Re: DataNinja's Scintillating Digital Random Banter #231
It's okay, this "lockdown" has so few restrictions it barely deserves to be called like that, and since I got a job in a library I have enough social interactions. Still sucks that I can't throw a proper party for my quarter-of-a-century but I have it better than a lot of people.

Re: DataNinja's Scintillating Digital Random Banter #231
Happy Birthday!
Assuming I'm not being an idiot and it's only the celebration today.
Yeah, we had one of those lockdowns back in November. The main result as far as I'm concerned that I couldn't get on a train to visit people. Plus to be fair my ability to interact socially wasn't that great before the pandemic anyway.
Also I feel like I must be weird, to me a 'proper party' consists of about five people, a bottle of wine, and ideally a boat. People seem to think this is doing it wrong.

I got wonderful news to tell you. I was talking to my friend on the phone today! My friend and her niece no longer got COVID. Their 10 days are up. They beat COVID! I'm so happy!
It's time to get my Magikarp on!

My favorite part of March is the 6 minute breaks between the tornado warnings. Also, got a tornado emergency near me, so that's bonus fun.

Re: DataNinja's Scintillating Digital Random Banter #231
Trivia: Crocodiles and Alligators have some of the strongest and most efficient immune systems in the world. They're not the strongest but in addition to being able to fight of the kinds of infections that you'd expect an animal that spends most of its life living in filthy swamp water and regularly acquiring open wounds to get, at least one study has shown that crocodile immune cells are able to destroy immune deficiency viruses and things like herpes which normally stay in an infected organism's system forever.
This has been a bit of random biology trivia.I also answer to Bookmark and Shadow Claw.

Passat, somebody outside the limit should probably create a new thread.
I think I grazed the to of my shin today, not sure why.
Oh, and all the members of my special cuddle have had their first jab of antiplague, soonish we'll be able to snuggle with only minor risk. Now it's just a case of waiting until we see each other.
