I had "get a masters in library science" suggested to me by a counselor when the idea of becoming a professor of history came up as a career option(This was around the time I had to drop my original major but at the time I had enough credits to graduate then and there with an associates degree in history) but it would have required me to happy to an entirely new school becuase my university of choice didn't offer that specific program.

Apparently "library science" is a deceptively limited name for what the field actually covers.

Yeah, it'd be nice, but...

Honestly, I'm kind of... At that point where I don't know what to do with my life.

I'm not asking for advice, but there's a reason why most of my fantasies involve a clean break from this reality into one where I either have options that don't exist in my real life or where I can just divorce from human society entirely and only interact with it on my own terms.

That, and I actually do want to be immortal.

And honestly, it depends on the dragon. I imagine that most people would prefer to be a sapient dragon, not a wild animal or mindless brute.

I've mentioned before that I think being permenantly bonded with a symbiote dragon would be a decent enough means of "being a dragon" though I'd need something extra to account for the extended longevity and something else extra if I wanted fire breath.

I'm starting to think that a dislike for mint toothpaste isn't that uncommon.

I'd much rather be the evil wizard in a tower because I'm happy with who I am than a dragon. Because being a dragon is bad, but because my eyesight is already do bad in not sure how I'd read my spellbooks at that size.

Dragons are often said to have exceptional eye-sight and/or the ability to assume human form.

Hey everyone. I'm so happy that this year is getting better for me. Because even though that we're still in a pandemic that I feel very happy right and crying right now (I'm crying because I'm watching Beauty & The Beast Live Action on Disney+). This forum has always been there for me. Even though we get into arguments everybody is always been there for me and I thank everyone for that.

I've mentioned before that I lie listing to those videos of a TTS program reading stories from reddit.

In some of those "Am I The Asshat" videos I have to wonder why so many people read things into the story that aren't mentioned or assume that there's something being untold in order to claim that an obviously not the asshat poster is in fact the asshat.

"When I got married, my spouse had a teenage daughter from a previous relationship. I was never close to my stepdaughter because she spent most of her time with her biological father's house. My wife and I also have a son, who is now about five years old. Well, my now-adult stepdaughter lost her job due to the pandemic and not only wants to move in but wants me to kick my young son out of his room and make him sleep in the guest room she used to use when she was younger on weekends when her mother had custody while she takes his room for herself. Naturally, I refused out of hand, but now she's saying that I never loved her and am favoring my biological child over her, so AITA?"

That's a made-up example, but it falls in line with some of the things I've seen.

Consider the possibility that the entire reason they're there in the first place, is that they enjoy calling people asshats.

Back in high school, I was taking a business class because I needed an elective that year.

One day there was a group discussion that quickly devolved into an argument between me and some kid on the other side of the room. I don't remember much, but I do remember that it was off topic by that point and the other guy was being a jackass.

I didn't want to keep arguing and the teacher wasn't doing anything to stop it, so I pulled out one of my notebooks and pretended to write something down.

Jackass started panicking, thinking I'd written his name down on a hitlist or something(didn't even know his name) and got increasingly panicky when he asked what I'd just written down and I'd keep telling him that it was nothing.

It was then and only then that the teacher stepped in and got the class back on topic.

I wasn't intending to scare the crap out of the guy... But I didn't have to deal with any more crap from that one guy ever again.

I'm jealous. I recently got really interested in pursuing Library Sciences, but I've already burned through all the grad school loans I can afford to for the time being.
EDIT: Ha, I missed out on the most recent page's conversation! Still jealous - even just working as a library assistant feels like it'd be a perfect job for me.

Hopefully, I'm going to be starting a full-time gig at a plasma lab in 2 weeks. There's been a hitch in my background check that I've been waiting to hear back from my hiring manager about for 3 days.

I had my first ever streamed D&D game today (we've been playing since October, and the DM had always been planning to start streaming games eventually, so that came to fruition).

Earlier today I uploaded a chapter to one of my fanfics.

One of the reviews(which did not pass moderation) was an anonymous guest quoting word for word the speech that Senator Armstrong makes when he reveals his true plan after Raiden destroys his "Mech" in Metal Gear Rising Revengence.

I'm not going to quote or summarize the speech here but I'm honestly baffled as to who the hell thinks that's okay or what prompted the person to do so.

Maybe, except every time I post an update to this story I get a slew of anonymous responses of copy-pasted superhero bashing, praising and white-washing for people like Doctor Doom, Lex Luthor, and the Punisher*, intermixed with political talk points that I will not go into here.

And I'm pretty sure it's all the same guy because this is the second time I've gotten Armstrong's speech.

*I blame adaptions. Movies, Cartoons, the Netflix series... They all make Frank seem like a rational person who had valid reasons to take the law into his own hand. In the comics, Frank Castle is pretty open about the fact he's only using the death of his family as an excuse and he just really, really likes killing people. On a good day, Frank is just barely better than the people he murders in cold blood. On a bad day, he's firing rocket-propelled grenades at teenagers who are breaking into a building they own to take something that's rightfully theirs and follows it up by shoving a gun in an eleven-year-old's face.
