Al grimaces as pain radiates from the wound on the side of his face. Hoping to avoid any additional wounds, he shifts to a defensive stance before once again trying to open a space for his companions.

Swift action: Adopt stance of the defending shell.

Standard action: Bull rush Red to the west while utilizing Defensive Stance. If the bull rush is successful, Al will not move.

R3T16: Al grimaces as pain radiates from the wound on the side of his face. He tries to maneuver to get his flanking at the same point as one of these monsters, but realizes that tactic doesn't work.

I know "but it doesn't say in the book," any more than the last round you tried to put it in a space that was mostly rock ... but you cannot designate a space held by an enemy as a Tactical Flanker space. It's okay, he learns through a variety of battlefield situations.

Finally, success as he muscles the little bastard back a few feet.
R3T15: The benefit is short-lived, however, as Blue now steps into the space previously held by Red. As it bites, Al desperately interposes his shield in the way, keeping it up to ward off the claws as well.

R3T14: Though Al's superior pikesmanship should hold the area, it doesn't help when he is surprised ... such as by Green who springs from around the corner, only to be blocked again. Still, this third layer of stench finally wears Al down (sickened), and just continues to eat away at the already sickened samsaran.

End Round 3, Begin Round 4 ...

R4T20: Red scrambles back a few feet more, shouting frustratedly ... not ahead at the melee, but behind him to the west.

R4T19: Zada, you are still rocking a bonus ... but against an enemy you can no longer see. What do you do?

Draegra on deck, Alvor in the hole ...

R4T19: It's very easy, most of the time, to see Zada's shamanism and magical soulknife abilities, and think of them as a sort of glorified caster who can fight as needed. What is often overlooked however, garners some "Wow" faces when Zada - wearing a significant amount of gear - simply picks up Steingott (and all of his not-insignificant gear) and simply and moves him out of the way and sets him down on his feet. Without having needed to do so yet in the past, Zada absolutely just solved "who is the strongest member of the party" ... and the answer was not Alvor or Draegra.

Zada then steps up right behind Draegra. Unfortunately, the rich, pungent smell of death is too overwhelming even for them (sickened).

R4T18: Draegra, what do you do? You only partially see your studied target (Red) several feet to the west.

R4T14: Green bites Alvor in the right lower arm for 6 + paralyzed, slashes his upper leg for 8, but wildly misses with the last claw.

R5T21-20: A normal, human-sized ghoul appears from the west even as Red seems to have drawn back towards the west out of view.

R5T19: At this time, Steingott's muscles no longer seize and he is not paralyzed anymore (but it's not his turn yet).

Norton has been watching the fight unfold, lamenting on his inability to support his allies like he should, when he hits on an idea. He takes a moment to meditate, drawing out the energy from the veil shaped at his feet and reforming it into a weapon in his grip, a bright shining spear made out of light. He then moves forward, bringing himself back up to the fight, while he reasserts his power in order to optimize it for the fight at hand.

Unfortunately, they do this purely from their own vigor, as the change in story takes away their insight on the enemy. Fortunately, though, that ferocity might be enough as they crack Blue on the side of the head, right at the ear, for 16.

R5T18: Draegra, still woozy and feeling ill, concentrates - trying to find some inner focus and calm - before slashing forward at the enemy, hitting it lightly in the head for 2. Seeing it hasn't gone down yet, Draegra is dismayed by how little he can do against these foes.

Meanwhile, Steingott is no longer paralyzed!

R5T15-14: Blue bites Alvor in the right upper arm for 7, and slashed twice in the left shoulder for 16 total. Green bites him in the belly for 7, misses wildly with a claw (bonking its head on the wall), and then slashes his right elbow with the other claw for 6.

R5T11: Steingott, you've been aware of everything so far. You are still very queasy from the stench, but at least you're no longer paralyzed. What do you do?

Steingott snaps back from the paralysis and immediately starts clutching his stomach with his left arm. His right arm is extended out, ready to send a chunk of earthen material into anything that doesn't look like his teammates. He steps towards Norton to get a look down the tunnel, ready to fire.

Steingott takes a 5 foot step South West next to Norton to try and get a glimpse down the tunnel. If he can see either of the ghouls (most likely blue) down the crowded tunnel, he'll take the shot. If he can't, disregard the rolls.

R5T11: Steingott snaps back from the paralysis and immediately starts clutching his stomach with his left arm. His right arm is extended out, ready to send a chunk of earthen material into anything that doesn't look like his teammates. He steps towards Norton to get a look down the tunnel, and fires at something in a disturbance, but out of fear for hitting his allies and his extreme discomfort, he misses wildly.

R5T10-3: Screeching in the tunnels, echoing from all around.

R6T21-20: Screeching continues, and Brown - a normal human(-ish) ghoul desperately snaps and slashes at Draegra from around the curving rock.

R6T18: Feeling increasingly frustrated by his inability to land a solid bow in these cramped confines, Draegra slashes out one more time with desperation, and this time his adamantine sword cuts clean through the creature's upper left arm and into its chest. The little monster looks at him with eyes full of piteous rage and howls in anguish .... before its whole bodily combusts from the inside and turns to ash!

R6T14: Green hisses at the taller, but somehow lesser, ghouls. They point to the scorched ground that once held its peer. It turns to Alvor and then bites deeply into his left arm for 8, and arterial spray flows out as a large chunk of Alvor's arm is gulped down by the monster. Meanwhile, lacking a vital force to keep paralyzed, Alvor's body simply falls limp to the ground, his eyes still open in shock from when he was first paralyzed. Green then steps back 5', and the little monster's long, raspy tongue comes out to lick Alvor's gore and blood off of its arm and its hand and then stare directly up at Draegra as if to taunt him.

R6T11: Steingott, you missed that whole dramatic scene as it took place behind a corner. You don't even know Alvor's disposition. What do you do?

R6T10-3: Purple moves forward over Alvor's lifeless body to snap its oversized jaws at Draegra. Yellow (previously unseen) moves in from the NNE and bites viciously at Draegra's scale armor.

R7T21-20: Brown does a terrible job attacking Draegra from around the corner.

"I could have told you that!" Norton calls out, with a hint of annoyance. "Nobody seems to want to fall back." Norton steps back, preparing himself to strike if the flow of battle finally changes.
