How to set up and test microphones in Windows 10?

I just install windows 10 in my lenovo think pad. Before My laptop was running in Windows 7. But Now microphone is not working after i install windows 10. After searching for solution it says I need to set up inbuilt microphone from windows 10 settings. I carry a mic test for my device mic and found it is not working. So my question is

1)what are the correct settings to set up microphone in Windows 10?
2)After set up how will I test microphone if it is working?

First step is to check your System Settings and click on the Sound category. This shows your speaker outputs and mic inputs. Under "Input", make sure your built-in microphone is selected.

In case it doesn't show up there, you might need to update the device drivers so that all your hardware is working properly in Windows 10.
