One thing to consider - when Lucrezia (in Agatha's body) ascended, she claimed that one needs an "organic mind" to do so (as she said, "build the Spark into a flame, an inferno"). Of course we do not have all the details on der Kastle's construction, but I have some doubts about a mind like that being in the centre of it...

And maybe that's how the queens did it too and/or maintained their power.

And? Agatha had a temporary Second Breakthrough by drinking from the Dyne and The Other mentionned Albia's "power source". It looks like everybody needs to get it from elsewhere.

    New comic

The Castle seems to think it's Sherlock Holmes.

And Madwa did keep Captain "Don't care".
That's kinda cute. It's like she picked up a pet.

"Don't Care" is not an act. He truly doesn't care. And he has a fear of water not properly mixed with alcohol.

Seriously. Der Kestle, when not completely broken, notices everything going on within its walls, big or small, plus outside to a decent range via the gargoyles and watchtowers. This Castle is the one that infiltrated Paris iirc, detached and miniaturised. Is it just the lack of more than one eye? Does it actually have any other sensory apparatus?
I'm pretty much the opposite of concise. If I fail to get to the point, please ask me and I'm happy to (attempt to) clarify.

It also probably doesn't have quite the same processing capabilities in the small clank that it had in a giant castle or even whatever setup it had in Paris.
Also it's very distraced chatting/trying to one up the train mini clank. But yeah it likely has the one eye. The clank it inhabits, liek the train's is something Agatha threw up quickly to contain "yet another Heterodyne monstrosity's mind that is my problem now, I guess", not some dedcated scout.

Keep in mind its keeping track of anything that enters its territory, and in this case is examining other territory it doesnt control. Its like the difference between detecting someone coming into your room versus playing hide and seek in the neighborhood.

We have two eyes for binocular vision / assessing distance; one eye is fine for noticing "Hey there's a person in the room". I know this because I currently have 20/400 vision in one eye (cataract). I assure you I'd have noticed that the shoes were occupied.

To be fair this instance of the Castle is both shorter and dumber than the normal version, while still being as arrogant. As a result it's not exactly competent, much like how the Beast is no longer able to squash things even a fraction as well as it could in it's original body.

It might not be able to squash him anymore, but it is a monumental tower of arrogance much like the castle.

The castle is a tower of arrogance. While I agree that the train is incredibly arrogant, I do not think it counts as a tower.

Z-axis arrogance versus XY plane arrogance. The combination of arrogance and ignorance is always awesome in its ability to screw up.
