Midturn 6
Galactic Congress Results (Public)
Spoiler: Greed is GoodThe Galactic Congress has tallied up the votes from the member factions all over Principia, and has found the votes as follows:
7 Yay
5 Nay
The first proposal has passed, if only barely. A new era of galactic prosperity is ahead, and nothing can get in its way!
Spoiler: OOCThis turn, all investments into Eco will be discounted by 1, to a minimum of 4:1 (not including VIP discounts).
Spoiler: Trust to AuthorityThe Galactic Congress has tallied up the votes from the member factions all over Principia, and has found the votes as follows:
13 Yay
26 Nay
The second proposal has failed in a surprising landslide dismissal of the motion. Institutions still have their day in Principia.
Oracle Family Company
Mor 9
Spoiler: Midturn ResultsThe Company's forces marshal to finish the work that the Logopatronites began under the stewardship of their lord and patron. The birthplace of the Emperor Empiricist proves as tricky as it is rewarding, though you come out with a new piece of technology that could very well be exactly what you need (1/3 of Tier Archeotech), as well as equipment to aid with future endeavours (++++ Sci, ++++ Eco, 2x +1 Psi items in the form of embedded psicrystal cores). 20/20 floors cleared.
In the midst of this gain, a great deal of your people emerge lost, their minds and banks wiped of all knowledge by memory-robots. Lose 1 Sci.
Spoiler: H.E.L.L.I.O.N. - T3 ArcheotechH.E.L.L.I.O.N. is a space station with a localized reality warping function that bends space around it; you have recovered large pieces of it.
When activated, it blocks all hyperspance lanes and invasions from a single system for a turn.
While your expedition recovers from the completion of the depths of the Artificery, your other forces push into the Trisolene Cubix. They recover a great deal of wealth and some reagent materials (+++++ Eco, ++++ Psi), and provide a great deal to your psykers in the form of cognizance crystals (4 xp each to Kkssikrek and Pteshk, they are 6/10 now). You also find one shattered half of a strange structure which proves both solid and phantasmagorical (1/2 of Tier 2 Archeotech). 18/20 floors cleared.
Spoiler: Primal Monolith - T2 ArcheotechPyramid fragments floating through space with no entrances or exits, inspiring mad visions in all nearby.
On the turn it is activated, all stats used in Wonder building are +50% more effective (rounded down).
Chrysaorian Hegemony
Mor 17
Spoiler: Midturn ResultsThe strangeness of the inner reaches of the Subzero Shoal is as macabre as promised, the frozen and undying essences of dead gods and other unknowable entities blotting out the stars as your scientists make their approach in phased craft. The Hegemony make out like bandits, well prepared and insulated against any trouble in their attempt (++++++ Eco, ++++ Sci, 3x +1 Sci items). The event at the very epicentre of the event proves to be familiar to the Hegemony's readings. (2/3 of Tier 3 Archeotech). 20/20 floors cleared.
Spoiler: Chronarch VI - T3 ArcheotechTurnstile-like creation capable of sending materials forwards through time and simulating growth.
A player invests temp stats into the Archeotech at Midturn for 150% return next turn (so if you send 6 of a stat through, you get 9 temp stats of the same type at the next Midturn).
At the same time, your other expedition is emboldened to test the Last Will of the Domin. The arena is aptly named, full of the ghosts of conquerors but the Announcer - the psychic shade of a past Warleader of Ultrum - offers strangely real gifts for those who survive the bouts (++++ Eco, +++ Sci, +++ Mil, +2 xp to all VIPs) and the blood of a dead Ultrumite (+2 Mil item). They also provide the pieces of a strange object, one that has unusual properties and seems to invite a vague sense of both wonder and nausea (1/2 of Tier 2 Archeotech). 14/20 floors cleared.
Of course, casualties in chasing these dreams were heavy as many of your people were sacrificed on that altar. Lose 2 Sci.
Spoiler: Primal Monolith - T2 ArcheotechPyramid fragments floating through space with no entrances or exits, inspiring mad visions in all nearby.
On the turn it is activated, all stats used in Wonder building are +50% more effective (rounded down).
Both Archeotechs function as intended. Psi protected, Zeus II cloned.
Magnus Apparatus
Mor 14
Spoiler: Midturn ResultsThe final run into the GLOP Chambers proves to be exceptionally fruitful. Your delving emerges not only some of the final secrets of life and creation (++++++ Sci) and the resources to expand your project further (+++++ Eco), but more tools to be used to increase your yield in future projects in the form of formulae for extra efficiency (+2 Sci item). Moreover, in the very last section of the installation your people uncover a part of a strange station, one that could be highly lucrative and useful in preserving the gains you have made so far (1/3 of Tier 3 Archeotech). 20/20 floors cleared.
Sadly, in the process of synthesizing the data you find that Partition is compromised. Though the program can be fixed, it will take some time (Partition is disabled for 1 turn).
Hecatian Shade
Mor 9
Spoiler: Midturn ResultsThe Shade, fresh on the heels of their scientific renaissance and guided by the century-defining initiatives that resulted from the Galactic Congress findings, dives deeper and more rapidly than ever before into their Arco-Medean legacy. Not only is the Folding Palace completely unveiled and explored in a matter of months - the teams burning through the doors and security measures with uncanny haste, to find treasures and great (++++ Eco, ++++++++ Sci, ++++ Psi, ++ Mor) and secrets for both civilian and military application (8 xp each for Ala Cait and the Herald, Ala Cait promoted to Tier 2). Finally, the researchers uncover a the second half of a hypercube that they've been looking for (2/2 of Tier 2 Archeotech) and the massive piece of the puzzle that has eluded the Shade's scientists for ages (2/4 of Tier 4 Archeotech). 20/20 floors cleared.
However, the expeditions are not without cost. Chi'tal is disabled for 1 turn, and you lose 1 Sci.
Spoiler: Null Box - T2 ArcheotechThe Null Box is a multidimensional hypercube that seeks out psychic signatures and converts their output into harmless light.
When activated, you choose a target nation and their effective Psi for that turn is reduced by 4 or halved, whichever is lower. This does not trigger 0 penalties.
Spoiler: The Cradle - T4 ArcheotechThe Cradle is a titanic mass fabricator with eight arms around a central ring, feeding off nearby stars to create any substance imaginable.
When activated, you gain 6 permanent stats on that Midturn, invested in the player's choice into any combination. These stats ignore the stat cap rule.
During this time, another of the Shade's expeditionary forces finish off the Jaws of Da Red Boyz. The shades of da Orkz are cunningly brutal and brutally cunning, yet they are no match for your teams. When the Shade finishes their delving, they return to their systems flush with new secrets and technologies (++++ Sci, +++++ Mil) and a series of holy texts about da Gork and Mork (2x +1 Mor items). The Shade scientists also uncover a third piece of the very same Cradle (3/4 of Tier 4 Archeotech). 20/20 floors cleared.
Knights of Orias
Mor 9
Spoiler: Midturn ResultsThe Knights complete their expedition into the newfound installation this year, pushing ahead with the gains made from the World Congress. In their fervor, the Knights Illuminate the works of the ancients, recovering a great deal of treasure (++++++ Eco, ++++ Sci) and finding a secret to aid in the training at the Crucible (4 xp for Anyi & Valefor, Kai & Adnachiel). To make matters even better, the Knights find a complex artifact piece at the heart of the installation that could be the key to unlocking the future... or perhaps striking a lucrative deal (1/3 of Tier 3 Archeotech). 20/20 floors cleared.
However, in the process of bringing back the data some of the works are compromised. Ki'mares in particular falls prey to rogue malware in her ARMAMENT, which will require critical repair before going back out in the field (Ki'mares and Malthus disabled for 1 turn). Furthermore, the gains made are done so at a cost of some of the researchers. Lose 1 Sci.
Spoiler: Subspace Drive - T3 ArcheotechThe Subspace Drive is one of the most sophisticated pieces of living technology left behind by the ancients. It cuts through realspace almost instantly, creating miniature wormholes like hyperlanes that can be opened or closed at will.
When activated, you can instantly invade or send stats to any territory on the map regardless of hyperlane access.
Channel Seldiva
Mor 9
Spoiler: Midturn ResultsThe Infinity Forge is a dangerous place, yet the forces brought to bear this year prove that even a nation not invested in the grandeur of the ancients can reap quite the harvest on the right year. With the help of the advancements sponsored by the Congress last year, Channel Seldiva's scientific teams make it most of the way through the Forge, coming out with raw resources (+++++++ Eco, +++ Sci) and ancient weapons in the form of annihilation weapons (2x +1 Mil items). Furthermore, the Forge proved to be hiding a very particular room of a unique design (1/1 of Tier 1 Archeotech). 16/20 floors cleared.
Spoiler: Arkangel - T1 ArcheotechArkangel is a state of the art nanosurgical suite, originally designed for consciousness transfers but used to download personality traits, skills, and even muscle memory.
When activated, you can transfer any 1 stat from any VIP into another stat of your choice (e.g. Mil 1 VIP can become Eco 1 VIP, or vice versa). This change is permanent but can be reversed by activating the Archeotech again.
Principia Personnel Solutions
Mor 20
Spoiler: Midturn ResultsPPS sends 3 Science into the Boneyard, clearing 6 floors of the installation. They emerge with some resources (++++ Eco), but little else to show for their efforts this year.
Eye of Nix activated.
Principia Personnel Solutions
Mor 20, Inf 4

It has several terrabytes of data attached, specifications with ancient designations and tracking routes and numbers, shipping manifests and research notes cribbed together from various factions and with a very recent date. The name on the address would indicate that it was originally written as an internal company memo... but it also contains a text file with a single word.

Definitely an interesting revelation Zeus. I assume you would approach me for a trade. We are initiating various discussions, but we can discuss the last piece of the chronarch if you are interested.
Spoiler: Channel Seldiva - MOR 9
We prefer to keep out of the public eye and get on with our business. However, we are not opposed to fair trade. We hold an item that could enhance one of your military leaders. We would gladly hear your offer for this.
Spoiler: Magnus Apparatus - MOR 9
Our new friend, we have a trade to propose to you that we hope you will find interesting. As the galaxy now knows we hold one piece of the Helion and you another. Although incomplete, we would value such an item and accept the risk of not finding the third piece. What would you be willing to trade for this?
Spoiler: Logopathor - MOR 9
Although the Astral winds may not favour the timing, we would still happily use his services. You have our thanks and will not find opposition to your acquiring Sector 22.
Spoiler: Hecation Shade - MOR 9
Our not so long past co-conspirator. We hope to continue our cooperation with you in the form of trade this time. Our path places us against the Nascence and the slip of the PPS, if one can call it that, indicates that you hold both parts of the Null Box. We would happily trade with you to acquire it and use it to silence the Nascence and later the competition of minds should they come against you. Let us know your thoughts.
Spoiler: PPS - MOR 9
Dear Trismegistus, although the accidental data leak has certainly made the galaxy an interesting place at a key turning point, we would not have been unappreciative of preferential treatment. However, that was not the reason for this communication. Although we did not have the resources to fully take advantage of your kind offer this turn we will be more prepared next turn, although we would need more information to assess the size of the contingent we can send. In addition to that, if you are open to the possibility, we would ask for the right to send our own expedition to supplement your own efforts given the limitations that prevail usually.
OOC: they can only clear 10 floors next turn, so we can send two expeditions to clear a total of 20 floors. Can they tell me how many installations they have and how many floors explored.Last edited by kemmotar; 2021-06-06 at 11:41 AM.

Spoiler: Oracle family companyI see you have made some gains thanks to the Domin leaving, and made good use of the weapon of their demise. As scholars first and foremost, the preservation of the recently acquired tech is of utmost importance, we would rather get a sum for its use (a small one, we are after all friendly) that lose the opportunity to study it, of course, offers can be heard. And I do have a couple unrelated ones for you, though we'll let you take the lead on deals.

Spoiler: Chrysaorian HegemonyEsteemed hegemons,
We were going to wait for knowledge of the logopathite's stance on current land division before contacting you, but the recent occurences take priority. You know what this is about, we know what this is about, so lets cut to the chase: what do you want for the last piece of the Cradle?
-Ala cait "The follower", second speaker of hecan, Magni.
Spoiler: Knights of OriasEsteemed knights,
in addition to our previous offer to hire Reckum's Ralephs, We'd like to add a willingness to buy Your piece of the Egalitarium, seeing how useless the thing is when not complete.

Spoiler: ShadeGreetings,
We see that the Congress is promoting growth through economy this year and are inquiring if you would be interested in a trade? We can offer (7 Econ) our years economic worth for your continued growth. As for what in return we do have a decided interest in the study of your Null Box. We would be willing to trade our years economy for one of the pieces you have. We would then follow up with another (7 Econ) next year after we have confirmed that you did indeed send it to us.
If you have no desire for that deal we would be willing to trade our (7 Econ) wealth for a slightly greater amount in equivalent resources (Mor, Psi, Esp, or Inf).
Regards,
Supreme Judge Anderson
Spoiler: SeldivaGreetings Friends,
Would you like to meet to discuss the ramifications of this year's Congress?

Spoiler: To the Competion of Minds
We find ourselves rapidly running out of patience.
For two seasons now, we have offered our surveillance capabilities and our very educated guesses into the culprit of the strike on you. In return, we have heard silence and accusations. Do you require our espionage to solve this mystery before the galaxy, or shall we have nothing to do with one another?
Spoiler: To the Hecatian Shade
Yes, we were expecting a missive.
We shall be blunt. There is nothing you could possibly offer that will result in us giving you the final piece of the Cradle.
However, we may be willing to lease it to you for a single use, provided that you have an appropriate offering. We will deliberate as to what form this might take, though we are open to suggestions.
Spoiler: To the Oracle Family Company
We are certainly interested. What do you desire? We are willing to provide a (Tier 2 VIP of your choice), delivered next season, should you wish it, or our component of the Primal Monolith. We are also open to suggestions.

Spoiler: To the Oracle Family CompanyThis call is being recorded for quality assurance purposes.
"Hello, this is Trismegistus calling back from Principia Personnel Solutions,
We are sorry to hear that you were adversely effected by our malware leak. It was an unfortunate problem in our security that is now being taken care of. As one of our most valued clients, please know that your fortune is our ambition.
Regarding the offer of investigation into ancient wonders, we currently only have two worthy of note: the Boneyard and Chaldifor's Razor. The former we have already set up a forward base in and are exploring, but the latter remains an unknown. Any forces you would care to send us at the end of this solar year would be surely paid for in full from the dividends to come."
Spoiler: OOCThey have 2 installations, one of which is at 6/20 and the other hasn't been touched yet. As I mentioned, they'd be willing to give you the Archeotech if they keep the lion's share of the stats and items that are uncovered. They are also accepting the risk of delving.

Spoiler: PPS"kyrath,
We would like to start with a 1:1 ratio, on standard payment rate for such things, and if possible we would like to ask for a measure more, to be paid at the same ratio, these agents would be on loan, instead of used for a hit, and I'll be willing to part with a minor object from our Arco-Medean excavations as further payment and to secure the service"
Spoiler: OOCI want 13 esp, for 13 Eco, easy and simple, if I need to sweeten the deal I can throw in an ornament of war (+1 mil).
Spoiler: Chrysaorian HegemonyPretty distatesful to start negotiations in a total refusal, but okay, here goes a proposal:
The "lease" (more like a share agreement) would consist of a mathematically equal division of profit based upon the parts owned, being 5/6th for us, 1/6th for you with 3 aditional [ECO] going towards you from our coffers for the 10% share of the object.
-Ala cait "The follower", second speaker of hecan, Magni.
Spoiler: Competition of mindsGreetings to you as well competitors,
glad to see you are better enough to trade. As you likely know, from our sadly passive support of the archive we are more interested in the archive for the purpose of studying them, and wouldn't part with it, at most we would consider renting it for a season to other interested parties.
We would be very interested in the other trade, how much more would that "slightly" be?
-Ala cait "The follower", second speaker of hecan, Magni.
Spoiler: OOCI think you may have the event wrong, is investments into Eco that are cheaper, not investments from eco (though investments from eco to eco are also affected), still interested though.
Spoiler: Magnus aparatusGentle Machine,
We wish for slight respite on the deal, with payment of 1 [sci] to be posponed or replaced this year. That would make:
this term: 6 sci +/- 1 other.
next term: 4 sci +/- 1 sci.
with the + and - of one being inverse between them, and decided by you.
We await your answer,

It was indeed...unfotunate. But internal turmoil I think always leads to some leaks...nevertheless, it was interesting and certianly muddies the waters...which is an advantage for those who can make the best of it.
As to the installations, we would be happy to provide you with sufficient tech teams to reach the 15th floor on your currently explored isntallation. We could then send our own agent to clear the last 5 on our account if you would allow us this right? That would make the most of your resources and allow you to reap the benefits of delving in your secondary installation.
Spoiler: OOCThey can only delve 10 points a turn. I can use the big sci vip to explore the last 5 floors.
Spoiler: Chrysaorian Hegemony - Morale 9
We would be happy to receive the clone of Zeus as well as the second part of the monolith. We would be certain that completing an important piece as a high tier archetoech woudl certainly be worth the trade...And we would also ask that we receive the close at the end of this season...

We can appreciate your motivations, we hope you will fare better than the Archive. We can offer you a significant economic incentive in exchange for the Null archetoech. We would also like to inform you that Seldiva has approached us to provide them with military assistance. We would be happy to keep you apprised of developments and provide to you our assistance in purchasing the item in question at the same price as Seldiva may be willing to pay. Spoiler: To PPS
We appreciate it. We need nothing at this moment, but may be interested in a token amount (3-5) Espionage, depending on how the Competition answers us.
We would like, however, to ask that in the case that the Shade breaks a second trade deal, you work with us to eradicate them.
Unless there is anything else you particularly need, or wish to offer, in which case we are always willing to come to the table.
Spoiler: To the Hecatian Shade
It is not distasteful to be direct and forthcoming about our position. Providing you with the Cradle in its entirety would be tantamount to giving you control of this sector. We are unwilling to do that.
Your offer is laughable. We provide you with (5 permanent stat points), effectively, and we receive 1 in return, along with a smattering of economic resources, which we neither want nor need? No.
This is our offer, then: you lease *us* the three pieces of the Cradle you possess (note that this does not effect ownership), and we make 4 of whatever you want for you and 2 permanent stats for ourselves. We are an honourable* nation, and our word is law. We shall remind you that we have broken no deals and attacked no parties with whom we have not been at war. If this is the course of action you suggest, we swear before PPS - who no doubt can read this - that if we willingly break such an agreement, we forsake forever more any dealings with them.
*Note here that this is used much more for the "lawful" connotation of honour and not the "good" connotation. Not making claims of morality.
Spoiler: To OFC
The Fission lab *cannot* be used again this season, so what you ask is off the table.
We are willing to provide you with a tier 2 VIP of you choice (any stat or specialization) to be delivered next season, or the piece of the Primal Monolith and, say, 8 Econ? Certainly not both.
If you are worried about us keeping our word, then we are willing to instead *lease* you the Fission Lab, so that you can use it under your own power next season. That would be a commitment this season.
Spoiler: OOC
Have confirmed with the GM that I can, as part of my EOT, lease you the Fission Lab. You would get to use it next turn during midturn, and then it would return to me. Ownership wouldn't change, but this would give you more control over the outcome.

Hecatian Shade

The breath
Alora was a rock, nobody cared about damaging it or what it may hold, it was its main quality and why the fanatics decided to "buy it" for their experiments.
The missions to Archo-medean installations had been successful, even if they had brought undue attention, they had brought wealth, the tools of war and most important of all for the fanatic, they had brought a... thing (the fanatics weren't comprised of scientists for the most part), a thing of many faces, of many states that terrified psykers and resonated with an energy similar to what they pumped into the Herald to keep it running, they were thrilled.
Most of the fanatics soon were enraged, as all who opperated the weapons were sent away, and the scientists watched from a ship near Alora as the system they devised to feed it the thing was activated. A sane man would expect the fanatics who weren't near to be relieved, a sane man wouldn't understand them.
The system was unnecesary, as soon as the thing was near the Herald it turned to it, and as if called the thing approached to be a part of that greater whole, with the collision releasing a calamity of force, Alora shattered under the strain, the ship of the testers was devoid of its own energy, leaving them to die in the void and in many places a new star appeared for a few days. And the source of the glow understood, for the first time in millenia, not the crutial, not Hecan itself, nor too much about its own person, but it remembered language (even the piddling languages of others), it remembered clearly many galaxies, some of its own powers, which it tested on the nearby stellar objects; and it remembered far too many of the swarming creatures that followed along with Hecan and the what may drive the being itself... The Hunger, yes, it also was felt again.
After the glow disappeared the Herald dwarfed rocks like Alora, and felt curious of some of the tiny instruments of war that although damaged were still attached to its body, it once again remembered the followers and a flash came of destroyed ships and a mighty blow. Reflexively it touched a dent that would have been large before but now scarcely covered anything in its new body, another flash, this time the one who caused such an injury, with it came a wish to fill the blanks, the swarm was involved, that much was sure and it would do the herald good to visit them, thus it went...
Spoiler: Oracle family companyYour warning is a welcome one, we might have granted the Channel too much doubt. I'm afraid that, as previously stated, the null box is to remain in our hands, as I've even rejected a better offer for it I can assure you it is for no other reason that a wish to maintain the keepsakes of our old masters.
As a reward for the information of their military build up, it will be reserved for your use free of charge the next two years.
As far as your lease, if we are to find ourselves in a state of war, I'm afraid we won't be able to buy it anytime soon, useful as it would be. If any other deals are to be made we'll let you know.
Be well,
-Warmaster Adalith, Commander of the Herald's servants.
Spoiler: Chrysaoriam HegemonyFair enough, on the distaste.
You, my friend, forget that economic resources are used to build such infraestructure, as we said, the plan was for the most mathematically fair solution for the effort to acquire the parts, as far as possible given the scale of operations, let me walk you through it, although I'm sure you know this is the fairest deal:
Spoiler: Math (slightly OOC, not pretty)ownership:
3/4th =75%
1/4th =25%
Prize:
6 permanent stats, 16, 666... % of the earnings each.
1 stat= 5 eco
60% stat = 3 eco
60 % of 16, 6666 % ≈ 10%
1 stat and 3 Eco leaves you with more or less 26,6666.. % profit, so 1,6666...% more than what is owed.
Saying that you care not about the economic aid while speaking of building up is actually laughable, and were it to come from someone less cult I'll take as nothing but a crude, petty way to impose dominance. As it comes from you, though, I'll take it as a negotiating tactic, and we can move on.
I have two counter proposals:
You can pull the trigger, make us 5, make yourself 1, plus 1 extra monetary unit (Eco), so 3 % more earnings.
We pull the trigger, with you telling us which two stats you want, this is 6% more benefitial to you than our previous deal, and more importantly, it means the one who is less in danger of having detailed intel on their new improvements is the one who has to state them. More of a security concern that anything, but I wager there are more prying ears for me than for you.
thoughts?

Spoiler: To the Hecatian Shade
First, a matter of note. It is no contradiction to say that we care not for the benefits offered by additional economic resources. The Cradle is different. The Cradle allows you to create well past what is sustainable under normal circumstances. That is the true value of the Cradle.
Putting that aside, there are two things you must consider.
First, you stand to benefit most from any arrangement we make, as you own three pieces to our one. As such, we have more power in these negotiations, and what is a "fair" deal must account for the fact that you are willing to pay a greater price to see those benefits than we are, since the benefits for us are more slight.
Secondly, we cannot trust you to uphold any bargain you make. We are willing to deal with you for our mutual benefit, but you have broken a trade dealing in the past. We have no guarantees that you will not make use of our piece of the cradle and provide nothing in return, trusting in its gifts to keep you safe from retaliation, and you have not behaved in a way that allows us to extend you any faith.
So, we must reject both your proposals. Our original proposal stands. You lease us the pieces, and get 2/3rds of what it produces. If it is security you worry for, we can establish a system of codes here and now to let you indicate what you desire from the Cradle, but neither your proposals are acceptable to us.
We await your reply.

Re: Total War: Principia IC
The intro music to betting war
For this episode, miss Haliday is lounging on a beach chair on a far-off exclusive resort planet. Aides from a handful of greatly endangered races are serving her, some bringing snacks while another holds her drink in prime 'take a sip position'. As the camera zooms in, Gally Haliday sits up and puts a pair of massive glasses on before snapping, which ends the intro music. The soft sound of waves can be heard even over the audio balancing.
"Morning from today's sponsor Ghandash Resort in the Primeva Sector everyone! We have quite a bit to speak about this week on the show because, frankly, we're a stats show and Principia Personel systems just dropped a huge info dump that we can pick apart and use to make some money this week. How about it? That said, bookies would have already taken a look at all this stuff so maybe... let's just try not to lose some money they shall we?"
"First things first, to those of you who DON'T know, Principia has a Galactic Congress formed a long time ago, nasty thing, basically hands-off police for the sector. Most important thing is that, were they to side with one person, it would basically turn fighting back against that person into a slog that would last... well longer than the time allowed for a Season of Conquest. Basically, if the Galactic Congress sides with another team, Seldiva is going to pull out to Principia, and honestly, I can't imagine any of the factions in Principia standing up to the Congress. Basically, it'd be game over."
"Now, why does this matter? Well, the Congress cares a lot about the junk that was left behind by the archmedians when they dipped. If someone gets 5 pieces of their tech, Congress would side with them. That puts several of the Factions in the game, The Hegemony, Shade and Oracle Family Company are all pretty close to that point, with a couple of key trades being all it takes."
"Now if you watch Radio chatter like I do, you might notice that there are a lot of encrypted messages going back and forth between those guys, though about what we don't know. What we do know, is that I'd bet on Factions around Principia making moves against some of those key players sooner rather than later, because leaving them alone is a ticking timebomb prepped to end the season."
"Now for those of you who ONLY bet on the Contestants... well we have it on pretty good authority that Victorya and the rest are more focused on striving toward THEIR win conditions as opposed to gunning for knocking anyone backward this year, but who knows when it comes to the next several years? They and the other factions in Principia might need to watch out for places like the Hegemony getting too much defence online before they collect the last pieces...."

So sorry to suddenly pull away the offer, but with the change in Congress (despite our votes going towards the bill) we are no longer in need of MIL at all, as it was all going to go toward training some of our newer recruits, seizing the opportunity from congress, but we don't truly need MIL this season otherwise.
If you would be interested, there is still ECON on the Table for INF. We're trying to set a sector record here.

Thank you for letting the more... ambitious heads in the Galaxy know about the interesting things people have found.
We are going to be blunt, this results in a serious shift in priorities for our relationship with you. We know that you're returning to your entertaining roots, but we need to know something important.
How can we get our hands on some of these?
Additionally, as we're fairly confident you're the only people in the Galaxy that can read our mail, a proposal.
We are happy to set up some private meetings this turn and say nothing TRULY of note during the next. Seeing as there are some people who would LOVE to read out mail, you can offer our mail out to others for whatever you want to make from it, and we can assure you that we won't be upset because... well we offered to let you do it. Consider it building goodwill.
Just let us know if you're taking us up on the offer. We have some adspace we're happy to lend.

Spoiler: To the Chrysaorian Hegemony"We have an accord then: an empty deal, with potential to revisit a bargain for some of our forces as a gesture of similar substance.
Meanwhile, PPS will keep an eye out for any unwholesome dealings from the Shade. Though they have proven more reliable in recent sols, an oathbreaker poisons the town well forever. Or something. Honestly, I forget how the story ends."
Spoiler: To the Oracle Family Company"Well why don’t we put it this way: the eyes of the sector are certainly off of our respective companies. With everyone huddling in the dark afraid of mad scientists and ancient playthings, our shared announcement in the coming quarter will have less guns pointed our way. Divvying up the threats keeps us all safer, really.
I guess in the end it really was a happy accident!
As mentioned, we would be pleased to receive such an agent, we are aiming to clear at least a third of the available installation sections on the books next year."
Spoiler: OOCAs of now their plan is to clear 10-12 floors next year from the 34 they have left, so anything sent will not go amiss.
Spoiler: To the Hecatian Shade"Unfortunately a good portion of our resources are promised this year to another. While we do appreciate your business, we can only offer slightly better terms than our initial offer.
Please see the revised offer, and do let me know if you have any questions for us."
Spoiler: OOCThe highest they are willing to go this turn is 10 Esp for 10 Eco, sadly.
Spoiler: To Channel Seldiva"Regarding shadow-talk, we have provided similar services to other factions in the past, so we would be happy to do the same for you, our most popular returning customer! Please let us know the representative you plan on sending to start next year’s talks and we will arrange our own speaker.
As far as your proposed acquisitions are concerned… you have not chosen soft targets, my friend. Though the Hegemony is tougher in terms of overall security, by the sheer yield of scientists the Shade brought to bear this year they will undoubtedly have incredibly sophisticated technology at their fingertips protecting their treasured assets.
However, everything has a price. Though it will not come cheap, we will see what we can do."
Spoiler: OOCStealing Archeotech can get pricey quickly. You have to beat their Passive Defense vs Sci (1/2 Sci + 1/2 Mor, plus any Passive Defense boosts) and then it’s 5 per Tier per piece. As both of those Archeotechs are Tier 2, that’s 10 points beyond Passive Defense per piece, or 20 for the whole thing.
PPS would recommend an investment of no less than 40 Esp/Psi/Sci for this, and they have committed a healthy chunk of their resources elsewhere this turn (including for you). Right now they have 16 Esp left unaccounted for not including your previous bid, but this is a multiple-turn job.Spoiler: Stuff I'm Working OnSmall Justice

Important information I was only aware of today, which severely effects the nature of the deal we made during the summit. I’m sure you’re already aware of it, but it’s fairly important we discuss it in more depth.

Greetings,
We would, of course, gladly take the territory granted. But certain more utilitarian elements of our population believe that the evacuation of the region, subsequent Ultrumite sacking, and now the removal of most religious paraphernalia has taken from it all theistic significance. We would still, of course, take the deal happily, but many would prefer a direct transfusion of other resources.

Spoiler: Public Statement to the Galaxy
The Chrysaorian Hegemony has been made aware of a recent broadcast by Channel Seldiva, where they indirectly called for aggression against several nations, one of which being the Hegemony. As such, this is an official response.
As of the current moment, the Hegemony has two completed pieces of Archeomedean technology, of the five required to sway the galaxy. Of the remainder, we have no intention of completing the Primal Monolith, and it is ludicrous to suggest that the Hecatian Shade would willingly relinquish ownership of their three-quarters of the Cradle. Yes, the Hegemony is well-positioned, defensively, but we are much further from any sort of galactic domination than Channel Seldiva would have you believe.
We cannot speak for the other accused parties, of course. Evaluate them as you may.
Spoiler: To Logopathor
It is particularly late in the season, and we are reluctant to commit one of the Pantheon, but if this information is a critical as you say we are willing to meet.
Spoiler: To the Competition of Minds and Channel Seldiva
A shame. We had hoped you would collectively prioritize the truth of the matter enough to spend a mere (3 ESP) on it. Apparently that was not the case, despite the previous grandstanding by Channel Seldiva. Very well. The decision is yours, and we will respect it.
Spoiler: To Channel Seldiva
Two matters.
First, we have no desire to pursue the assembly of ancient technology for completeness' sake. Put your worries to rest. Our priorities are our own.
Secondly, we wish to inform you that if we discover you or the Competition acting against us in any way, we will simply give the remaining Cradle piece to the Hecatian Shade, with no conditions.
Third, if you have a Tier 1 MIL VIP, we will happily trade for their use this season.
Take care.
Spoiler: To the Knights of Orias
We wish to purchase a (Tier 1 MIL VIP) for this season. Do you have any available?
Thank you

We are interested in a copy of your abilities, unfortunately we do not currently have anyone capable of being cloned to this effect. It was a matter of expediency that drives the request for the deal to be fulfilled within the year. You should be able to accommodate, although the deal will not hinge on this if you have plans for your alter ego. We do not have doubts you will not renege.
However, the price we ask of you is relatively small. The clone can be replaced the following year at no cost and the monolith has no value to you. It has only limited value to us...and so the actual drain on your resources would be minimal. We might consider a small payment on top of what we have requested to be generous, however, given the power of the artefact, we would not even consider a trade with most other factions. The value of completing such a wonder far outweighs the price we ask. Unless both are offered in return for the last piece we unfortunately would not be able to accommodate.
If you do not see sufficient value in the last piece of the chronarch, we would be happy to trade solely for the value of the monolith. Though that would not be high given the current state of the galaxy.
Spoiler: OOC
I need a Mor2 VIP. So I can't use the fission lab myself.
Spoiler: Logopathor - MOR 9
Unfortunately, many more moves are being made this turn than has been accounted for. We may be able to spare some military power with the centerpiece being an artifact that enhances military capabilities if you prefer instead of recapturing one of your ancestral sectors. We would understand both sides, however, with the threat of the Domin vanished, being flanked by an ally a non-aggressive party may beneficial in hedging against potential aggression.
Spoiler: OOC
I can give you a +1 mil item that you can trade for instead even if you can't use it. Maybe some mil/econ as well. Or sector 22.
Spoiler: PPS - MOR 9
We will provide you with our own science teams as well as access to a high level individual to assist with clearing installations in the following year. We are happy to share temp stats as you have suggested, but given that we are providing significant resources in the use of a high level individual with a high degree of specialisation we also request access to any items uncovered by the expeditions.
Spoiler: OOCSending 6 sci and SCI 5 VIP.
Spoiler: Hecatian Shade - MOR 9
We can appreciate your stance. We can consider an offer that includes the artifact that enhances the power of your military. What is a deal with which you may be comfortable? Or are you perhaps seeking to complete the collection of 5 archeotech devices?
Spoiler: Channel Seldiva - MOR 9
Blasting the ether with conjencture about archeotech collectors is hardly a worthwhile stratagem. You only seek to draw attention from your own activities. We have not dealt with one another before, but we do not stand convinced. You are started a war with the Nascence but never made any actual offensive moves, a sham perhaps to gain temporary favour of the Archive. You may have achieved a high standing in the council but actions are what matter in the end. How will you act upon your words other than to increase your own standing and dominion?Last edited by kemmotar; 2021-06-09 at 12:23 PM.

To be clear, the Fission Lab is capable of fully rewriting the genetic code of whoever you choose. Any individual of sufficient import can be carefully constructed to suit whatever needs you wish.
For a Tier 3 Archeotech piece and some additional stats, you are currently asking for a Tier 2 VIP and a Tier 2 Archeotech piece. The Fission Lab is worth effectively [20 temporary stat points] each turn; we believe that for that to be offset, you would need to provide stats equal to [12 temporary points of Morale/Econ].
Failing that, we believe the previous deal we offered - with two distinct options - is a fair one. We are willing to provide you with the Primal Monolith piece you require and [8 Econ] to account for the difference in tier between the two. Or we can provide you with the use of the Fission Lab in the subsequent turn, which is effectively providing you [20 temporary stats], which we think equals the value of 1 piece of archeotech.
Please let us know what you think.
Spoiler: OOC
When you use the Fission Lab, you get to choose what affinity you want the resulting VIP to have. If I were to clone Zeus, I could make him a Tier 2 SCI, or a Tier 2 ECO, or a Tier 1 ESP/1 PSI. So long as you have a Tier 2 VIP, the Fission Lab would do what you want.

We can agree in principle but not quantum. A completed high tier archeotech device holds much more value than a completed lower tier device. And a cost is not the same as a benefit. You carry no cost to the activation of the fission lab nor risk. [8 Econ] would hardly make up the difference between a completed high tier device and the monolith.
Although we have designs, we can offer our piece in exchange for use of the fission lab, the second part of the monolith and we can add [8 Econ] to our bid in consideration of a positive relationship we have maintained so far. This deal should be of benefit to us both and we do not underestimate the value of the completed product nor the added value of [econ] this turn given the recent council ruling."God does not play dice with the universe; He plays an ineffable game of his own devising, which might be compared, from the perspective of any of the other players, to being involved in an obscure and complex version of poker in a pitch dark room, with blank cards, for infinite stakes, with a dealer who won't tell you the rules, and who smiles all the time." The Galactic Congress ruling is only applicable of investments into economic resources, which makes it of limited value, considering that the production capabilities of the planets in our systems are presumably close to being maxed out. And there is an opportunity cost in not activating the Fission Lab for our own benefit; we are losing out on effectively [20 temporary stats].
That said, you argue well. We would be willing to accept [8 Eco] and [2 Morale, Espionage, or Psionics], along with the terms you have offered, as a fair compromise.

Very well. The terms are accepted, though obviously we will need to know which of the three secondary stats proposed you're providing us before plans for the season are finalized.
You will be able to use the Fission Lab next season; the clone will be available for your use immediately afterwards, and the Primal Monolith is yours.

Once we have finalised all trades we will inform you accordingly. We hope the chronarch serves you well."God does not play dice with the universe; He plays an ineffable game of his own devising, which might be compared, from the perspective of any of the other players, to being involved in an obscure and complex version of poker in a pitch dark room, with blank cards, for infinite stakes, with a dealer who won't tell you the rules, and who smiles all the time." Re: Total War: Principia IC
Spoiler: To the PPS: MOR 12
Let's put a pin into the whole, theft process now, as well as a pin on arranging a private meeting. We're not convinced it will be needed yet. Of course, everything changes year to year.
We will send you the payment we can offer this year for our other request (We will send a missive in advance to let you know the number). Keep an eye out for future orders from us; we're fairly confident we're going to have a busy year.
Neptune
Spoiler: To the Oracle Family Company: MOR 12
I believe you're likely speaking about the most recent, wildly popular broadcast from our host Gally Haliday. Girl has a way with money.
In terms of OUR standing, we believe people know where we stand in the Galaxy, on top of the graves of Zultar and as some of the only remaining Fivefold Scourge. Maybe our methods aren't Universally praised for following along the lines that Galactic Congress draws, but we've never been ones for authority anyway.
Channel Seldiva has influence in the Galaxy, don't mistake that for an opinion on Politics. We're just making good TV.
We take it though, that this is a rejection of our offer of Economy for influence.
Spoiler: To Logopathor: MOR PUBLIC
So let's be clear about the current situation.
We offered a deal last year, which was never accepted, but then you sent us the payment anyway. Admittedly you're flexible on what you want, but you're still demanding that we pay.
Crystal clear. This deal was never ratified and given the option this season, we would not be making the same offer as it would make some of our promises to other factions difficult to keep. We already have the resources you sent us without precedent, and anything we sent at this point would be charity for the sake of maintaining a deal that we never signed.
Our offer is 3 ECO to cover last season's blunder and an additional 1:1 trade of at least 5 ESP for ECO. The two are paired. Ensure that you don't make the same mistake again by not confirming our deals.
We find this offer generous of us considering we could simply walk away.
Neptune.
Spoiler: To the Knights of Orias: MOR 12
We would like to add the Helldivers and Valefor to our purchase if possible.
Spoiler: To the Shade: MOR 12
We are sorry about the blunder we made during the middle of this year. It's easy to forget that a Veil gate is there when nothing has come through it for several years.
We can assure you, both of the novel connections we established between our lands and Shade lands will be properly switched off next year when we have the opportunity to. Not doing so would be a breach of our agreement and would give you open grounds for war.
Toodles!
Seldiva.
Spoiler: To the Hegemony: MOR 12
Well, last season it was all about rebuilding, and this season it's been all about the Competition of Minds again, constant bickering between the factions. Wonderful television, occasionally painful to sit through during a meeting.
We understand that they want to let bygones be bygones for the time being and we commend them for it, though it's certainly not our style. Fire, blood and spraypaint is more of our motif.
Absolutely certain we can't convince you to part with some of your INF for Cold hard cash? I'm buying.
If not, then if you're looking to offload some MOR, PSI or ESP we would appreciate it, though we would let you know, in the name of respect, that a good amount of what we purchase would be assisting the Competiton of Minds.
Love,
Neptune.

I'm afraid not. We have no further use for Econ this season, but we would be willing to trade Influence [Ours] for Espionage or Morale [Yours].

Very well, but we would like [7 Morale] and [3 Espionage] in exchange for [10 Influence]. If you do not have [3 ESP], we'll take [2 ESP and 8 MOR] instead.

We cannot promise ESP as we have committed ESP to others and do not know if we're getting any from Logopathor yet.
We can happily commit 7 for 7 MOR:INF and if we get the ESP we can revisit.
