in lockdown every one stay at home so, i WANT to asked some tasty recipes for me and my pet's food recipe

So I have been working on some cheese based recipies recently.

1) Scrabled Eggs.

Take about 6 large eggs and beat them. Add salt and pepper to taste (caution to use a little less salt than usual though).
Finely chop some cured ham into thin strips -I like proscutto
Gently melt about 150g of mascarpone in a large flat bottomed pan with a lump of butter
Pour in the beaten eggs and continuously stir the mix over a low heat
Once the cheese and the eggs are evenly mixed stir in the ham
Once the mix is begging to set more evenly put some toast on
Serve on the toast.

Serves about 3 people... unless you really like it, then it serves fewer.



2) Pea and Bacon pasta

Fry some chopped back bacon in pan with a little butter; about 1cm² pices are good. If the bacon has been soaked with water you might need to drain it. About 250g bacon is good.
Melt some mascarpone in a pan - I ususally use about 300g (spot a theme here) and stir in the bacon. Add liberal lashings of black pepper an a modest amount onf finely chopped sage.
Let this simmer for a few minutes on a very low heat then stir in some chopped mint, a genrous spoonful of strong english mustard and about 300g of garden peas - fresh or frozen are fine.

Whilst this heats through boil some pasta till nearly done.

Add the pasta the sauce and finish for the last few min in the sauce.

Generally feeds about 4-5 people

Lunch: 2 chicken breasts and 1.5 lbs potatoes air fryed.

Dinner: more chicken but in wraps.

No but I eat like one. I used to weigh 420, I weigh 250 (220 if you discount the stretchy skin suit I'm stuck with.) There's no group with as much experience fighting off hunger cravings as body builders haha

Cholesterol doesn't worry me. The largest factor for heart disease is obesity followed by smoking, followed by genetics, followed by cholesterol, followed by inactivity. I'm beating 4/5 right now ;)


That breakfast has 450 calories and is crazy stupid filling, which helps with the obesity issue. I could eat a gallon of cereal with milk and not be full, so that's the impetus there. It's also easy to get up and make, where a better breakfast takes more mental energy I don't have after waking up.

I also eat HDL rich foods which balances it out some. Avocados and salmon help with cholesterol, I eat them regularly for that reason (not for the taste that's for sure...) And a god awful amount of fiber. My last doctor visit my blood pressure was 110/60 and my resting was 64, my heart is fine.

Edit: Sorry I am defensive, I get a lot of flack from family and friends about my eating habits.

I don't take any of that as being defensive. You should be proud, you're doing great! But heck yeah I bet 8 eggs is filling! I can't even finish four on a good day and I generally only eat one meal.

Woah! I don't think I could live on one meal, I like eating too much haha! What do you normally eat for your meal?

Depends. Often a curry, with rice or a teriyaki meat and rice. Those are pretty big ones. Sometimes just a bowl of pasta. Pretty random really, but usually large enough to carry me through the day. It's not good for weight loss though, been trying to be better about eating smaller meals more often rather than one big meal after dark.

The "small snacks plus big meal" method has worked well for me for weight loss for a while. And it makes me more comfortable too; I don't often get super hungry, so sitting down for a full meal multiple times a day never felt right to me.

So I'll eat something like a cheese stick and some ham earlier in the day, or like some yogurt or something, light stuff like that about twice in the day, then a big dinner around 7-8 PM, or later if I'm running late.

Being in the South West, I like my eggs on a nice fried tortilla (wheat, not a fan of corn), avocado, some cilantro and a nice rich salsa and sour cream. I'd eat it more often but it's a bit time consuming and heavy. Same with Migas, if I have pre-fried tortillas, for something faster.

Eh, it's not me, just a restaurant I like. Eggs Benedict is one of my favorite foods, and they do a smoked salmon variation that I get every damn time. It's the best thing there, and they have a lot of really good things there.

Just look up a Huevos Rancharos recipe. That's basically what it is.

Also, what are Migas?

Migas are fried, generally stale or going stale, tortillas cut into strips and then added to egg. Basically just a way to stretch tortillas out. Pretty hearty.

I've never really understood the appeal of sour cream as a condiment. It's largely tasteless and just serves to add a ton of extra calories.

As an ingredient (like in stroganoff), it's great, but otherwise, I'd rather leave it than take it if given the option.

It's not even largely tasteless. Like, if it tasted like nothing, I wouldn't have much of an issue with it. But it tastes like nothing that has somehow gone bad.

To be more serious, I wouldn't mind sour cream if it wasn't a standard addition on so many things. All it takes is to forget to specify no sour cream once (or not notice it when reading the menu, or make the request but have it ignored or forgotten by the kitchen staff) for a bad experience. It, along with cilantro, should fall into the "ask if they want this" category IMO. Hell, I've been asked if I want onions or mushrooms on dishes that include them standard, so it's not like this isn't already done at several places with other ingredients. And onions and mushrooms are infinitely better than sour cream.

To be less serious, I stand by my statement that sour cream tastes like nothing that's gone bad. Cream actually has a taste (and a fantastic one, at that). Why they would ruin perfectly good cream like that I'll never know.

Fermented products are good for you. They help with gut flora and probiotics. In moderation, it's good for you. Your body needs fats to help with vitamin absorption too.

No. I didn't say that at all. I didn't even insinuate it.

I wouldn't sit down and eat just a plain cup of yogurt either. Unflavored yogurt is, like sour cream, a cooking ingredient.

I'll eat an entire tub of plain yogurt quite happily... but the only thing I want sour cream on isa baked potato, and even then I don't want very much.
