Default Systems with "class pathing"? Visuals wanted.

Does anybody have a nice, easy to follow, preferably *visual* map of which classes lead to which classes in…

Warhammer Fantasy ("careers", iirc, and, yes, I recognize that the answer will vary by edition)

    Dungeons the Dragoning 40k 7e

… or any other system that have a similar class pathing thing going?

(Any other systems actually *have* anything similar?)

You mean like a flow chart for classes and prestige classes?

I ended with spreadsheets covered in colored lines for DtD40k. The most recent draft of the book that I posted last night has an exit line under eaxh class. It's not 100% comprehensive as it only considers the feat, magic, sword school buys and skill access. But it catches the easiest paths. I have something similar prepped for book 2 when book 1 is finished.

Really once you start considering other ways to access some of the feats, ignore some feats, off class access to magic/sword schools, and starting a character with some skills at 4 & 5 you could end up with a very confusing chart.

Kind of hard for WFRP1e and 2e, there are many careers. Although you could create a chat for ways to reach a specific career it where you can go from each one. In 4e it's much simpler, having essentially gone to the 40kRP model: each Career has four ranks from lowest to highest, when you've spent enough XP in your current rank's advances you can move to another rank (although unlike the 40k games you don't keep purchasing privileges for unbought options from previous ranks).

Dark Heresy did have flowcharts for how their classes progressed, but that was just to make it clear which specialisations had which versions of higher level ranks. You couldn't change Career, unless the game advanced enough that you switched over to Ascension rules, but that was because most were strongly tied to organisations (I think only the Scum weren't?). They got dropped in the more linear advancement-wise Rogue Trader and Deathwatch, the later games pretend not to have class systems, and Wrath & Glory doesn't let you change class (but it's not as restrictive for advancement).

Otherwise, maybe Shadow of the Demon Lord? I'm not familiar with the game, but I do know that as you level up you move from generic classes into a more specialised one, and then an even more specialised one. I don't like classes, I prefer point buy or classless levelled systems.

I have a class map for a homebrew system where each class can upgrade into one of three classes 4 times. The map is here
