Sirthis swallowed. Hard.
"...dear, has Cleph learned how to crawl?" he asked, bending over to see if Cleph had somehow got out and sneaked under the bed or something. There was rapidly building panic in his voice.

[Xihirli]

Clephesia giggled at Sirthis from under the bed and crawled further away, laughing.
"Oh, has she!?" Mab asked, delighted. "It's pretty late, I was beginning to worry I was coddling her too much."

[Valmark]

Sirthis snorted and leaned down on the floor, laughing in relief.
"Yup, she has and she has also started learning the best things I can teach- how to give others heart attacks. Come here you" he started crawling after Cleph, squeezing under the bed to reach his daughter.

He did not bother to mask the fact that he was proud of Cleph- after the initial panic subsided, that is.

Clephesia giggled and tried to get away, but crawling was still new and she ended up scooting on her belly, which was slow enough for Sirthis to grab her. She laughed. "La! La!"

[Valmark]

"Love you too" Sirthis replied carefully scooting back out with Cleph- he sat down beside the bed, now holding his daughter at face level to kiss her "You'll be unstoppable in the future, won't you Cleph?"

Her hands went to his face excitedly, which ended up in a smack. "La-la!"

Mab leaned next to Clephesia and kissed her on the cheek. "Are you hungry, girl?"
"Ma-ma!"
Mab lifted Clephesia up and pulled her close. Clephesia put a hand on Mab's belly. "Lif! Lif!"
Mab gasped and turned toward Sirthis. "Isn't she a smart little girl!" She kissed Cleph on the head. "Yes, that's Lif! Your little sister!"

"She's a little genius!" Sirthis giggled and leaned over to kiss Cleph's head too, but then stood to get dressed "I'll tell you if I go somewhere after the Grove- luckily for the next days I've got nothing planned that isn't family or friends time. Or both" he smiled at his wife and daughter "A nice, relaxing period with you is long overdue"

"Agreed!" Mab said. "Send Thespia in? So someone can hold me while I feed our daughter?"

Malyanna was at the grove when he arrived, a big blue egg next to her with a Glabrezu guarding it.
"Good morning, Sirthis."

[Valmark]

Sirthis passed by the flower room to say good morning to all and tell Thespia that Mab wished to be held.

When he got to the Grove and saw Malyanna Sirthis smiled.
"Morning Maly. Big demon. Gimme ten minutes?" Sirthis took up his shining mistletoe.

Druid Grove!

"No problem." Malyanna leaned against him while he cast.
"So. What are you going to do with your dragon treasure?"

[Valmark]

"Mmm... Well, first finish buying spell components" Sirthis mused as he cast "Then buy some potions. With what remains I'll either turn into a dragon and sleep on it or visit the Patchwork God- or both" he explained. Then remembered something and nodded at his Bag of Holding "Check it, there should be a new spellbook- all yours. If you want it, that is"

Malyanna reached in and took it. "Where'd you get it?" She asked, wiping it with a hand.
"Speaking of, want to learn some rituals today?"

[Valmark]

"Part of random treasures I found around dungeon- grabbed anything easy to carry" Sirthis said, remembering "Was all 'Uh stuff to sell' but realized it was such a waste. And you've been so nice between the egg and the diamonds for Zenov" he would have kissed her but he was busy casting.

His speech seemed... Dumber then usual- because his mind was occupied by the spell he was trying to keep his sentences simple.

"And yeah, I'd love that"

By the time Sirthis was finished, Maly’s ritual book was open.
"Which one did you have in mind?"

[Valmark]

"How much time do you have?" Sirthis asked "That spell for mass telepathy is perhaps the best spell I'd want, but it'll take hours. Otherwise I'd be happy to copy spells like Tiny Hut, Identify and Comprehend Languages, which eat into my actual non-book spells" he got his own book out.

[Xihirli]

"I have time to teach you Telepathic Bond," Malyanna said, passing him the book.
"It’s a good one but it doesn’t last."

[Valmark]

"Well... If I had it back in the Takadox fight maybe she wouldn't have targeted you. As long as we've got time to prepare this is a worthy one" Sirthis decided.

Does Malyanna have the ink? Sirthis doesn't. At least not right now.

And yeah, Sirthis will start copying and practicing the spell. It takes ten hours and 250 gp of ink according to Ritual Caster.

Malyanna looked at the ground.
"She didn’t target me."

[Valmark]

"Well, Leflabah wouldn't have shielded you if Takadox wasn't targeting you" Sirthis pointed out- then he thought about it and briefly looked away from his writing to look at Malyanna.
"You alright?" he asked.

Sirthis is fairly sure Malyanna feels responsible, possibly guilty and also grateful, but he'd rather try to get Malyanna to say that herself.

"Yeah. 'Course I'm fine. No skin of my nose if a goodie-goodie puts herself through hell for no reason." Malyanna wiped one eye.

[Valmark]

"Well... That nobody asked her is true. She jumped in to protect you all by herself" Sirthis nodded- then "I suppose she at least did you the favor of not having to go through an afterlife-Raise Dead routine yourself? That'd have been a real hassle" he tried nudging her a little bit. As he spoke he went back to writing and readying Malyanna's notes.

Malyanna nodded, trying to laugh it off. But she chewed her lip for a bit before helping Sirthis out, pointing out the way the magic worked and how it related to spells he was already familiar with.

"I imagine if you wanted you could slip her a letter to tell her that was helpful. I figure it wouldn't take a lot more for her to smile- and it would skip all that annoying awkward talk some like to do" Sirthis suggested before fully focusing on his work.

I feel like suggesting a way for Malyanna to thank Leff without having to eat her pride or something is a thing Sirthis would do.

Once Malyanna had left Sirthis Sent to Mab.
Heeeey my love. Come to the Grove? Got that something to show you.

Mab appeared with a spiraling of cold air carrying the scent of crushed pine needles, Clephesia in her arms and sucking on her own thumb. "What is it, my-" Mab gasped and passed Clephesia to Sirhtis, carefully running her hands along the egg. "You found a dragon egg!"

[Valmark]

"Takadox's daughter" Sirthis said, smiling and holding Cleph "Before the fight she asked us to not let the metallics eat her egg- me and Malyanna smuggled it out. Even if one of her traps killed me and we were enemies I couldn't let the dragons eat her baby" he explained "And, well... We don't often get the chance to rise a dragon. A blue one, to be precise"

Clephesia kicked his arm. "La!"

"Absolutely, we are raising this dragon," Mab said. "Though we'll need to put together a room for it. They prefer warm, sandy environments... perhaps Borra and Ha Des can arrange something," Mab mused. "For now we need to keep the egg warm. If I get my carriage ready can Briar take it to the flower room?"

[Valmark]

"If you take Cleph I can carry it myself" Sirthis said "A Fire Giant form should do nicely both to warm it and carrying it, I believe"

[Xihirli]

Mab held out her arms. "Alright. But first give me a kiss, I want to let you know how lucky I am to be married to you."

[Valmark]

"Is it at least half as much as I am? Because that's plenty already- oh I can also control the weather if it can be useful. Though creating a desert may be hard" Sirthis gave Cleph to her and simultaneously stepped close to kiss Mab, closing his eyes to shut out other sensations.
