Default Calvin & Opus & Hobbes & Binkley

Has anyone been following the Calvin & Hobbes/Bloom County crossover on Berkeley Breathed's facespace page? It's pretty amazing, a massive nostalgia trip for those of us of a Certain Age. Great bombshell strip dropped today.

It took me a few looks to notice the red wagon as the prow of the ship.
Some people think that Chaotic Neutral is the alignment of the insane, but the enlightened know that Chaotic Neutral is the only alignment without illusions of sanity.

Please include a link. I didn't see anything on Berkely Breathed's webpage.

This gives the flavor of it. But to quote Susie...ewww.

I treasure Calvin & Hobbes, but it doesn't feel right bringing them into Bloom County. Calvin & Hobbes had their snarky moments, but they also reached for a genuine sense of wonder and fun, as well as some truly poignant moments. That just doesn't mesh with the acid satire of the other one.

I have to wonder what Watterson feels about this. He was rapidly protective of C&H (and knowing his reasons, I agree with his stance).
Cuthalion's art is the prettiest art of all the art. Like my avatar.

I have to assume he's part of the project (much like he was with the guest appearance of merely his artistic style in Pearls Before Swine a few years back).

I understand Watterson's reasoning, but man, the instant I can do it with his blessing, I am getting the bird and phrase "I suppose it will all make sense when we grow up" from the September 19, 1993 framed or tattooed somewhere or carved on my tombstone. Never in my life has a piece of art had such a profound impact on my life.

According to this article, Watterson and Breathed were "good friends," and Breathed has been "authorized" to use Calvin & Hobbes.

But there is a bit of careful wording there, since they were good friends, and it doesn't say exactly who authorized the use.

Haven't seen the strip in a long, long time. And holy **** does it hit differently now that I'm older.

    I think this is hilarious:

    Eat this Bezos!

I especially like the red wagon duct taped to the front.

THIS is the only appropriate music to listen to on this thread.
