    #13 Areas are open to the sky
    #21 is not. Area 22 and Are 23 are the top of the tower and are steeply pointed (#22, which sits above #21 has sharp spikes jutting out like shutters protect the access to the large winodw like arches the ballista on #21 fire from
    In #1 the Ballista platform are open to the sky. But the area other are covered by a sharply raked roof.

    Most of the core roof of the structure is designed to be very passable, its a squat flat dwarven fortress so you'd expect a lot of it will be further down.


    I would say... In the adventure, it expects a series of protracted battles using the army rules so falling back to the southern side of the Ahari bridge that you've taken to rest and then trying to storm the keep the following day would be acceptable. The south side of the bridge has enough cover and range that ballista on the Citadel and the curtain wall are largely ineffective.
    In addition as Paradise Hill was liberated by Irabeth she has rescued ~400 PoWs that have enough equipment to form a ragtag militia/infantry unit to bolster your army (we just haven't got back to Irabeth in the IC thread yet to discuss that).

    Actually if they have channel, they can do that and heal everybody within 30ft. If each knight does that, they can basically heal each other back up to full by each one using 1 channel (and maybe include some of the horses).

    Question: on the map I see an outer wall around the citadel. Is that still there and do the enemy have people on that? If not, we can basically go right next to the wall and lay a siege around the citadel that way as we're protected from the ballista's by the wall. 6 groups, each one section of that wall and wait there.

    Gashur absolutely votes to spend (some of) the mythic MMs to take out the Brimoraks operating the ballistas. Then he will...
    1. Try to get their gear, if any (especially something that has allowed them to see him)
    2. Try to destroy those two ballistas (this would depend on the amount of fire returned by the other ballistas, we might play it out or resolve in bulk)
    3. If no fire is returned by any other ballistas or archers, Gashur would go wild, but I guess that won't be the case

    How tough are brimoraks? Three castings of mythic magic (fire) missile (augmented) can deal up to 18 missiles of 2d4+5 each bypassing spell resistance and immunity.

    The regular magic (fire) missiles are 9x 1d4+3.

    The three fireballs are 6d6+12 each REF DC21 for half.

    Yes, augmented mythic magic missiles are pretty sweet, but she burns through her mythic points pretty quickly. There's a nice synergy between damage dice increase and blood havoc/bloodline arcana increasing with damage dice.

    They don't bypass fire resistance or fire immunity though - only effects that would block a normal magic missile like shield or spell immunity, so brimoraks would be immune.

    Tali wouldn't know this, so she'd waste at least a few missiles of a casting finding that out. The subsequent castings would then be only normal magic missiles instead of magic fire missiles which would lose the bloodline arcana (but not the blood havoc), so they'd only be 2d4+3 per missile but would affect the brimoraks.

    Actually, I can't cast augmented mythic spells until I reach the required tier. Magic missile (aug) is 4th tier and fireball (aug) is 6th tier.

    Shame, augmented mythic fireball bypasses fire immunity.

    Also unfortunately I only get 3 missiles per casting of mythic fire missile right now. Apologies for the confusion, got a bit of a learning curve for mythic magic. I'll do some editing.

    Which is, MOAR FIREBALLS. I think it's one fireball for one MP, so you can blast the cultists, blast two nearest ballistas, then have Gashur raise you up above the outer wall and blast some more ballistas in there. Can do?

    I am not sure how this relates to ballistas. They should be wooden enough and mythic version should definitely work, but having brimoraks in there, our best bet would be not to rely on a prolonged process.

    There should be combustible parts on a ballista - wood, ropes. Plus it might not be easy to put out. Save DC is 21.

    Indeed, ballista's are fired because of rope tension and it has rope holding the javelin in it back. So while a fireball might not destroy the ballista completely, it will burn through the ropes and it will take more than just a few minutes to put those back on. Also if you do it with multiple ballistas, do they have enough rope of the right type to redo them all?

    One person could, there is a 5ft wide passage through the charnel house. The others would have to wait bhind the leader or climb (wel difficult ground so scramble) over the piles of bodies on either side
