Yes, you are right, my thought immediately goes to the one Roy spoke to when he died. That specific deva exhibits secondary sexual traits compatible with a feminine gender, but it's still better to err on the side of caution.

You are correct, that plate is not cracked. There is a plate (not plate armor) that is cracked but still whole. The hint: It is a strip that features a memory.

Certainly the learning process can be no longer than the length of the journey, and the answer I was looking for is way more imprecise than that. (And of course the Dashing Swordsman is the competence gained in that process in order to "become reasonably competent" !)
