    Default Notification after editing?

    Hello,

normally, I should edit my post if I have something to add and not replying to myself. If I edit my post after someone read it, does he has something that tells him that the post was edited?

A post will indicate when it was last edited, and by who, but nobody gets a DM or anything indicating that a post has been edited, and i dont believe editing a post will affect the "there are new posts in this thread" icon. It is up to the individual readers to notice when a post has been edited after they read it the first time.

This is not a rule, but some people will preface new content in a post with [ETA] or some similar marker, meaning Edited To Add, so specify where the new content begins. And yes, i did edit this post so you could see where it shows when it was edited.

You can also include a reason when you edit your post.

OK thanks. The problem is more that if there is nothing telling that a post was edited I don't think that people will go check at all. Not that it happened to me, I was just wondering.

Is that actually a problem, though?

Well depends on your edit I would assume. If it is some minor points or details you have added, maybe not. But if it is an major argument you came up after people read, certainly. And even if someone replied to your post after the edit, I am not sure that people who have already read would go back and reread your edited post. Actually, I would break the rule and reply to myself if such a case would appear.

Edit: actually, I already have done that.
