Yeah, it's quiet. I'll try and find time to do more ISO stuff at some point. I'm fairly confident in BCH, or "either them or Rogan" anyway.

Also I finally have a song idea. About half written.
I'm writing stuff, come and read it!

I suspect I’m the only one who, rightly or wrongly, isn’t pleased with how things are going. Hopefully I have time for more analysis later but I have a long day of traveling and meetings (I seem to have reached the point in my career when the number of meetings increase exponentially. Not sure how I feel about that) so I don’t know how much.

I'm hoping to look over some things again before casting my (probably mostly symbolic) vote, but right now I'm leaning towards Rogan, with you as my second choice. It's not really based on anything new as much as process of elimination. If I come up with that motivation for a wolfy gac to make AV handmaiden, I might change my mind but that's probably pretty unlikely. Though I'm also a little scared that I'm trusting AV too much.

It looks as if I'll die the way I lived, utterly unsure about absolutely everything.

It seems time slipped away from me and I wasn't able to look over everything I should have. So I decided that since this vote probably won't matter anyway and even if I'm right it'll probably be more luck than skill, I might as well go with my stupid instincts one last time. I can't think of a good reason a wolfy gac3 would have done what it seems he did but that doesn't mean one can't exist. Or maybe he had a bad reason. Or maybe it's a gac/AV combo after all and we'll just lose in a couple of hours.

Assuming that doesn't happen, best of luck to town. It's been fun.

    Vote Count:

    BatCatHat (3): gac3, Snowblaze, AvatarVecna
    gac3 (1): BatCatHat
    Not Voting (1): Rogan

    Those remaining face possibility,
This Day is their last chance to find evil,
Would they find guilty? Bring stability?
Or would Queen win the day with upheaval?

Once more was little in way of dissent,
As the suspect brought forth for decision.
But with only accused not in assent,
his guilt was the verdict envisioned.

After talk the group turned to person that
they have waited for some Days to discard,
At that, all chat, fell flat for BatCatHat.
Brought away with him was a loyal Guard.

The phase turns dark, the Queen's loyal connive,
Go back to your rooms now...

BatCatHat and Guard Varro, Town, were arrested.

You are woken too soon, clock strikes midnight,
    Hearing shouts outside, confusion, uproar
Two Guards, Priest, Prince - never mattered this fight,
With no more use, lay poisoned on the floor.

You see someone walking, an unknown man,
    They let EmmyNecromancer come back.
Finally exposed by light, its Rogan,
Facing Queen's agents revealed, you backtrack.

You must find loyal innocent and flee!
Enemy's laughter echoes in this maze,
You find the poisoned body of gac3,
and final foe surprises you, Snowblaze,

Stunned silence; on you mafia convene.
Avatar Vecna says, "Long live the Queen."

AvatarVecna, EmmyNecromancer, Rogan, and Xihirli, members of Queen's Mafia, have won!

So, I'm ending the game early since there's no way for Mafia to lose. Rogan was active in private during Day 4 and would autolynch at end of Day 6 (missing Night4/Day5/Night5/Day6). Even if this happened, no one could stop the Night 5 kill (leaving 2 mafia vs 1 Town on Day 6). Rogan would either be back to vote 2 v 1 against Town or a tie between AV and Snow is broken by priority (Guard is lynched before Handmaid).

Good game everyone! I'll post more tomorrow but for now it's getting late.

While my reads were clearly all over the place, at least I put in the effort and started enjoying myself as town this game (as my only other town games were my first games ever, I was kinda busy understanding the game at that point).

And I should have gone against my gut and voted Rogan. Though I suspect that even if we'd lynched him, gac would've been night killed and then AV would've played us against each other the next day.

You shouldn't have mentioned your old games. This made me check your sig and suddenly I was in a conflict with myself. Am I going to tell my team or will I try to forget what I saw.

I was in conflict with myself a lot during this game. That's one big reason for going silent. I will probably take a break from forum mafia for some time. My QT activity after night 3 was limited. I was asking Cao to offer town to cut day 4 short if I were to become the leading wagon. I also made sure to let him know I would be willing to end the game today, since town had lost anyway.

I kind of wish you had lynched me d5. This way the game would have a more interesting endgame and it would not feel like I took unjust advantage from going silent.
I was thinking about requesting an auto lynch but I didn't want to sabotage AVs endgame either.

Mr Popo, one important thing for you:
I really was annoyed about your style and I think it clashes with the way most people here go about the game. More lay back and less serious. Especially at day 1. Short question: Did anybody seriously thought I was suspicious about Book? I wasn't - until I noticed his sig claim - it was just a bit of flavor reacting to his vote.

I also explained some of my motivations and moves in Wolf chat. If / when it is shared, I would suggest you all take a look.

I hope you all liked the game.
Special thank you for CaoimhinTheCape. He was a great narrator and, as far as I can tell, a fair judge in cases where I was in doubt about myself.

Congratulations to my team, especially AV. Without you, I don't think this game would have ended the same way.
    Xi, sorry for the bus.
Emmy, I hope you are alright.

True, true. I was hoping that my vote for gac at least would let me say "I told you so". I suppose my suspicions against AV was correct at least but since I suspected pretty much everyone at some point, it's not exactly impressive.

I don't mind sharing it (in fact, I am in favor for doing so), but I want AV and Xi to get a chance to think about this as well.

    - - - Updated - - -

I am not sure if I want to share my whole personal QT, but here are some parts I want you to know.

About my frustration post about not getting credit for bussing Xi.
Quote Originally Posted by Personal QT

And now I won't even get credit for this bus? Oh well.

What also adds to this, I really feel much more confident in mech than in people reading. I can use mech to mislead or create advantages for my team. See my plan, which would help town if they would target the right people.

And I really don't think I did very well in either of my games. The whole part about PJ? That's really the way I feel.
Crazy? I feel like I played the easy way. Hunt scum with the info I had. That's not terrible, but it was missing a crucial part. Town is hard to lynch at day. So I should have gone there at night. Which I kind of did n3, but only after getting outed before.

    Edit
Now, to be honest some more: I know honest frustration is something that can really help gain trust. I learned this from AV, when she had her serial killer win.
About my last post in game:

    ---

I want entertainment. Sure, winning is nice, being right is nice. But having fun on the way is more important than that.
I probably should simply ignore you, but that's hard to do in this kind of game.

I hope some of the other players here can speak up and tell me if I am unfair. But you can feel free to wait till the game is over. I am not fishing for likes or townie points or something, not in this post. I can only say, from my point of view, your behavior is killing the fun out of this game. You dominate the discussion. You dictate a lot of the actions. This can win the game for your team. But I am not sure about the fun of all of this.

Take a look at the crazy idea graveyard, if you still don't get what I mean. Multiple people were hoping for Jeen to go for a solo survivor win in the end. That's not the most optimal thing if you want to win. But it would have made for a much more memorable experience.

I think it would be better for the game in general as well. Lynching the inactive is boring, even if you are right about it.

It might be better for AV if I stay in the game, I guess? But I am not sure about this.
On the one hand, I am one more target to remove from the game. Staying alive might give her one more night kill. It could even give her a chance for another misslynch before I am removed.

I don't know what I should do. I think I will not be happy with either choice. So let's pick a compromise...

I would like you to offer the players a chance to end the day early, if there is a majority to lynch me during the first half of the day phase. This way town has a chance to pick my fate, but it doesn't make for a drag. Which is better for everyone, including myself and AV.

    1) I'm fine with sharing wolf chat.

    2) Rogan gets full credit for discovering the BCH Book Wombat signature thing. I just used it to set up a BCH mislynch that kept town distracted for three days.

    3) The one thing that killed this game for town, more than anything else, is the lack of an alignment seer. Everybody was talking like keeping the princess and countess safe was paramount, but it wasn't. They don't matter. All the roles are weak enough that analysis was going to matter far more than mech for this game no matter how things went down. In a normal game, scum has to hunt down the seer, because if seer finds scum before scum finds seer, game gets much worse for scumteam. But in this game? All I have to do is slip into everybody's pocket, and there's nothing that can stop me.

I bussed Emmy and Xihirli the second it looked like they might be getting caught. I was preparing to bus Rogan if his wagon ever got enough traction. I spent a full real-life 24 hours doing ISOs for people whose alignments I knew, because why would scum put that much effort into figuring out alignment? Because it convinced the other tryhard player to 100% vouch for me, and after that I would survive final three no matter what. As soon as I was snug in Popo's pocket, I killed him off so that I wouldn't have to worry about continuing to fool him. This is why my effort dropped off massively D4, btw: putting that much effort into WW tends to get pretty tiring for me, and continuously keeping Popo off my scent basically screwed up my sleep cycles for the past week and a half, and probably for the next week while I fix them.

Innocent Child with a built-in martyr is pretty good when both are guaranteed town. Two baners and two watchers is pretty powerful. But the lack of an alignment seer and the ability to juggle around roles to our desire (and see how others were juggling them around) was a killer.

The way to make town solve the game on analysis instead of mech is to have very simple games where most people are vanillagers. This game saw two townies get lynched because they were trying to be helpful but ended up using their Guard power in a way that can look scummy from the right perspective.

I suspect the only thing that could've stopped it from getting me lynched sooner or later was if someone else (with enough town cred) had used a power on Libro N1. At least it taught me a valuable lesson about looking for clues everywhere and about not unnecessarily claiming.

*sigh* yeah, still mad at myself. I was there on Rogan, I had a correct BCH townread for the right reasons. I should have just trusted myself more.

Also I wrote Xihirli a letter in our QT after her death:

    Spoiler: My dearest enemy...
    Show
    My dearest enemy,

I can't tell you how different things feel now. I always thought that moment when I exposed your crimes would feel deliciously triumphant. Instead I feel empty, hollow. Destroying you has been my purpose for so long, I don't know what else I can do.

And I miss you. Evil monster that you were, you were still wonderfully entertaining. Your jokes were hilarious, if a little dark for most people's taste.

I keep expecting you to jump up, smiling that beautifully twisted smile of yours, telling me it was all a game, and who's ready for the next round?

But it won't happen. They say revenge tastes sweet. So why can't I feel happy that I've won?

    Sincerely yours,
    Your Enemy.

Guard is more or less useless, Baron is pretty limited but potentially useful, Prince and King do more to disrupt town than anything else.

So, the things I wanted to mention/explain:

    Number of Wolves

I was on the edge about picking 4 Wolves over 3, but I figured A) there were a few town specific power roles to balance this out and B) Last game was 8/1/4 and we had a real shot (if I actually put effort into lynching someone other than Ave).

The tie rule also was meant to favor Town (with Princess and Countess guaranteed not to be lynched in a tie) which could have happened when the game started with an even number of players.

    Powers

A lot of people caught on quick that the abilities weren't too powerful except in a couple cases. Princess/Countess are confirmed town by narrator and the fact that a counterclaim of Countess wouldn't go far. Handmaid was helpful as a sort of jailkeeper (though, town only got one to start). I figured this combo was enough to keep the Mafia hunting for a while, (since you need to get the Handmaid first, then you can kill the Countess, then Princess) but when Princess was autolynched there was one less mechanical threat.

Baron was situational (though, good job gac for using it to convince Popo you were good) and so was Priest/Tracker. Kings and Princes were a distraction and Guards were vanilla townies with something to do at Night (though, they would reveal if your target was protected by Handmaid).

So, I wanted an all power game that focused more on Analysis but I think the mech got in the way of it.

Also, shoutout to Snow and Popo for how they decided to use the Prince - they both wanted to shuffle around more useful roles to the Town (Snow ended up getting interrupted).

    Role Assignment

The way I assigned roles, I made sure the Mafia would be whoever started with the King, the Prince, the Handmaid, and the Guard. Two roles to disrupt things, a role to hunt for Handmaid/Princess/Countess, and a Handmaid to protect whoever does their kill (Handmaid's target can't get tracked). The Mafia realized that may look suspicious, but it really didn't matter since Town reassigned the Handmaid right away (again, good job Snow).

    RP

I really liked that there was more role play this game than normal (even if I wasn't super clear on the setting to start). Hopefully I can do it more as a player in the upcoming games. Making the poems for Day/Night were fun and the pieces at the beginning and some players posts were nice.

Default Seriously had a f-ton of fun.

Well, I had an absolute blast. I really, really loved the game being based on analysis, not the mech. Mech is booooring. Analysis is fun. Even when I was pushed for scumread, my mind was always "why?" and it forced me to knock some dust off of deep analytical questioning where it hadn't before.

    Things I didn't do well -
I was lead astray in the trust train. Found myself saying "Uh-huh, that makes sense..." far too often.
I didn't research nearly at all to the level others did.
I missed night one action. I let that level of guilt also lead me astray.

Things I did do well -
Had fun. Speaking of which, did I earn Popo bucks?
Learned more about you guys, and this will help in the future. Note - "Never trust AV"
Got inspired to write some really good parodies - hope you enjoyed them.

Don't feel guilty about playing a bad guy role to the best of your ability. You did great, you murderous scum.

This is why the jokes are a thing. This is why I frequently get lynched D1/D2, or NK'd N1/N2. If I'm still alive by D3, and you don't know for a fact that there's been a baner sitting on me each night, you should probably just lynch me on principle.
