There's a very limited circumstances where I could believe that statement at gave value. I expect that this is not one of those situations.
Let him calm down. People aren't at their most rational after an argument. Perhaps he'll admit that he holds at least some of the responsibility later.

Walking towards someone while yelling and carrying a bat is a threat, explicit or otherwise. If you don't plan to use it, toss it aside before you get anywhere near them. You do NOT take chances in such circumstances, because if they DO plan to hurt the other person, you don't have time to be certain.

Re: Fee-Fi-Fo-Fum, Form smells a Random Banter #235
Well, this weekend my little sister embarked on our quasi-annual quasi-tradition1 of "playing co-op through a traditionally single-player FPS". This year she decided we should go through System Shock 2 again (between sessions of our ongoing Stardew Valley game...talk about thematic contrast o_o ). Going pretty well so far, we got to the engineering deck with very few deaths, though of course that's the deck where most deaths occur...She has also gained a new appreciation for what had constituted "hi-tech" back when her age was in single digits (LAN IP addresses and DirectPlay are nowhere near as convenient as being invited to join a game over Steam, surprising no one).
1 As in, we've done this three times in the last three years with no actual intent to do it with any regularity, so calling it "tradition" is an executive decision on my part.Last edited by Jasdoif; 2021-09-27 at 03:35 PM.

Re: Fee-Fi-Fo-Fum, Form smells a Random Banter #235
Its a sufficiently recognized threat that its in the rules of baseball. I dont know how much more "this is how it will be interpreted if you do this specific thing" you really need. Intentionally flashing another weapon at a person during a conversation to highlight that you have it is also considered a threat in a similar manner.
In the eyes of a lot of society, nobody ever "just has" a weapon.“Evil is evil. Lesser, greater, middling, it's all the same. Proportions are negotiated, boundaries blurred. I'm not a pious hermit, I haven't done only good in my life. But if I'm to choose between one evil and another, then I prefer not to choose at all.”

For the record this:Has nothing to do with the standard "I want to be a dragon/immortal" thing and its resulting baggage. Even though it counts for both.
I just... I was a kid and I thought it would be cool to be a giant robot dragon that was the ultimate end result of in-universe research into cyborgs and androids and was explicitly a hybrid of several pre-existing cyborgs.
Also, one of the possible previous forms is an undead dragon.I also answer to Bookmark and Shadow Claw.

I've been writing so many stories lately. I wrote 62 chapters of my Degrassi Fan-Fiction Story and 16 chapters of my Arcana story. I've been really busy.

Re: Fee-Fi-Fo-Fum, Form smells a Random Banter #235
Will there goes my calm day off relaxation. I find out that, due to a lack of free days, my referral was cancelled between the initial call about an appointment and me being able to call back. So now I've got to wait another two days for a GP skinny and then another two months for another potential eye appointment.
Because being able to see certainly isn't important and degenerative conditions just get better on their own.
This wouldn't have happened if, like with every other major appointment I've had, they just told me when it was. But no, when it's actually urgent they expect you to book and kick you off the list if you can't.

The last of the pain in my jaw from having my wisdom teeth pulled is about gone, so I can actually use my entire mouth again for chewing! Glad that's over with. Now I never have to worry about my wisdom teeth again. Shame about the -2 wisdom penalty, but I wasn't using that stat much anyway.

My job requires me to get a drug test. They gave me a deadline that was about an hour from when they sent me the request... and sent that deadline to me about 10 minutes before the office I needed to go to closed.

Re: Fee-Fi-Fo-Fum, Form smells a Random Banter #235
Yeah, while it's but as clear cut as stone examples I've seen (notice it explicit notice given weeks after the deadline) it's just not acceptable.
My suggestion would be, if possible, get the drug test, get the proof you've done it as soon as you can, and get all the evidence related to the deadline you. Also check if anybody else has had this happen, the bigger the trend the brighter t store glows.

Re: Fee-Fi-Fo-Fum, Form smells a Random Banter #235
Tests of hair alleged to have come from the yeti almost inevitably prove that it's bear hair.
However, sometimes the tests suggest that it's from undiscovered species of bear. the hairs don't quite match with other recorded species.
Personally, I think the posisble existence of a kind of bear we haven't discovered and recorded yet is more exciting than evidence of a monstrous ape-man.I also answer to Bookmark and Shadow Claw.

...Okay then. My sources said it was mostly bear... Gonna have to double-check.
I think my point about potential undiscovered species of bear being more interesting than an ape-man stands though.
New topic: Spooky undead children.
I like the idea as a trope. Can anyone think of interesting examples of them? Fictional or from your own imagination. Disclaimer: Things shared may be used as inspiration for some homebrew I'm working on.I also answer to Bookmark and Shadow Claw.

Re: Fee-Fi-Fo-Fum, Form smells a Random Banter #235
I hate when the seasons change. All of my aches and pains start acting up at the same time. Three limbs of arthritis and a stiff leg and god fricking damn I'm not even 30 yet.
Let's be clear: For all my talk over not wanting to be a victim and my experiences as a kid in school and my desire to literally lice forever, my main reason for waning to be something else is so that I wouldn't have to deal with this kind of thing.
The fact that anyone has to deal with their bodies breaking down over time is kind of bull****.
Admittedly, a lot of my dried solutions are a bit excessive, going well above and beyond what would be needed to solve the problem, but I'm of the opinion that for something that important it's best to be as absurdly thorough as possible with a couple of equally through redundancies just in case.
Or making a complete job of it.I also answer to Bookmark and Shadow Claw.

Re: Fee-Fi-Fo-Fum, Form smells a Random Banter #235
Aren't they more zombies?
You're assuming that they died at three same time...
@Rater: ouch. From what I remember your roughly the same age as me, so as somebody with a broadly functional body (barring my broken eyes and nonstandard brain) you have my sympathies. If take a lack of aging in my current position (assuming I could expect living to 70), I'd take it even more of I was in s position like yours.

Re: Fee-Fi-Fo-Fum, Form smells a Random Banter #235
Kinda. IIRC an alien medical program crashed on earth. It didn't have any reference for our species' biology, so it decided the first human it found (a child in a gas mask, horrified of falling bombs [WW2 London] and looking for its mother) was what a healthy human was. It had malfunctioned and spread like a virus because it kept running into "normal" humans, thinking they were sick (because no gas mask, no desperate need to find its mother, etc).

IRC, the kid was dead or dying when the nanomachines found him so technically undead but in my book the technological component makes them closer to cyborgs... Especially the ones that were
The main kid's an edge case.
If you wanna call them zombies, they're closer to being "infected" than "undead."I also answer to Bookmark and Shadow Claw.

Re: Fee-Fi-Fo-Fum, Form smells a Random Banter #235
Yes, I've seen the episode and remember the twist (and the other one that solves it). Whether or not they're actually zombies is besides the point, but going for broad category 'zombie' fits better than 'ghost' does.
And now I'm wondering when they're going to bring the vampires back, it's been a while. Especially since the latest season had suggested that the Doctor might be a Great Vampire.
