Once again Amafrey puts her trust in her dagger rather than her now fickle magic, slicing out at the orb tormenting her.

Amafreys attack misses, but drives the orb into Astraxia's blows witht he Spear, piercing the creature all the way through and causing it to emit a loud keening sound as mist and light wafts off it's slowly cooling corpse.

Manami continues attacking, her black blade almost singing as it cuts through the air.

The orb takes the first strike but uses the momentum from the blow to dodge the second, weaving away from the samurai's deadly, whistling blade.
Using that momentum it charges at Manami, energy cracklinng in it's form.

The blade rips into the last orb, slashing it in twaine. It's faint screams of death echo as it evaporates.

Astraxia lets out a long, slow sigh. "Is everyone alright?" she asks. She starts to look everyone over for injures.

[Lioslaith]

Kristan shakes his head, "I am fine."

[Estralita]

Gloria bounced out from behind the tree, breathing heavily. Her eyes continued to dart around, looking for new targets. Then slowly, she closed her eyes and shook her head. When she opened them again, she was her old self.

In response to Astraxia's question, Gloria gives a wry smile."Nothing that can't be fixed by a quick rest."

[DigoDragon]

Astraxia nods to the two who answered. "Alright then. We should keep vigilance; I can double with the next watch as I have not taken a turn yet."

Amafrey

Amafrey looked shaken but manages a smile. "I'm just about okay, if a little zapped. Thanks. It seems like we can expect a busy life here."

Gratefully taking to rest the half-elf was asleep almost the moment she had lain down.

Kristan taps the skeleton automaton, "I assume you cannot speak." He turns to the others, "We can have my newfound friend run patrols and help keep watch, awaken us should anything try and get to us."

The skeleton nods, a rattling grin appearing on it's face as it gives an almost laughing salute, and takes up a watch position.

Enemies dispatched, Manami sheathes Ronin's Regret, then turns at the question of injuries.

I will be fine with rest, though I cannot say all that much for our greeting into this new world.

[DigoDragon]

Astraxia collects her things, then studies one of the broken pumpkin creatures, prodding the remains. "I wonder if this was a random attack, or if someone opposing the fates knows we are here?" she postulates out loud.

[Lentrax]

Manami, before attempting to lay down for more sleep, pulls out the cigar form earlier, and begins to smoke it again.

No way for us to know if this was intentional or random without some more information about it.

[Lioslaith]

”I believe we can assume it was deliberate. Didn’t the fates say our presence here was already known?”

[Lentrax]

Considering how little we know of the world, I do not want to assume anything as yet.

[Estralita]

Gloria shrugged. "If they didn't know we were here before, they probably do now."

The rest of the night passes without incident, with the Skeleton keeping its eery watch all night. Day rises as your items regain charges, and your bodies awake refreshed. It's time to continue this mad journey.

Kristan readies himself for the road and waits on the others.

[DigoDragon]

Astraxia eats breakfast quietly, studying the map and preparing for the day's hike. She is in good spirits in spite of last night's skirmish.

"We are continuing to this new location before the village, yes?" she finally breaks the silence.

[RossN]

Amafrey

As she gets up Amafrey stretches and winces. Without reliable magic she's feeling it roughing it more than usual.

"That's my way of thinking anyway," she says, and smiles ruefully. "I'm going to have to find new ways to protect myself than I'm used to."

Kristan looks at Amafrey a short while before asks, ”Do you require healing?”

[Lentrax]

We should get going. We can talk about destinations on the way.

Manami sets her conical hat atop her head, steps into her sandals, and heads out onto the road to wait by Kristan.

[DigoDragon]

Astraxia picks up her gear, taking stock to keep the spear within easy reach this time, and she will lead the pack onward.

Amafrey

Amafrey smiled at Kristan. "Thank you but I think I'm alright now; sleep works a magic of it's own."

Gathering up her motley collection of belongings she joins the others on the road.

The travel takes most of the day, but there appears to be little sign of any real danger. Besides local flora and fawna that seems similare to your homes. Squirrels chitter in the trees and birds fly through the branches.
Eventually, as the day grows late and the shadows long, right before you think of camping, you spot a small cart and stand on the edge of the dirt path ahead of you. In the fading light you can see that it has two torches lit on either side, held up by large sticks planted in the earth. The stand itself is a convas canopy and a rough booth, with a sign that reads:

Schmitt Co. In bold golden font.

As you approach you can see what must be the propriator inside, an aging Changeling in base form with pale white skin and a scarf-no, wait, on closer inspection what you thought was a long white scarf proves itself to be a long beard grown out from the chin and worn as a scarf along the aged changelings neck and shoulders.

Huh. This was not what Astraxia expected. To be fair, she wasn't sure what she expected. She walks up to the changeling and nods her head to him. "Good evening, sir. Uh... your establishment is open, yes?"
