What next after Master of Shrouds?
I have an idea of cleric 2/verrik racial class 1 (from monte cook’s arcana unearthed/evolved)/master of shrouds 10. That gets me to level 13 with only one caster level lost (and one level lost for the purpose of rebuking undead).
What should I do for the next seven levels? Go back to cleric?

Re: What next after Master of Shrouds?
Well‚ the obvious answer to keep the same theme is bone knight. You continue advancing both rebuke and spellcasting (you lose one caster level) ‚ and you gain more control one your undead. Notably‚ you can gain direct control on the undead animated by a willing caster. In your case‚ you can take control of the spawns of the undead you summoned with Master of Shrouds before they disappear‚ which is great. Also all your undead gain turn resistance‚ and you gain some natural armor and eventually some undead traits like immunity to crits.

Re: What next after Master of Shrouds?
I can see a rule that would state that the Summon Monster spell would have the Alignment descriptor of the creature it is used to summon but I can't find this rule.
If it does then yes, otherwise it's free real estate

Re: What next after Master of Shrouds?
Summon Monster I had this rule in the srd, and the other Summon Monster spells piggyback on it, and the Master of Shrouds Summon Undead piggybacks on that. I was going for a true neutral cleric just to be on the safe side.

Re: What next after Master of Shrouds?
Thanks, I knew I read it somewhere.
But I think the loophole is that MoS gives you SLAs that work like the spells but I can find anything on SLAs having a descriptor like spells do so maybe there's an out here
EDIT: Scratch that. What I mentioned would mean that a Fireball SLA would not have the Fire descriptor or an Charm Person SLA would not be [mind-affecting] which would be absurd.
OTOH only the Shadow is Chaotic, Wraith and Spectres are LawfulLast edited by Paragon; 2021-10-14 at 03:12 AM.

Re: What next after Master of Shrouds?
A one-level dip in contemplative for the bonus domain and divine health may be worth it. Super easy requirements, you don't lose on anything, and if you don't particularly care about BaB and HP, you can progress it further.
Divine Disciple is another easy-entry PrC that's basically Cleric+. It doesn't particularly carry over your necromancer theme, but it may reveal itself to be useful.
If you are willing to make a Binder dip, Tenebrous Apostate is definitely on-theme!

Re: What next after Master of Shrouds?
The CD version is garbage and can be completely ignored, the Defenders of Faith version is quite interesting it is full caster and gives access to the full cleric spell list, it was a first attempt at prcs improving caster levels so it is a bit screwy.
Divine Oracle is always a nice choice though in your case I would only take 6 levels of it, on the downside it doesn't progress turning...
