This would be cool but I think it's unlikely, alas. Bond as a film series has, almost since the outset, built its house on the contemporary/near-future setting, with the technology and gadgetry and villain motivations all reflecting that, that going back to the 50s with all that that entails would probably be far too much of a risk for the producers to contemplate. There's also the Austin Powers problem: the classic 50s/60s Bond aesthetic has been parodied so relentlessly for so long that it's hard for audiences to take it seriously.

With that said, I could certainly see there being room for a less campy and more grounded revisit of the 60's-era Bond, either original stories in that era or going back to the novels the original run of movies adapted. Indeed, the Fleming novels were significantly grittier than what the movies based on them often became.

Casino Royale showed us what a relatively straight adaptation of the novels in the modern age looks like, and it would only have needed small adjustments to have been a period piece.
