    Default How do I Quote Quotes?

    Occasionally when replying to a post, I'd like to include the quotes they have in their post, especially if their quotes are not from the forum, so I can't simply quote both posts in my reply.

    For example:

    Is there an easy way to do this? Is this something that could be implemented relatively easily on the websiite? Or do I just need to copy and paste the quote and then insert it in quote tags in my post?

    You need to use the multi-quote button to quote both posts in yours and then use Ctrl+X/Ctrl+V to move one inside the other.

    There are no easier way to do that, sorry.

    Edit: And if they're quoting from elsewhere than this website, you're out of luck.

    This won't help in cases when a quote in a post isn't from another post, however. In that case, you have to recreate it entirely manually.

    About the possibility of things channing, probably not:

    Well sure there is! Instead of moving the whole quote block just move the second quote begin tag to the front.

    Eg:

    [QUOTE=Totally Not Peelee]First stuff[/QUOTE]

    [QUOTE=Non-Peelee Person]
    Second stuff[/QUOTE]
    becomes

    [QUOTE=Non-Peelee Person]
    [QUOTE=Totally Not Peelee]First stuff[/QUOTE]

    Second stuff[/QUOTE]
    which looks

    Of course, that's barely marginally easier, but still.

    Automatic nested quotes are not happening. Manual nested quotes are possible, as detailed above.

    Ah well. Figured it couldn't hurt to ask.

    Thanks for all the hard work you put into keeping the forums up and running! I really appreciate it!
