Bruno had seen strange stuff before and he made sure he was behind his shield when he opened the door. And a good thing he was, as he managed to dodge some projectiles but felt some others thud on his shield. Well, it was a way of collecting evidence should there be a later need.

Re: tomboys and troublemakers: a wfrp 2e game
The fusillade of darts hammer into the Bretonnian's recently repaired shield; four spiking into its surface and holding there, one skipping off the rim and banging into his helm with an unpleasant sound like teeth cracking against metal. He spits a fine spray of blood to one side, slaps away the darts from his shield in a downward sweep of his mace and forges on.
"They will have placed their soldiers at the stairs up to the main hall, by now - be prepared to fight in close confines. Overhead strikes, and backsteps to -"
His impromptu, unsolicited tutelage is cut off as he pushes into the next room, and stumbles to a halt; turning slowly on the spot at the gallery of eyeless, shrunken heads - lost in the profane mystery of how such things came to be. Where had he heard such things...? Which of his father's friends...? Sir Gandry, who travelled to Sudenberg, or... No, it was Sir Anton de Viere. The one who had travelled all the way to the Hinterlands of Khuresh - but he had not found the grail there. The things he had found, the evil he claimed to have witnessed, was of a kind that a young Bertelis and his brothers had felt fortunate to know only in unsettling dreams. Snakes with arms, my boys; tall and strong as a man, though still legless, as they slither; and with such an appetite for blood that might not be believed. I saw one latch its jaws on to a man, and heave its chest as if drawing a monsterous breath, and in two heartbeats the fellow was wrinkled and drained like an old raisin - still on his feet, still reckoning his death! And these Snake-men carry talismans of men's heads - small as children's but rather hewn from grown men and made small with dark medicine. Who can say why?
Any effort to charge on through the next door is paused for the knight; who revisits this old, ominous chill in unresponsive silence.Damien Wayne in Molan's Batman {D&D3.5e}

Re: tomboys and troublemakers: a wfrp 2e game
Sir Bruno is unnerved by what he sees. Why would people want to do such a thing. He manages to keep his breakfast inside at the moment, but would rather go somewhere else.
"Let's check the other doors first before we move on," he suggests, as if it's entirely reasonable to check for stairs behind the other doors first.
A bit more careful, now he has seen the darts, he goes back to the main chamber and opens the next door, making sure neither he nor Bertelis is in sight of the door, so any darts flying out will only fly harmlessly through the room.
Spoiler: OOC
a nice way to play out fear. Just do as if there are other doors to investigate (which there are) and those have priority. No fear at all, just logic, right?
Also I think I can stand to the side and then have the door swing open so any darts or other things will go past us, correct?

Re: tomboys and troublemakers: a wfrp 2e game
As the tormented knights retreat from the room of profane paraphernalia, they wander into a side room to find more grotesqueries still. These are writ on the bodies of the suffering and damned, slack and sleeping in their bonds; perhaps the only relief they have had from misery for quite some time. The intestinal alchemy of the gut-freezing reaction to the shruken heads hits this shock, and accomplishes what the presence of daemons could not. It's all Bertelis can do to drop his mace, and rip off his helmet before loosing a mouthful of breakfast to splat against the ground beside the doorframe. Spitting to clear the acid from his mouth, it's all he can do to vaguely wave with his hand in dismissal - the people in that room, they can only help by killing their captors. With the right door leading to this dungeon, and the straight-on door leading to the fearsome talismans, they have only the leftmost door to check as an alternative to passing through the cursed hall of heads.

Round 2- Gimgroth Initiative 10 Wounds 16/17 Fortune 2/2
The ogress charges at Gimgroth placing herself between the one-armed fellow and the dwarf. Gimgroth easily catches the bulk of her giant club's blow harmlessly on his shield but that left him open for a magical assault from the one-armed man. Three magic missiles careened at him from around the Ogress. Catching him in both arms. The dwarf shrugged off the burning pain and sprinted away from the Ogress charging at the one-armed man who had just used foul magic upon him. Breaking cleanly away from the towering Ogress Gimgroth closed the ground between him and the caster raising his axe as he charged. Timed perfectly the dwarf brought the weapon down with considerable force on the man's remaining arm. Not sure if you're him but in case you are I'll claim you piece by piece if I must. He shouts as his blow lands with a loud crunch.

Jasmine sneaks aboard the ship. She spots a few halyards that control the sails; with them cut the ship will be unable to maneuver well enough to make it downriver without running aground. With her sword she slices through a few of them and the sails quickly go slack and start flying loose. As the crew onboard realize what's happening, she quickly steals away to a spot to watch the chaos unfold aboard the ship.

Jasmine spots Glod, but doesn't want to call attention to herself by making noise. She points at the sailors repairing the ropes and waves at them, and then points towards the stern of the ship and makes a sawing motion with her hand. Then she wraps her pistols and powder in her jacket and stows them carefully under the pile of sailcloth she's been hiding behind, and drops over the side of the pier into the water...
