As Zarron peaks through the crack in the door he sees a black eye staring back at him.

A face devoid of color and twisted by madness surges towards him through the surface of the door. It's mouth moving as if it is trying to whisper some terrible secret that sends a shiver down your spine. Then it sinks back through the door.

Rose and Zarron need to make a DC 14 Wisdom saving throw. On a failed save take 4 psychic damage and you must use your reaction to make a melee attack on your ally.

Wisdom save: (1d20+2)[13]

Zarron shrieks like a little girl, and lashes out at Rose, throwing a haymaker at her face and getting a reciprocal backhanded slap with a gauntleted fist to his face. He then withdraws his rapier from his sheathe, stabs it through the crack towards the eye, leaves it there, and runs far away from the door.

OOC: Rolled on Discord.
Unarmed Attack vs Rose: 2 to hit (natural 1). 0 damage if hit.
Rapier stab: 10 to hit (rolled a 5). 8 damage if hit.

Rose shifts her hand from her ear to block Zarron's attempted punch but then tries to push through the noise to counterattack against her actual opponent.

Unfortunately with nothing covering her ears, the noise is overwhelming and before she can stop it her arm swings back at Zarron.

Immediately after she shouts "There's something behind this door doing this to us, I'm gonna kick it open!" and kicks open the door. (if it opens that way, otherwise she just pulls it open) and swings her halberd at the opponent. As the halberd glides through the air, a fey song cuts through the creature's gibbering as the blade shines a vibrant violet and impacts with a crescendo as violet butterflies appear, fly off in all directions, then turn into petals and fall to the ground.

Punching Zarron (he started it, mom!) (1d20+5)[15] to hit, dealing 4 damage on a hit.

Halberd at enemy (1d20+5)[25], dealing (1d10+3)[7] damage on a hit, rerolled to (1d10+3)[8] on a 1 or 2. (so 4 or 5 with modifiers)
Then other end of halberd at whatever this thing is. (1d20+3)[14], dealing (1d4+3)[4] damage on a hit.

"Wait!" Lana called, but of course everyone was beating in faces and asking questions never.

After Rose kicks open the door they see the specter, its humanoid form covered with flowing tendrils that look like trips of fabric.

Her halberd flashes as it plunges into the neck of the undead nearly decapitating it.

It howls while reaches out with one of its hands leaving smoking black streaks on her arm before Ghiso plunges his blade into its chest causing it to disperse.

In the room Ghiso sees that there are a pare of leather work gloves that have a magical aura.

Zarron rubs the area of his face that now has a visible bruise the shape of a hand. Is it over? Did we win?

[Fay]

Rose clutched her head, collapsed to her knees and fell on the floor.

[Zergrinch]

Zarron springs to the unconscious paladin and shoves the goodberry Lana gave him that morning down her throat.

[Fay]

Rose sits up, coughs and looks around dazed. "Tha-thanks. Do..do any of you know what that creature was?"

[Zergrinch]

Zarron relayed everything he learned about the creature during his bardic training (an Allip) to Rose.

[Izzarra]

During his bardic training Zarron has been warned of this type of undead. It was an Allip, formed when a mind learns of a secret so dark and terrible that the body is annihilated leaving behind a spectral creature formed of the shredded remains of the victim's psyche. In order to be free of the torturous existence they attempt to share their secret with disastrous consequences.

"So if it needs to share its secrets to free itself, how did Ghiso’s sword kill it?" Lana wondered.

[Valmark]

"Probably isn't dead dead but will instead reappear in a few days around these parts again. Many ghosts and similar do that" Ghiso mused "I believe we should try to rest a little before we go anywhere. Zarron and Rose were hurt quite significantly"

[Zergrinch]

Zarron rubs the Rose hand-shaped bruise on his face.

"We should rest outside. This place is a bit suffocating."

He then marches the vaguely Zarron-sized dancing lights in front of him and heads towards the entrance.

[Izzarra]

As you approach the entrance there is no indication that anything here was giving off light but as you look back the blue green light begins to appear back in the central circular room.

[Zergrinch]

Zarron ignores the mystery of the blue-green light, and marches out the tomb. Does he see the boy?

[Fay]

Rose moves carefully, looking around in all directions.

[Valmark]

Ghiso rapidly nabbed the leather gauntlets before following the others.

When he saw the blue green light though he stopped to check out what it was.

Zarron finds the boy outside, he is crying again.

Ghiso goes back to the circular room to find a floating skull wreathed in blue green flame with motes of orange in the eye sockets headed towards the door they had left open. It sees Ghiso then flies up to the vaulted ceiling and three glowing darts come out of its mouth to slam into Ghiso.

Oblivious of Ghiso's impending doom, Zarron goes towards the crying boy. "Hey, what's wrong?"

[Fay]

Rose looked back towards Ghiso to see if he was alright.

[Valmark]

"Ah. My disappointment is immesurable and my day is frankly ruined" Ghiso said groaning at getting battered by the magic darts. He turned around and started running out of the crypt.

"Flying fire skull! Flying fire skull that shoots magic bolts!"

"My dog is down in the crypts and some people went down there to find him but I haven't seen them and I think they aren't coming back."

Zarron, you get the feeling that the boy's memory and sense of time is terrible.

As two rays of fire shoot from the eye sockets of the skull just missing Ghiso and causing the stone to pop and crack from the heat where they land. He recalls that this is a Flame Skull, fashioned from the remains of a wizard, they have a tendency to keep coming back no matter how many times they are struck down unless certain precautions are taken.

[Zergrinch]

"Um, yeah. Maybe we can both look for them? After we, um, take an hour to prepare?" Zarron observes the boy's reaction to ascertain whether he might be a honey trap to lure unsuspecting patsies to look for his ghostly dog, or if he's really on the level.

"Run run run!" Ghiso said, armor blocking the fire bolts that tried to singh his bottom while he kept getting the hell away from there.

"Can't be killed! Retreat!"
