Linux UI alternatives to KDE?
So I upgraded my OS on my computer, and I'm just done with KDE. Every time there's an upgrade, they keep changing the UI. I absolutely hate it!
Are there any other UIs with the classic "Windows XP" layout (task bar, program launcher, system tray, ...) that won't keep messing up everything every six months? We are not standing on the shoulders of giants, but on very tall tower of other dwarves.

Re: Linux UI alternatives to KDE?
Cinnamon, probably. Its basically designed to be smooth for people transitioning from windows.

Re: Linux UI alternatives to KDE?
Yeah, I'd suggest Cinnamon as well. There's also a Linux distribution that's specifically designed to mimic Windows, but I forget what it's called--ZorinOS or something like that?

Re: Linux UI alternatives to KDE?
I currently use LXQT, which didn't appear to make that big of a change when I upgraded to Debian 11.

I'd also second Cinnamon (which is what I use). Another option is MATE, which is what I'd use if I couldn't use cinnamon.

And here I was about to say that I thought Mint could be good.
Mint is using Cinnamon for the UI. Guess I'll give that one a try once I have a new computer. We are not standing on the shoulders of giants, but on very tall tower of other dwarves.
