Rain: a very queer end approaches

The penultimate chapter of Rain by Jocelyn Samara DiDomenick ended this past week.

The comic as a whole tells the story of a group of queer teenagers coming to terms with being queer in a world that sometimes accepts them but often doesn't.

Chapter 43 had, in my opinion, the biggest plot twist in the series' 11 year run. It was foreshadowed for years, but I was still completely shocked by the reveal.

Vincent told us how Marcus reacted particularly badly to encountering a trans man, to the point where he wouldn't even let Fara see Kellen or Aiken because she was associating with Vincent. Aiken says Kellen should accept Rain "if not for Rain, then for mom." Rain told us in Chapter 30 that she might pick a different name. And chapter 42 had Rain tell us that she likes the idea of passing her deadname to someone else.
