    Default Ceiling-mounted projectors?

Has anyone here used a projector on the ceiling to project maps down onto the game table? If so, what projector models did you use, and were you satisfied with image quality?

Wouldn't recommend. In order to see the image clearly, you need to significantly dim the lights in the room which means people have trouble reading their books and character sheets. When you reach out to move miniatures or other items, you are interrupting the image with your body mass and it makes it hard for fine attunement.

Friends of mine have installed a large TV into a table and so instead of projecting down, they project up, as it were.

I've had mixed experience with ceiling-mounted projectors, for the exact reasons Wintermoot described.

That definitely sounds like a better solution to me, although I hope they installed a sheet of glass over the top to protect the somewhat fragile LCD screen?
