And thus ends another great post by me. Unless the post was bad. Then it's another bad post. But usually I make good posts, so that's okay.

How do you milk an amnesia, anyways?
I think I had a book on it, but I forgot where it was

You keep expanding the hero's backstory, nonmatter how convoluted it gets.

Don't even need the "super" bit, if we're being honest.

The thing is the Azurites don't use a single color; they use a single hue. The use light blue, dark blue, black, white, glossy blue, off-white with a bluish tint. They sky's the limit, as long as it's blue.

Going slightly off topic, you have given me a moment of understanding here in terms of how frustrated a lot of the player base was with the Ranger in 5e when it came out. Hadn't realized (having not been around for 4e, had left the TTRPG hobby in the early 00's for a variety of reasons) that it was a/the DPR king of 4e.

Rangers got a huge boost in updates. Gloom stalker basically gives permenant invisibility if you use it right along with getting an extra attack in the first round of combat. With Crossbow Expert and Sharpshooter, you can compete with high level characters at level 4 in terms of raw damage output, and break the ceiling for most builds in terms of damage not long after that.

When you compare that to Beastmaster, which needs to use their action to allow their animal companion to participate in combat, it's a pretty big difference.

Those two facts do not need to be in opposition. I don't understand treating his lovability as overriding his Evilness, nor his Evilness overriding his lovability. Because he's a fictional character and it's not necessary that we pass a binding absolute judgment on how we feel about him. We can simultaneously appreciate his comedy in this corner of our brain while condemning his evil in that corner.

Apparently, though, that's not how some people see it, and that's what continues to baffle me. I don't see how one could appreciate fiction on any serious level if every character has to boil down to a single LOVE/HATE toggle switch.
This quote reminded me of this strip (and i spent AGES looking for it):

Darth Vader isn't Evil because I like him as a character! Yes! It all makes sense now! And Carly Simon did the Heinz advertisements, so naturally, by association, Heinz is a Jedi. And we know that Harry Potter is in fact Evil because Edward and Bella made half as many movies and defeated their enemy through peaceful coexistence while Potter required six movies to do, what? Become the enemy?

We're through the looking glass, people!

I was just hoping I could come up with some more Calculon jokes, but I've been blanking. Maybe it's time to rewatch the relevant Futurama episodes.

When holding a piercer, one should place at least one hand at the bottom or base of the piercer, to properly support it.
