Oh no Mina's bolt didn't do anything! That sucks.
But you know what doesn't suck? Finally getting to fight mostly normal humanish enemies. In a room with ample height for Mina and less water.
Mina goes low, turning Sai in her left hand. It catches the first cultist's flamberge-dagger and turns it aside. Mina goes in with the cultist unbalanced, grabbing him and throwing him into the crowd. She naturally follows it up with a kick to the second that approaches her, using her reach to put a hoof through their face before they can even get in dagger range.

    Penna's rats get to work.

    They are not kind.

The two extra pointy rats scamper away before turning and beginning to lob quills into the mob of cultists while the quill-tailed rat pounces into the crowd and begins swinging its tail around wildly.

Then Penna conjures up a flesh mound before bravely flee from the cultists!

Just a great big gross quill covered thing that convulses, spitting out one of those snakey manticore things that fits a whole fish cultist's head in its mouth and begins shaking.

The floating quill cone decides to be helpful by granting Mina a blessing of Nature! This mostly seems to result in moss or algae or some sort of green goopy stuff to begin growing from the face of that fish cultist that Mina just kicked. They don't seem to like it.

    Speaking of cultists!

They're really trying to knife Mina. Or at least they were. But the ratsnek and the snekticore pouncing on them and mauling the heck of them seems to be pretty distracting. These gross smelling vaguely fishy cultists don't seem to be giving up, though! The one that the manticore was ripping apart kind of... swells up and explodes. Like they just get massively swollen with water before bursting in a cloud of deadly cold and crushing pressure that kills the poor manticore.

Standing atop one of the vehicles is some kind of robot posing with an orange katana. The robot is light grey with darker accenting, and has a skeletal chassis and thin frame. Embedded in his chest is a grey hexagonal battery, and on his head is a helmet like the one Guy Manuel wore, except grey.

The vehicle he's standing on has its paintwork burned by an arc of electricity, which very nearly hits him.

"Yikes! This guy drives like he fails Captchas! I gotta go see whoever's piloting that thing so I can tell him to leave me alone and that I'm literally a minor!"

TANbot (that's the robot) will then leap holster his high-frequency blade and leap high into the air until he is level with the ship's deck, at which point he will attempt to grab onto its edge. If this succeeds, he will pull himself up and look around for where the captain might be situated.

Mina swears loudly. And she has the lungs to swear pretty loudly.
Now people are just exploding?! She knows things aren't going to be getting any less dangerous but could they maybe get less gross for five seconds? Okay, so. Don't kill the cultists. They explode. Good to know.
Mina steps forward again, punching and kicking at the nearest two cultists one after another. She then IMMEDIATELY backs up to make sure they don't explode in her face.
Man, beating up these cultists isn't really that hard. But not getting blown the heck up apparently isn't as easy. Mina looks around. Maybe there's a staircase up to the priest's balcony?

There IS in fact a staircase! It's being guarded by a vaguely fishy mound of flesh and barnacles and lashing tentacles. It looks as awful as it is immobile. Was it there before?

"Oh (swearword) they're the exploding kind?"
Penna laments. This appears to be a pretty unwelcome revelation as far as she's concerned.

But not one that she's going to give up because of!

She lobs another acid bomb into the middle of the pack, the caustic green sac exploding into a heap of SIX spike launching ratsneks! They begin floundering all over the place as they try to get their bearings on the situation. The flesh blob she conjured earlier squelches a volley of spine into another cultist, who promptly explodes. Though some unspoken command by Penna her minions begin focusing their fire on cultists that AREN'T near her. And when she knocks one of them over the thogomizer ratsnek chomps down on the creature's shoulder and begins dragging them away.

The floating quill cone sends a wave of healing magic over Mina again, if only because she was uncomfortably close to the exploding cultist.

At this point the remaining cultists are starting to get thinned out, though they don't appear to have any sense of self preservation. They continue their mostly futile attempt at clumsy stabbing.

"They aren't alive!" Penna shouts. "Just early stage zombification. If they were still alive they wouldn't have all that magic pressurized water in them."

The captain's quite obvious; the boat isn't that big, and there's only one person aboard- a man with mismatched eyes; one dark brown, the other a shocking icy blue. He's wearing a dark blue Hawaiian shirt emblazoned with lime green pine trees and coconuts, though the buttons haven't been done up properly, yellow surf-shorts, mismatched sandals and a slightly squashed red tricorn hat. He's standing at the back of the boat, hand resting on what should be the outrigger engine's handle. He's laughing quite loudly, and yanks the handle to one side to take a corner. The bottom of the boat's hull and the whizzing propeller scratch the brick facade of a warehouse and the deck is very nearly vertical as he does; the captain doesn't move from his spot, as his feet are clad in thick rubber boots with lots of buckles and laces to keep them on, fitted with metal soles magnetically stuck to a metal plate underneath his feet.

Who is that guy? He looks like the main character in a game with extensive customization options, except the player chooses all the wrong ones!

...And he drives like a protagonist too!

"WHAT THE-!?" TANBot yells as the ship's newfound near-verticality causes him to lose his balance. To stay afloat, the white robot will try unholstering his orange katana and stabbing it into the floor of the deck so it sticks, then hanging onto the high-frequency blade until said floor is level with the ground again.

Once this has passed, he will pull his blade from the floor and take a stance which keeps the tip of the katana pointed at the ship's captain, who he's just noticed is laughing. What's so funny?

"Hey, bozo! Who even are you, trying to disrespect my paint like that? You better pull this boat over so you can stop and touch some grass, or I'll ratio your goofy ahh so hard you'll be bleeding more than just subscribers!"

Hearing someone use 'ratio' and 'goofy ahh' in real life is probably a way better reason to laugh than whatever this guy was thinkking of.

The robots and things had her a little worried, but this bunch look like chumps.

"Yeah, come on boys," says Tina, rolling her shoulders and flexing her wings with a sound like plated armor rattling in high harmonic tones. "Don't make us clobber you." She leans over to whisper to Ilphy, "Anika and I can totally just fly you out of here if you want."
    [In Search of Truth]

The mercenaries are all armed with various types of guns and in some cases futuristic melee weapons such as stun batons. Some of them also have grenades and other explosive weapons strapped to them.

While they're certainly cowardly normally their sheer numbers seem to give confidence this time as there's about two dozen of them gathered outside the exit.

But the groups sheer confidence seems to make them hesitate for a moment until one of them, a boar-person, starts opening fire while screaming and oinking like a maniac. Just spraying bullets in their direction using a handheld minigun they're holding in both arms.

While this boar person seems stronger (and larger) than a regular human and is thus able to handle the massive recoil such a weapon must produce their aim still isn't great.

This is going to be enough for Anika start charging forward, and will likely make more of them start shooting only because they don't want to get a bear in their face. But they could always go with Tina's plan and make a fly for it instead as the majority of the mercenaries still don't look too enthusiastic about fighting them. Ilpholin will remember that they can only get out at the very top due to the force field around the manor so they need to go almost straight upwards to escape.

Well this has quickly devolved into a total zombie/monster brawl and Mina is quickly deciding that being in the thick of it isn't in the best interest of her health.
Also there's still a boss that needs stomping.
So Mina backs away from the melee to focus on the gross barrier that's keeping her from kicking the priest in the face. So instead she takes a deep breath and kicks the wall instead! Not in the face, though. It doesn't have one.

Silly TANBot- there are no wrong choices in character creators.

Waiting for the deck to be level again is a long wait- even when the vessel isn't near-vertical, it's often tilted one way or another as it swerves to avoid lamp posts, buildings, taller-than-average vehicles and so on. And if TANBot does pull the sword out of the deck and points it at the pilot, he just grins and presses a button on the lever he's holding, causing the boat to come to a sudden stop. A very sudden stop; it didn't appear to break at all. The momentum has to go somewhere, however, and so it does- lightning arcs from what should be the outboard motor and hits a nearby bubblecar, which rapidly accelerates and smashes through a wall. That... maybe wasn't survivable.

If TANBot manages to keep his footage, the laughing man just grins wider. "It's summer! I've booked a chalet by the sea, I've got a holiday! Who cares about your paint? Your design is far from ergonomic and orange is only a good colour for swords when they're made of plastic. Y'know, so people can tell it's not real and you can't rob a shop with it. Or is that guns? Eh, who cares? I'm late for ice cream!" Pressing a button on the lever again, bolts of lightning streak out and touch four nearby vehicles, which come to a sudden stop as the ship steals their momentum and accelerates. None of the other vehicles were going very fast, though the engine somehow combines it all into instant acceleration; if they were all going fifteen miles per hour, now the boat has gone straight to sixty. He doesn't pull a weapon out, though his hand plays over the lever pressing buttons adding more speed to the careening boat and twisting it into sharp corners and tilting it to extreme angles to knock TANBot off.

When the boat stops suddenly, TANBot is launched in the direction it was moving. This causes him to fall forward, with his katana going into the deck again. He quickly gets to his feet, keeping his hands on his sword in the deck and holding a low and wide stance for better balance.

This immediately proves to be the right move, as he remains (barely) standing even when the boat instantly speeds up, and even remains standing through the turns long enough to reply to the driver.

"Oh, you've got a holiday? Why don't you get some [femaledogs]? And I'm more ergonomicc than a trackball mouse! And it's insane that you think you can own me for my colour choices when your clownass looks like it got faded and woke up on the wrong side of a TV screen."

TANBot checks his storage for a surprise tool that will help him stop Liam from keeping control of the ship. Let's see here: tin of mints, no; comically large spoon, no way; GLOCK-17, if only he could aim; pipe bomb, he'd need the guy's mailing address; maid outfit, definitely no; flashbang, PERFECT.

A flash of light comes out of TANBot's helmet, and when it dissipates a flashbang grenade appears in front of his screen. He removes one hand from the high-frequency blade to hold the flashbang, briefly holds it up to his face, and flashes another light. When this one is gone, the flashbang looks the same except that its pin is now absent. Having pulled the pin, TANBot chucks the grenade at Liam.

    "Think fast, chucklenuts!"

Liam's got the tiller (that's the word I forgot yesterday) and is at the back of the boat. If TANBot's facing forward when the boat stops, he's not looking at Liam.

"I'm allergic! And they're too much work, and I'm going to relax, not go throw a ball all day and pick up droppings! If I wanted to do that, I'd stay right here." Completely missing the point, there. Then, sudden flashbang grenade! Liam screams as it goes off in his face and leans horrifically to one side as he tries to recoil from the sudden light and sound. His feet are locked to the deck, however, so he can't move as far away as he'd like- but he does push on the tiller and presses several other buttons without looking at them.

This means that the boat is tilting as it turns, and this time it's not going to stop at vertical- it's going to capsize before continuing all the way around and back upright again, and then tilting to capsize again before Liam corrects his grip and straightens out. They'd have hit a building, but fortunately the other buttons he pressed increased power to the anti-gravity mechanism allowing the boat to fly, so it climbs steeply as it rolls. Liam can't see or do anything yet, so if TANBot is still aboard he's able to do something else to try and take control of the boat or otherwise stop Liam.

    Guess what time it is?

Time to lob a parasitoid quill into one of the fish zombie cultists! They get stabbed pretty effectively and promptly swell and up burst, spilling out one of those terrible dog-snake-centipede things. Why does all of Penna's magic have to be so terrible? The rest of her swarm of minions falls upon the fishy zombies in a storm of teeth and quills and violence. It isn't going great for said zombies mostly because letting Penna wind up with piles of minions really isn't a good strategy.

    Also?

    Mina kicks the flesh blob!

    It jiggles.

    And smells gross.

That felt like it broke something inside the blob, but it is quite large and doesn't go anywhere. Also it tries grabbing Mina with its tentacles which isn't a thing she should let it do.

He had most of his weight on one foot, so he pivoted before falling.

Aha! Nobody predicts the flashbang grenade! And a good thing, too; usually TANBot forgets to pull the pin. Except, blinding and deafening the driver of the vehicle you're standing on might not have been the smartest idea, especially considering "pull over" doesn't seem to be part of his phrasebook.

This katana's not going to protect him forever, especially not when this boat capsizes. Instead, he has a better idea. When it's at a 45 degree angle, he holsters the orange high-frequency blade and leaps into the air at a higher speed than the boat is rising, going high enough that when he lands the boat has already capsized and he's standing on top of its underside. In the time that it's upside down, he will try to prise off the metal plates protruding from the lower hull with his sword, doing as much as he can before it returns to verticality, at which point he will jump again and drop down when he sees the ship's deck.

Now back safely on deck, he notices Liam's vulnerable state and has an idea. Rushing over to the man, the robot will attempt to grapple Liam and pull him out of the drivers' position, lifting the pilot over his head in a suplex. TANBot is rated to lift 500 lbs (and has suplexed a 500lbs person before - all muscle, too!) so his strength should be enough to overcome both both the gravitational and magnetic forces keeping him boots to the ground.

Oh, and there's an obligatory meme reference too, of course.

Wow it's a good thing Mina isn't facing that horrible brawl of exploding creatures it sounds pretty gross.
Also gross is this wall of tentacles.
The tentacles can reach out and grab Mina. She's too big to be able to jump out of the way super effectively. So one of them gets a good grip around Mina's left arm.
    There is one problem.
That's the hand she's holding Sai in, and Sai can electrify himself. This is likely very painful for many things that are made of meat, like this wall.

Probably because it IS pretty gross.

Might be the best plan to just ignore the goings on.

    Or, well.

Up until they begin lobbing volleys of spikes at the gross tentacle wall.

Between the lightning and the spikes it goes blorp pretty effectively. Now there's gross goop everywhere.

    Terrible.

"Sure, after I brain an idiot." They're not going to fly out of here with people trying to shoot them down. Ilpholin doesn't doubt Tina would probably be fine, but Anika's much more durable as a bear than a bird.

Some bullets flicker off a field on the bike as it revs up loudly and Ilpholin flies forward towards the boar man. It swings to a sudden stop sideways and flings the nymph towards him as she leaps off in an attempt to knock him into the ground, her arm a shield that she raises and lowers over and over and over again to grind him into ground pork as viscerally and viciously as possible, screaming in his face and daring anyone around him to join in his fate, seemingly unconcerned when a bullet or two catches her arm and causes a spray of black oil to join in whatever fluids the boar man might be losing.

Going up the stairs probably means ducking again, but Mina is willing to do this.
Up the stairs our heroes go, Mina clomping away with her giant hooves and Penna and her minions probably treading more softly. Either way Mina is going to give that priest a face full of fist when she gets to him.

    Why so hostile, Mina?

The priest just tried to have you murdered the moment he saw you.

Also he's been having his minion kidnap people, probably to zombify them.

Mina will find a distressing sight on the other end. A sacrificial chamber! With a sacrificial alter! With a silver wyrmling lashed to it! The dog sized dragon bab thrashes impotently as the fish priest approaches it, knife in hand. He begins hastily changing a guttural, burbling language.

"HELP!" would be the tiny dragon's plea.

Oh boy. That's going to get Mina moving. She's not going to let some kid get stabbed on her watch.
Oh and this time? There's no water to slow her down.
The priest is probably going to want to do something about the charging minotaur coming directly at him because getting clotheslined by her is not adviseable.

Tempest Row- Headed to the Spaceport

If TANBot is shock-resistant or unharmed by electricity, prising off one of the plates is possible before the boat tilts far enough back to right-way up that it's too hard to stay on, not all three. Underneath the plate, a hole has been crudely sawn into the fibreglass hull and wires poking through and welded haphazardly to the metal plate. The wires lead back to a metal shell that originally came from a two-slot toaster, screwed to the bilge; there's more lights in here, especially since one of the cables wired between the toaster and the anti-grav plate has star-shaped Thanksmas LEDs on it. There's also a multi-headed screwdriver, just loose in the hull, though it's going to fall out if TANBot leaves it there. If TANBot is not shock-resistant, he's blasted with electrified gravity pulses in the form of the bolts of lightning that earlier transferred momentum and earlier still scratched the paint on TANBot's car. They aren't going to take his momentum, though it's still a dangerous amount of electricity mixed with gravity fluctuations that might cause some damage.

Back on deck, TANBot will find it is not gravity nor magnetism keeping Liam's feet in place. It's not even a combination of the two; it's artificial atomic adhesion, the stuff that stops solid objects flying apart as the molecules holding it together are pulled in different directions. His feet can't be moved, not easily, as whilst he's wearing those boots he's functionally part of the deck. There is a gravity effect, as well, but it's counteracting the g-forces caused by the boat's extreme acceleration and sudden movements. Whilst TANBot tries, however, Liam produces from somewhere a device. It looks like a television remote control, except it's been taken apart and combined with a large telephone handset and powered by three D-cell batteries. He'll point it at TANBot and presses a button, sending a narrow beam of kinetic heat at the robot. It won't last long; the batteries lack the capacity to power the weapon for long, and Liam's draining the charge with this; it's also not a laser, as it pushes rather than cuts and there's no light emitted by the beam on any wavelength.

    [In Search of Truth]

Tina starts off diving forward to bowl into the group, fearing no bullet or bludgeon. She throws out elbows and short kicks, smacks of her arm that feel like solid hits from a steel pipe. She only gives a solid braining to people who really tick her off - shooting her at short range, for example.

She tries to send them running, grabbing weapons where she can and smashing them with her bare hands. Although when she sees what Ilpholin's doing... "Hey-- hey I think you made your point!" Fettina says. Damn, this bitch is crazy. Assuming that Ilpholin actually does bring down the pig-man, Fettina will try to dive in and pull the nymph off of him before she can smash him into a sloppy joe. Dragging the shapeshifter back with her own arms around Ilphy's middle, if necessary.

She gets that these guys are throwing lethal force at them without a care in the world - but if you're gonna kill somebody, just kill them. Tina's seen it before and it makes her wince but she knows sometimes it can't be helped. Doing it like that, for the scare factor (or just out of sheer rage) though... That felt like something else.

[Tempest Row- Headed to the Spaceport]

TANBot is granted a good resistance to shocks thanks to being plated with a strong material that conducts heat but insulates electricity. The battery embedded in his chest is also covered by a transparent glassmetal which works to the same effect. His paint, however, is scratched up some more.

"Damnit, I'm going to have to go get myself detailed again. I'm so mad, I'm gonna have- aww, is that a toaster? Look at him, he's just a cute lil' toastie, so innocent and precious. Okay, I'm a little less mad now."

The screendriver is allowed to drop.

Now, while trying to lift Liam...

"Dude, how heavy are you? You need to leave Reddit and uninstall League of Legends immediately, you avocado!"

TANBot seems to believe a weight problem is why he can't lift Liam.

Then, he sees the kinetic heater Liam pulls out.

"Hah, what are you gonna do, nerd? Change the channel? Call your nonexisten- okay, you can stop, ayo STOP, STOP!"

Heat. There's nothing computers hate more.

A heated TANBot releases his grip on Liam and takes several paces backward. His body language would suggest he's out of breath, but robots don't breathe. Instead, a loud computer fan noise is emanating from him.

*whirrrrrrr...* "Can you believe organics like this heat? How am I gonna chill out... wait, I got it!"

TANBot pulls out his orange katana and starts spinning it in front of him at an incredibly fast speed. This acts as a massive propeller fan, cooling him off and sending his heat in Liam's direction. The computer fan noise starts winding down, before returning to a below-audible level.

It was a toaster. Then Liam took it all apart and used the casing to house the device providing the antigravity effect allowing the boat to fly, though the boat is tilting now. There's not enough redundancy in the three fitted to the hull to fully compensate for the destruction of one of them, though it's not falling yet.

Whilst TANBot is trying to cool down with his (frankly impractical, but who is Liam to judge?) katana-fan, Liam stuffs the remove into a pocket on his trousers, where it sticks out quite a lot, and hauls on the tiller to send the flying vessel into another barrel roll. The remote falls out of his pocket as he does, but that's not noticed and less important- the broken anti-grav plate is really noticeable with this manoeuvre, and hampers the boat's agility. Instead of righting itself and straightening out, the flying boat stays capsized and lurches to one side, headed for the side of a brick warehouse. Liam keeps pulling at the tiller to try and regain control, but if TANBot's still aboard things are going to get worse shortly.

That is... considerably less cute. Also, looks like being on the boat is now marginally less safe.

TANBot would jump onto the underside of the boat again, but he's just got an idea. Why go for a wheel when you could take out the engine?

TANBot proceeds to try using his HF blade to cut a hole in the deck, just large enough for him to jump in (quite small, given how skinny his chassis is.) Provided it looks safe (basically just as long as there's a floor there), he'll jump inside the boat just before it goes too vertical for him to be able to do so. Now inside the boat, he'll get tumbled around a bit as it capsizes, then look around inside here to see where the engine room might be.

Tempest Row- Heading to A Brick Wall

TANBot cuts into the hull and discovers a cramped space with no engine in it. There's a space for an engine, but it's been removed. There's a confusing network of wires, however, snaking all of the place and plugged into several distinct things. The toaster-case mentioned earlier, the surviving two anti-grav plates, a bilge pump, a disassembled telephone box, and a small aluminium keg which most of the tangle of wires seems to connect into and which has had a solar powered calculator taped to the side, the little screen showing a changing sequence of numbers that don't appear to make a lot of sense. Nothing looks like an engine down here- although Liam is holding the tiller of a heavily modified outboard motor, which he's twisting and turning to change direction.

TANBot is inside the boat, likely with nowhere to go as Liam screams and the boat comes to a sudden and rather harsh stop. The boat's fibreglass hull, with the holes cut in it for the anti-grav plates, isn't thick enough to withstand impact with the brick wall and smashes, sending fibreglass dust into the air- though the wall does partly collapse due to the boat's momentum. This just means that everything is being thrown around and disgorged into a warehouse filled with large crates and panicking guards.

    [Waterlogged]

Mina is a fine upstanding person.

So upstanding in fact that she scrapes her horns on the ceiling when she rushes into the sacrificial chamber.

    Anyway!

Mina does what minotaurs do best!

    Get stuck in labyrenths?

    No.

    Build ships?

    Also no.

    Change things with her horns?

    ...aaaaaalso no.

Just plow into some dude with her arm!

    Yeah!

    Down the priest goes.

The priest tries to make himself feel a little better by stabbing Mina in the leg.

Penna, meanwhile, hurries in while the tussle is going on over there and begins cutting the shiny lizard bab down. "Don't worry we're here to rescue you."

"Could you have rescued me before I lost all the feeling in my tail?" the upside down wyrmling asks. A snarking child. The worst kind.

Mina is going to do so much work on her horns to get these scratches out of them.
And Krynn minotaurs are very good at ship building! And sailing!
    WHAM!
"Ow." Mina says flatly, before kicking the heck out of the priest with her unstabbed leg.
Huh. She's been stabbed now. That's her blood right there.
    ...
You know somehow it doesn't hurt as much as she thought it would. Maybe because she's already been bit by mecha zombies and that's kind of the same thing?
"Hey Penna do you have more healing juice for this?" she asks, more casually than even she would expect.

"Look at this place! It looks like my future girlfriend's house." That is TANBot's reaction to seeing the space he stands in now.

TANBot is facing towards the front of the boat when it hits the building, so he falls face first alongside the other items inside it. It sounds like he's screaming as well, but a look at the screen on his helmet would reveal that he's actually playing a clip of some guy called FlightReacts screaming. Even in a situation like this, he's still gonna meme.

When he's about to hit the floor of the warehouse, he'll go into a roll just before hitting the ground, so as not to take any damage. Then, he'll stagger to his feet and look around himself.

    "Frick."

Tempest Row- Arrived at a Brick Wall

The guards are a mixture of humanoids, all of them wearing biker's leathers emblazoned with a skull over a bone crossed with a spanner and the words Road Pirates at the top. There's a lot of motorcycles at the front of the warehouse, although they don't all match and not all of them are strictly speaking motorcycles- there's a light monowheel, a kettenkrad, and a dicycle as well. There's other vehicles; mostly light vans and small lorries, used to navigate space-pressed Skyside's streets, but also a light helicopter with a bubble glass canopy and an exposed tail boom. There's also a lot of shipping containers, some of which were being loaded with wooden boxes.

Five guards are approaching the hole in the wall and ruptured boat; a bulky half-orc waving a sledgehammer as though it were a child's toy, a pair of humans that could be twins, one carrying a shotgun as the other works on loading a howdah pistol, a slender vedalken carrying a wooden staff studded with copper and a skinless ghoul wearing a blue jumpsuit under her leather jacket and carrying a 10mm pistol. The ghoul raises her pistol at TANBot. "You are trespassing. Leave immediately."

Liam, standing at the back of the boat, is probably outside.
